Needing to focus now on finding a photographer, videographer, chosing the reception venue, etc. Grooms are TOTALLY allowed! Must be tough being a guy on here, with everything geared towards "brides"! Your fiance is lucky that you are taking charge of the planning... not that I would want my fiance to be in charge, but he could be a little more involved. You would never catch him on this or any other online wedding forum, lol! Good luck with your photographer search - I responded to one of your other threads on that; hopefully I was some help

As for your quote though, I am assuming that you are talking about a package price through one of the Canadian tour operators (though I shouldn't totally assume since I'm Canadian also, and we're not using an air/hotel package). The kids are free deal, if it applies, only applies to the hotel portion of the trip. So with a tour operator, their package will be less than adults but not free because it includes airfare.

Any Laser Hair Removal Experiences?
Princess402 replied to rosieposie's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
I just had my first bikini treatment today, and based on what I've read on here I think I must be a bit of a freak 'cause it really didn't hurt much at all!!! At it's worst, it felt like hairs being tweezed but that was only a small section at the top. Most places I could only feel a little, or not even at all. Compared to a bikini wax, this was a breeze. And no numbing cream either. Hopefully it works! I'm ecstatic -

I want my girls to wear royal blue chiffon dresses, knee-length but in any style they choose. Mori Lee seems to have the most dresses, and the most reasonably priced, that fit this criteria. Here's a link to the bridesmaids dresses I am thinking of, but there's lot's to choose from in this line in terms of style/fabric (and colour): Mori Lee Bridesmaid Dresses - Buy Bridesmaid Dresses at Best Bridal Prices We haven't ordered any yet but I know I need to do this soon!

The pool terrace is a concrete patio area up by the pools somewhere... though I'm not exactly sure where.

PMing you about the passport holders!

Quote: Originally Posted by nikkimadril I've heard these coupons mentioned before. Do you get these just for having your wedding there or is this because of something else? Anyone know? It's not just for weddings, it's a promo that they've had going on at different times, and seems to often be promised for group bookings. I think when the resort first opened guests were getting $200 in coupons, but more recently I think it's more like $100. I'm not sure exactly how the coupons work, but it has been discussed on this thread before.... it's broken down so it's like $20 for wine, $40 for the spa, $40 towards a private dinner, etc. Usually the credit can only be applied if you've maid a certain minimum purchase, so it's not like you are getting something totally free, but discounted.

I'm totally starting to feel a "it's less than 6 months away!" panic today. Fortunately I have been doing a lot of wedding stuff lately... finalizing our wedding party, shopping for OOT stuff and bridal party gifts, and actually picked out and ordered my flower girl dresses (and my nieces actually like them, which is a bit of a freakin miracle itself!). So that's good. But still lots more to do. Actually I should be cutting out my passport invites right now but I am procrastinating, lol.

I ordered these bracelets for my flower girls for just $3 each!!! (seller was HeatherAnne27: HeatherAnne27 on Etsy) They just came in the mail yesterday and they are super cute - love them and can't beat the price!

I'm going for my first treatment on Tuesday to get my bikini area done - I can't wait! I got a really good deal on a 4 treatment package, so hopefully it all goes well since now I have paid in advance, lol! -
Dollar Tree Tote Bags
Princess402 replied to kball21's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I'm so excited! I went cross-border shopping yesterday to, among other things, search the local dollar trees and hunt for these bags. So the first store I went to had like 14, which wasn't enough, but the manager called around to the other local stores to see if they had any (to save me from driving around - how nice is that?!?) and I was super bummed when it was looking like no one else had any left. I gave him my number in case more turned up, and he said he would call a bunch more stores for me... and just before I finally gave up and left he found another store in Washington that did have some, so he's having them sent up to his store for me so I can buy all I need next week! These bags are unbeatable for a buck!!! -
Welcome Beck! I imagine all of these resorts would allow you to do a beach wedding and reception (though I am no expert!). Dreams of course has a great reputation for weddings. I looked into Sandos briefly as well and it seemed like their pricing was quite reasonable, and I seem to remember that the wedding coordinator was very responsive to a few questions I had. The other resorts look great as well Good luck narrowing it down and making a final choice. I know I found that to be THE hardest part of planning a destination wedding. Once that's done it's such a huge relief!

Loved your bridesmaids dresses and hairflowers especially. Great colours! And everyone looked like they were having so much fun, awesome. Here's the deal with that though - you won't know which restaurant until you get there and it is based on occupancy. So it can be done, but you'll have to have a plan b in case it doesn't work out. Are you paying extra to have your welcome dinner in the closed down restaurant?

I agree, why not have two MOHs? Honestly, I'm a firm believer in adpating etiquette rules to each unique situation. You can configure your bridal party however you want! I'm not having an MOH, just BMs, that way everybody is equal and no hard feelings!!!

Who paid for your dress
Princess402 replied to Lindslou's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Lindslou, I think I totally get what you are saying and feel bad that you are having this experience. I know that it's not about the $$$. I think that I have a fairly similar situation in that my dad passed away 5 years ago, and so getting married without him is just plain hard. I guess I had always hoped that my mom would get that, and would really step up to the plate to make this time special for me, especially since my dad is not here to share in it. Getting the dress was definitely something important that I looked forward to sharing with her. She has gone dress shopping with me, but I have basically had to force her into it. She's just not enthusiastic about it, and while she tries to be supportive, she has not had any sort of emotional reaction to seeing me in a wedding dress. For me, it was really disappointing. That being said, I think she is just not a wedding person. Anyways, she did really like the dress I ended up choosing and I too was kind of hoping that she would buy it for me, but nope. It's not because I wanted her to give me money, but just that it would be a really special gift from her to me. It really and truly is not about the money, and this might sound dumb, but I just want her to WANT to do something special for me. I want her to care that I'm getting married! I'm hoping that maybe she will surprise me and buy my veil or something, but I feel kind of doubtful. Anyways, again, sorry you are going through this. My mom didn't buy my dress either. And I totally get that it's not about the cost of the dress being covered, it's about what your mom buying your dress would have meant to you. It's so hard planning a wedding without your dad, and even harder when your mom doesn't quite live up to your expectations. I really hope she surprises you by doing something else before your big day! -

But my resort actually tied them EXACTLY the way they were done in the inspiration pic. I thought it looked great and people even commented about it (who knew sashes would make such an impact:) What a great idea!!! I showed this to FI last night, versus the traditional way that most chair sashes are tied, and he loved it! So hopefully we are going to do this too.

Needs a little dress help
Princess402 replied to Bride2Be21's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Yeah that was a glorious day for me when I found out that most necklines can be easily altered to a sweetheart! They can let you know the possibilities at whatever shop you're at, and even pin it down for you so you can have a better idea of what it would look like. And it's not expensive - I think it's costing me $25 to have mine altered to a sweetheart neckline, and I was quoted that same price at a few stores I went to. -

I wonder if you just get technicians, or someone low level, unless you specifically request Doremixx or Mannia? Both have gotten such fantastic reviews it's hard to believe that they could be behind any of the bad DJ reviews I have seen from DRC. (And obviously DJ Doremixx wasn't there that night - thanks for letting us know Ivan!)
