I am in love with the Playa Del Carmen area but the more we look the more I think we want to get off the beaten path for the ceremony. It seems so much of the beach areas are full of resorts and condos. I think we want a more "back to nature" feel for the ceremony. Since I can only remember populated areas any suggestions for a quiet beach or jungle area near the Playa Del Carmen? Or even a hotel with more of the natural feel? Thanks, Carla

Hi, The one thing I noticed is that Europe is not on here. That is acutally one of the areas we are looking at. Might there be plans in the future to add a sub forum? Thanks, Carla

Hi ladies Did anyone have any problem going through security with the sand? With how strict everything is now thought it might be a problem. Carla

Best thing you can do is start reading cruising forums. Cruisemates is one of my favs and they are so friendly and helpful.

Count in this cruise addict! After my FH took me on our first cruise I was hooked. It was only natural that we getting married while cruising. That is the only part we have firmly decided on. We are doing a one week wedding cruise w/ family then followed by a one week honeymoon cruise. Both on Carnival of course. We are not going through Carnival for the wedding itself. The WC the cruise lines use is just awful! We are doing everything ourself while in port though a independent WC; probably in playa del carmen. I know Carnival is great about doing this kind of thing.

Bridesmaidzilla!!!

If her only problem is price and the fact she seems internet savy, give her the option of staying a different place in Jamaica, finding her own flights, etc. That way she can afford it and you still have your MOH.... -
Waterfall TTD location? TTD Photog?
adias.angel replied to adias.angel's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
OMG! Coyaba River Gardens is amazing!!! I just looked at their website and I think I am in love. From the pics it looks like they have one major falls and then a couple well landscaped garden pools? Do they let you go into the pools in the garden too? Thank you so much for suggesting this place!! -
Opinions about reception
adias.angel replied to MEE's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
In the same boat as you as we are hoping to only have 6-12 people at ours. We want to keep it close family only. Are you going to have a AHR when you get back? How formal would you like to be for the reception? If you want something not formal I would say make it a fun outing to an eclectic restaurant. Maybe one that has live music so you can dance? Hope that helps, Carla -
Waterfall TTD location? TTD Photog?

Hi all, Would like to do a TTD session at a waterfall. We would be coming by cruise ship into the montego bay or ocho rios port (still working on date and cruise). Anyone know of some amazing locations near those ports for a waterfall TTD? Looking for lush vegetation, great falls and small pools to do this in. Just a very unique and fun background. Also I am looking for recommendations for good TTD Photographers in these areas also. Originally I feel in love with pictures by Del Sol in Playa Del Carmen Del Sol TTD. But we just found out that we won't have enough time after the wedding to do this. Know any good photographers in the montego bay or ocho rios area that have a photojournalist style like this? Thanks a ton! Carla

Hi, Currently trying to select a location and could use some help. If we chose Belize we would be coming in by cruise ship. Here is what we are looking for: - NOT touristy - Quiet, small beach ceremony - A fun place to have a lunch reception, not formal. Something like this: la cueva del chango - Lush foliage for pictures Any places near the port in Belize come to mind? Thanks, Carla

Ladies need your advice, We are cruising for our wedding (have not picked exact cruise yet) and after talking to photographer found out we will not have enough time to do a TTD in a cenote in Playa Del Carmen after wedding. I am really disappointed, this was on the top of my list. I love the pics from Del Sol's cenote TTD. Since we are cruising we have a lot of different places to do a TTD. I only want to do pictures in the water (no cutting, burning or anything like that). So does anyone have any advice on where a good place to do a TTD would be? What types of locations (beach, ruins, etc.)? Thanks again, Carla

Thanks so much for the idea but need to have the chairs. FMIL has blood pressure problems and I know she is going to need a place to sit. I don't want her passing out during the ceremony.
