Hey Girls Wow I have so much to catch up on! Mylene we may be at the resort at the same time! Im arriving on the 19! Ginalyn and those who already had their big day -- did you have to pay extra to have the beach reception? I want my reception either on the beach or in the gazebo but not sure if I have to pay for it. Ahh It's getting soo close, less than 3 months away! Cheers Rain

I am in healthcare and already am immune to Hep B, but since I am going to the Mayan Riviera this Nov (unrelated to wedding) I thought now would be a good time and didn't want to bother with a Dr appt if I didn't need to. Any thoughts? Hi Lindsay, I went to a walk in clinic to get my Twinrix. If you already have your Hep b, you can just get a hep a and it's suppose to be much cheaper. When I took the twinrix i have to take 3 shots, 1st shot, 1 month and 6 months. I am not sure if it's the same for hep a. Dr told me I need at least my first and 2nd shot the 3rd( 6 month) can be anytime. Hope that helps. When you see your dr, they will write a persc to get the shot. It took me 2 hours in total... -Rain -

It actually came to to 420 USD fo 2 people in a garden view room for one night.

Hi, Im just catching up on this thread and wow, leave for a few week and miss so much! Does anyone know what time the sun sets? I originally had my wedding time booked for 3, reading somewhere that the sun sets around 5-6. Am I on crack? I would much rather have my ceremony at 5 instead but i want my pictures to be in the sun! Thanks a million!

Yes it is a return flight.. My TA is in florida and Im in Calgary, saw reviews on the internet about the TA and went for it. Although sometimes I wish I had went with a Canadian TA, but im booked so no looking back. Since she is in US, and I am CAD, she told me to book my flight through CA and talked me out of a Charter flight ( Which WJ is but I don't count them) I've only looked at prices for WJ and the cheapest I've seen is 550 Return, and DON"T EVEN bother with AC. The prices are really low on the website right now so my guest who are staying 7 days are paying about 1100 USD and 350 for flight. The US dollar is also AWESOME so I opened up a US bank account where I just transfer funds into when I have the funds to take out later... so all in all, for 7 days ( for the cheapest room) we end up paying about 1800CAD. I don't have a group rate since I wasn't sure who all was going and didn't want to pay for the deposits or extra room.. I think it's all coming together now but it's still 5 months away.. Let me know if you have any more questions! I got my dress from Alfred Younge.. its sooo beautiful! All I have to say is you will know the one when you have it on Good Luck!

I LOVE westjet! I currently have a request in through their groups department to find out what group rate I can get, so when they get back to me I will for sure post and let you know! The only drawback so far - they told me it can take anywhere from 72hrs to a week for someone to get back to me (www.westjetvacations.com). I'd been working with one travel agent but sadly the prices that she was coming back with were continually higher than others I'd been seeing - and by a couple hundred dollars or more sometimes! When are you thinking of getting married? You should check out the westjet vacations site because they've got some good prices listed right now! As for why I chose DPA instead of the other dreams resorts, it honestly had to do a lot with location. My FH and I were at another resort just a couple minutes north of Playa del Carmen last year and we really liked the area so when it came time to looking at resorts, that was where we started. Neither of us wanted to be up near Cancun and Tulum was a bit far south. So the DPA was a happy medium! Hi! Im from Alberta and I booked my flight leaving Calgary into Cancun with a layover of 1 hour in Huston for 350 CAD Each Person! I don't know what sort of quotes WJ is giving but this is killer deal! I booked through Continental Airlines so they may still have those prices left? My entire wedding booked though CA. Good Luck!

If I book now at those prices and they actually come out lower, then I have been told I will get the lower price. Also, there may be early booking bonuses avail. but again....you won't know till the packages come out. Talk to a few travel agents and get some quotes. GOOD LUCK! Hey Beautiful Bride, thats very good to know. Unfortunately I've already booked with a TA in the USA but maybe I can look into a tour operator for my guest. Which one are you using?

2010 Brides

Hello 2010 Brides, Im getting married Jan 22, 2010 at Dreams Puerto Aventuras. I am waiting for the stds from my travel agent to send out, My FI wants to send the actual invitations out with the stds ( Travel contact and info) at the same time, are any of you girls planning on doing this too? I figured if I have all the information.. why not? In terms of picking a resort, i've changed my mind from Rui Ocho Rios to Dreams Peruto Aventuras.. I think for me I just had to pick one and stop looking, if I kept looking I was bound to find something I thought was better.. Im happy with my choice and now all I hear is good stuff about it. I originally wanted to spend 1500 for my guest, they can still do it for 3 nights stay..If my quest wants to make a vacation out of it, they will have to consider spending a little more money, and it is left up to them. I hope this helps. Good Luck with planning! -
Bianca, I just spoke with my wc and she said that the Honeymoon suite and the Preferred club ocean view is pretty much the same thing except for the honeymoon you are guarantee a jacuzzi. Have you heard of this also? She also mention that with the honeymoon suite, you get the preferred club benefits. ( I've just emailed for confirmation ) None the less, I booked!!!! I finally got something done

Hi, I've noticed a lot of girls have had to change their mind about this resort because the prices have gone up, If things go up.. they must come down right? When did you book yours and was it a good deal? Did you find that your price quotes were comparable? I just don't want to ask my guest to spend TOO much money. Some other questions. 1. Did you book through a charter flight? 2. Did you book through your airline? 3. For Canadian brides, were you able to get a Canadian quote? I havn't booked mine yet and alittle hesitant if they prices are going to go down.. do you know when the prices go down? if at all? Any info you can share will help thank you

marryinghimagain, I too switched from ROR to DPA, I TOO am questioning my switch, although nothing has been booked yet since my wedding date isn't until Jan 2010. I am not too sure anymore since picking a resort is the hardest thing to do. What made you girls choose DPA? I am so worried that I picked the wrong resort and the pricing doesn't suit my guest.. but at the same time it's MY wedding After reading all your post tho, I do feel a little better...

Hi, may be stupid question. Will the pool be open for the pool side reception? And is it private? Does anyone have pictures to a pool side reception? it sounds like a great idea.
