  1. We are doing to do a beach ceremony and will probably have about 6-12 family members. I would like to have an isle but will it look silly with so few chairs? Any thoughts? Thanks, Carla

  3. Definetly going for it in my dress! Since we only like the TTD water pics like in the cenotes in the Rivera Maya we are doing it right after a lunch reception. Figured by the time we get back on the ship the dress should be mostly dry and I can wear it for the rest of the evening and all I will need to do is fix my hair.
  4. cuban_flamingo, Thank you so much. I feel so much better hearing someone else is thinking of doing the same thing! Carla

It is very much like photoshop but free. It use to be exclusive to the Linux platform and recently has had a version available for Windows. GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program For your monogram either program would be perfect. BUT those programs are really made for editing images not creating whole pamphlets. What I am doing is creating monograms and edit photos with photoshop/gimp then using word to create the STD's, pamphlets, ceremony program. That way you can take a word file to a printer and get them printed on high quality paper. Word is a very common program and almost any printer should be able to use it. I really love both Gimp and photoshop. I am a software developer and don't have any training in image creation but I learned them really quickly. If you google the word tutorial and the program you are using they have some great examples of how to use them. Hope this helps. Sorry its so long Carla
  6. Hi all, I am at the VERY beginning of looking into locations but one thing I noticed is in the RM posts almost all are for resort weddings. We are planning to come in by cruise ship and want a early morning wedding with a lunch reception at La cueva del chango. Are there any quite beaches near Playa del Carmen & La cueva del chango? Or should we be looking into having the ceremony at a resort there and going outside for reception? Thanks so much for the help. Carla

Those are the two cheapest options and they are the exclusive videographer for the Chapel. I tend towards the buying the video camera option. After seeing what my sister (who BTW is an account and has no training in this stuff) did with the videos she made. Do you have someone who can do the video at the ceremony? If you do its not to hard to make yourself a wedding video with some pretty simple software that will look just like the professional one. Just make sure the camera uses digital video and you will be all set to do it yourself. Carla

  10. Thanks for posting this, been having the same debate. I am not real big on watching myself on video. Plus how much do you get taped, just ceremony or the whole day. We have many people who will not be able to attend I want to be able to share it with them at home. After attending my niece and nephews graduation this weekend I saw a video my sister did for them. It was a combination of video clips she had taken over the years along with still photos. It was set to music and the music would fade out during the short clips of film so you could hear the sound. IT WAS AMAZING!!! Right now I am leaning towards having her do a documentary style video of the whole week they are with us (we are doing a wedding cruise before honeymoon). She can do the 'bride and groom interviews' I have seen in other professional videos, interview guests, etc. Then when we get home she can add video clips and pics of us growing up to clips and pics of the ceremony and trip. This way we have a great video we can run in a loop during the AHR. Since you don't like to watch video of yourself either shortened clips to show others might be a great idea. Then you can always keep the full video locked away just for you. Carla

  14. Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of a font/dingbat with a compass symbol on it kind of like the one in these pictures: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t17809 I would love to use it on my STD's. Thanks, Carla

  17. Thank you so much! After hearing you had your rehearsal dinner there I think my mind is made up.

The food is traditional mexican style| Breakfast is SOOOO yummie... my personal favorite is their homemade granola sprinkled on a fruit bowl with natural oatmeal and yogurt . Thumbs up from del Sol Contact Owner: Andres Friederich [email protected] for info, tell em del Sol sent ya Thanks! Actually I saw the restaurant in one of your TTD session pics and fell in love. Do they take reservations? Is it large enough to comfortable accommodate a group of 15-20? Since we don't want to do a buffet thing, is their food expensive if each person were to order their own? Thanks again! Carla

  20. Need some advice. We are thinking of coming in by cruise ship so we would like to do a morning ceremony and a lunch reception for those people not traveling on the ship with us (then some TTD pics hehe ). We are looking for fun, unique and informal. I saw some pictures of La Cueve Del Chango restaurant from some pictures on Matt from Del Sols site. Loved it! Has anyone been there? Would you recommend it? Thanks, Carla
  21. Hi, I was wondering if there are any brides out there who would like to post experiences? I think what we would all like to know is: 1.) What you would do again 2.) What you wouldn't do again 3.) What you wish you had done The hope is to get information that is RM/Cancun specific; eg a mayan ceremony and wondering if anyone really loved theirs. Thanks so much! Carla
  22. Wow glad to see such a nice responce. I will start a thread ask past brides to please post their experiences. Carla
