  1. I agree go for the pictures! We have a pretty good size budget for the wedding and almost 1/2 of it is to hire Del Sol for our wedding and TTD. I thought my budget nazi FI would say no way but once he saw the picture he was all for it. Since the pictures are much like a storybook, I think he realized since we are only inviting immediate family and very close friends that this would be a way to show everyone our wedding. The TTD is the part he is most looking forward too and that he thought was well worth the money.
  2. I felt way overwhelmed when we started but now I think we have a good idea. 1.) If you have not stayed in an all inclusive think about what you would want in one or if you even want an all inclusive. (I have a questionnaire my TA sent me that might help you with this. PM me and I will sent it to you.) 2.) Contact your TA so he/she can begin to narrow down your selections based on what you are looking for. We found there was just too many resorts to not have a TA help with this. 3.) When you evaluate have a checklist that you use. Use the same checklist if you do a site visit and compare the 2 when you come home. Here is one I created that you can edit: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t27020 Most importantly is to be flexible with the date. By moving ours back a month we are getting a much better deal and at a quieter time of the year. Good luck, can't wait to hear how it goes! Carla
  3. Well I may not be doing this either. It looks like my Grandmother didn't have pictures taken because she was a war bride and film was hard to come by. Also found out I may not have any pics for my parents or my dad's parents.
  4. Well I tried to add it but I can't seem to get it to upload. PM me your email and I will send it to you. Carla
  5. So I saw this display of parents and grandparents wedding pictures and just fell in love. I think this is something I am going to do for our AHR. Thought I would share it. Carla

So just make sure you are in the contract somewhere as approved as the photographer. Better to get it in writing now.

  8. I am actually having my BIL play his guitar for ours. You can get a small portable amp to help with the sound level.
  9. Thanks ladies for the suggestions!! They are great and now I got a huge selection. 11. We are going to do a blessing and then the AHR. We are actually going to call a local non-denominational minister to do ours...
  12. I saw this picture and just love the font: Does anyone know what it is? Thanks, Carla

  14. We are actually thinking about waiting 6 months so we can have it outside. So waiting until September is not unreasonable.

Welcome!! Don't forget your guests will need to pay for excursions, average of $50-$75 per person per excursion. Of course they can always do like us. Choose just one or two excursions at our favorite ports and then spend the other ports shopping and looking around.
  16. I think you are going to have to put this somewhere in the STD. Even if you call and tell people you have the guy who gets there and goes "you never told us that". It is always easier to put it in writing so people can refer back to it. Hopefully by doing that it will encourage more people to book with your TA. As the time gets closer and the number of people who have not booked with your TA get smaller, you can double check and call each of them. You might want to put some marketing spin. Instead of saying it so straight out, turn it around as a positive thing. Something like for everyone staying with us at the Excellence you will be saving some money by not having to buy a day pass (usually $70).
  17. I agree with becks too. Have it at the gazebo. No one will even notice if the chairs are a little close together because they will all be looking at you!!
  18. We will be engaged for 2.5 years. This is mostly for everyone to save some money.

I LOVE THIS!! This is definetly one I am going to consider for the wedding. We are going to do a quilt for our AHR book. Everyone will write something on a quilt sqaure and then my FMIL is going to sew them together. Here is an example I found:

This site has a great list and you should be able to find one on there that fits exactly what you need. Not sure if your photographer is willing but maybe the day before he/she might like to go out and take a look at your top selections to see when the best lighting would be....

With regards to cutting out non-coloured bits of the logo, I guess we can get around this by making sure the whole thing is coloured in, right? Thanks! No they are not expensive. It came out to $1.50 per sheet for 10 sheets when I did the kids shirts. And since the sheets are 8 x 11 you can probably get more than on monogram on each sheet when you print it. If you order more than 10 sheets the prices goes down. Yea you can make the whole thing colored as long as you don't try to match the brown on the bag. The ink from a printer comes close but not exact. Here is the link. They are called opaque iron-on transfers. Opaque Inkjet Transfer Paper Let me know if you have anymore questions, Carla
