Anyone had any recent experiences with trying to bring starfish through customs in Mexico? I REALLY want starfish for my placecards, but am hesitating to order.... I don't want them to be seized at the airport!

Anyone else have some wonderfully reassuring stories they can share? My beautiful Blue by Enzoani Caldera dress finally came in and I went for my first fitting on the weekend... and it's huge!!! Gawd I want to cry. At the time I ordered, a 14 was too tight on me so I ordered a 16 though I knew it would be too big. But the shop owner assured me it was no problem to take in, and so much easier to take in than let out, so best to order the bigger size. Well I have lost a bit of weight since then so I really should have gotten a 14, or maybe even a 12! So happy with myself for being able to lose some weight but the dress is wayyyy too big now And the seamstress is telling me that because of the construction of the dress, she can do her best to take it in where she can, but it's not going to end up fitting me like it should. What?!?!?! She says this dress would have been easier to let out a little than to take in THIS much - this information is really useful to me now with my wedding less than a month away and no other alternatives! I want to cry!!!!! I'm going to be soooo stressed out till I see it again. I'm praying for miracles...

Well ladies, we've been engaged for over two years now, our wedding is less than two months away, and we just did an engagement shoot earlier this week. Can you tell I like to procrastinate?!? More like I am going to school, working, renovating our apartment, and trying to plan a wedding all at the same time! Lol. In keeping with my scatter-brained ways, it was fairly unplanned, and as you can see, we kept it pretty casual, not too "made up". I'm so happy that we did it though!!! Unfortunately I actually think it is pretty rare to have your wedding day all to yourself at Dreams resorts! In fact I have heard that 3 or even 4 weddings a day are possible (CRAZY), though it sounds like the new WC has changed policy and is now limiting to 2 weddings per day. From what I have heard from past brides, this doesn't seem to be too much of an issue, as long as you've already requested where you want your ceremony and reception, etc, as those things could be unavailable if the other wedding has already requested them. They try to stagger the times of the ceremonies and it sounds like there's enough room to even have two receptions going on at the same time without one interfering with the other. I would love to have my wedding day to myself as well, but I won't be surprised if I'm not the only one getting married on my day either. Hopefully I will just have the bigger group and also get some priority since we booked so long ago! lol. BTW you are getting married one day after me!!!

We are doing kind of the same thing, just having an informal "Welcome to Mexico/Meet and Greet" cocktail gathering. I don't know about private space, but I was informed by the folks on the Facebook Fan Page that my best options were the lobby bar or Desires. And since we will have kids there as well we are opting for the lobby bar. I was planning on putting everything in suitcases, but plastic tubs may not be a bad idea either! With the suitcases I have a bunch that are a set and get stored inside of one another (if you know what I mean), so I figured I could just send one empty suitcase back with someone (filled with the other empty suitcases that I used to bring everything down!).

This is so true! If you wanted you could literally pick your date, book your flight, and just go. Everything will be sorted out there once you arrive. Much of our stress is self-induced by fussing over details! Not that I would have it any other way

Angie good for you with your to-do list, but you are FREAKING ME OUT with all you've got checked off already!!! lol. beck, I'm getting married at 3pm. I'm not sure how great that time is, but hopefully it will be early enough to have lots of daylight for pictures, but not too late that we are rushed or that we totally miss out on cocktails with our guests before dinner.

Ladies what time are you getting your hair and makeup done at? My ceremony is at 3pm and I have no idea what time to request an appointment for.

Wow Lindsey that's crazy! Congrats on buying a house though!!! I still have SO much to do, lots of little details. This week has been SUPER stressful as it's the last week our group booking is open. Total chaos. And we ended up losing some money on a room that wasn't filled - like I don't have enough stress. Feeling kinda bummed too about a number of very important people to me that have decided not to come. I'm trying to get in the mindset of "it's their loss", but it's hard, I'm still disappointed no matter what. We still have a pretty big group going though, so can't be too upset. Definitely makes me appreciate all those people that are coming that much more! I tried to make myself feel better (and more on top of things) by ordering some things for the wedding this week: chair sashes, table runners, and our maraca favors. Believe it or not, it worked! Still lots to do, but everytime I can check something off my list I can breathe a bit easier.
