An unwelcomed guest I invited...

It was right after my dad died and she pushed my mom over the edge. I think in the end my mom let her know how everything was making her feel was a good step forward. I am thinking if you give you dad a good talking to that he will keep his mouth shut, at least until after the wedding. You don't want to let it all bottle up inside until the wedding and explode the way my mom did. Pressure kind of does that to everyone. -

Early wedding gifts and thank you cards?

I figured if we got anything I wanted to order thank you cards with some wedding photos on it. Now that we have gotten gifts I don't know if it is tacky to wait to send the thank yous, or just send something now acknowledging the gift? Mind you I'm the girl that writes thank yous the day I receive a gift so people know I am prompt with this. You are only 2 weeks out, I say wait and get the thank you cards printed with the wedding photos like you wanted. If you can get them in the mail 4-6 weeks after the wedding you are doing good. -

Needless to say, he has failed to see how positively my son has impacted my life. I know how this can be. My mother became pregnant with my sister at 16 also and to this day my Grandmother will not let her live it down. I hate to say there is only one solution to the problem. You need to confront him on it. Be honest and let him know that if he can't behave himself at your wedding you will have another one of your guests escort him for the area. You will be amazed at how quick that loud talking will stop when you call him out on it. Hope that helps, Carla -

I am going to wear a different dress, simple and white. -

These 2 individuals are free-lancers who do designs for event promotions and magazines etc, so they aren't really in the invite/stationary business I hope you post these when you have them done! My FI loved the idea when we saw it online and want to send out engagement announcements in this style.

Wedding Colors
adias.angel replied to krazyk's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
This I think was the hardest part cause we kept changing it. I started looking through different photos of peoples weddings online. It took me almost a month but I kept coming back to the pictures that were mostly orange with accents of pink. My FI suggested using a sand and orange color scheme with accents of pink. Once we saw the three colors together we just knew it was perfect! It was that light bulb moment when everything just clicks. Carla -

You said that the tourist season gets busy around Christmas, how close to Christmas? We are a looking at the Dec 11, 2010 and wondering if it will still be during the slower time. Thanks, Carla

Hey ladies Im back and wondering how everyone's planning is going? Hope everything is going good, Carla -
Add me to the potentials list. We are holding off until next fall for our site visit so we can see a few of the new hotels that are opening in 2009. Our TA is working on getting together a list of the resorts that fit our criteria (the 2009 ones are being a bit of trouble) but as of right now the GP is #1 our list. Carla

Wedding Dress Colors
adias.angel replied to hunnyhun921's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Mine is going to have some orange: This is from the Alfred Angelo dream in color line. I loved it the moment I saw it. All of our guests will be asked to wear white/neutral colors. The only colors at the ceremony will be the decor, my dress back, my parasol, my bouquet and FI's tie; all of which will be orange. So I totally agree to do for it. Carla -
Anyone here not having a bridal party??

Everyone who has done says their guests just loved it and it was more meaningful to them than a traditional ceremony. -

We are not have a bridal party either. We are doing a Mayan/cosmic ceremony so everyone will be in a circle around us participating anyway. -

Parasol Ettiquette??
adias.angel replied to DanielleNDerek's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
That would look so cute. The kids would probably love to have the parasol to play with later anyway. -
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone sent out informal engagement announcements? I was thinking of serving a duel purpose with these. Since we have two different guests list, DW & AHR (25 people) and AHR only (200 people), we could send these to AHR only guests as a "hey were going to be doing a destination wedding and there will be a party when we get back for you to attend" kind of thing. Since we are sending save the dates to DW guests these engagement announcements could go out the same time to the AHR only guests so we don't have anyone upset that they were not informed or didn't get something in the mail too. Is this only making sense in my head? Carla
