I have a wedding band I wear with my e-ring, but I also have another plain (no diamonds) band that I wear to the gym, doing stuff around the house, or when I'm not in the mood to wear much jewellery. We used both in the ceremony...he put my diamond wedding band on my left hand, and my plain one on my right hand...I'm a huge advocate of the extra wedding band because I actually wear it quite often.
  2. Participated in a "try-a-tri" triathlon today! 100m swim, 500m run transition, 10.5km bike, 2km run....it took me about an hour and was a lot of fun!
  3. In preparation for my try-a-triathlon on Sat morning, I did my final brick training which is the full cycle followed by the run. So I did 30 min of cycling and a 20 min run last night. Tonight I'll be doing my final swim session before the tri...I'll be swimming 1500m in 45min with 100m sprint intervals and some leg only work.
  4. Aw, congrats on the boys Kayte! And you and your bump look beautiful! Any extra junk in the trunk will be burned off running after those two little munchkins once their born, so don't worry about it! Courtney - Glad to hear you're still sleeping well! Only a few more weeks - so exciting!
  5. Congrats to all the mommies and mommies to be! I keep tabs on this thread because I love hearing about all the new preggies and babies. My DH and I have been discussing our timeline since before we were married, and have planned to start trying in and around our 2nd anniversary. Recently, we have both decided we are ready to be parents and have decided I will go off the pill in September. I have an appointment at the end of August with my doctor to discuss prenatal care, but I have been prepping for this since we were married. I have been taking prenatals rather than regular multi-vitamins since Jan 2009, and have been eating clean, working out 5 days a week limiting my alcohol intake for the last 6 months. I want to go into pregnancy as healthy as possible, so I figured I'd start early, and then it will be natural to continue these habits all the way along (or as much as possible). We are waiting until September since the summer is so busy with weddings and showers that I don't want to be pregnant and trying to keep it hidden. Plus I really want a fall baby, so I am hoping to get KU in Dec/Jan.....but we all know that its not up to me! I'll be keeping tabs on this thread, and I'll let you all know when its my turn to be a mommy-to-be!

  10. Supposed to be my rest day, but I'll be getting a short run in after happy hour tonight....wish me luck! Just 2km to prep for the try-a-tri in 2.5 weeks.

  12. I ran a mile yesterday and did an hour of yoga, and tonight I'll be doing an hour of weights after work.

After body pump yesterday, I ran a 1km on the treadmill to time myself...I have a mini-triathlon in 3 weeks where I need to run 2km so I'm just trying to figure out my timing...I'm currently running it in 9minutes which is slow, I'd like to cut that down to 7.5min/km if I can. Tonight after work, an hour in the pool swimming 2km, with 100m sprints throughout.
  14. Three hours of yard work today and an hour of yoga to stretch out my tight back
  15. Back from Panama, and back to the grind. An hour of yoga last night, and an hour of Body Pump tonight.
  16. An hour of Body Pump last night and an hour of spin this morning! Leaving for Panama in 2 days, gotta get it all in!
