I love the tats I got one when I turned 30 - a lizard on my foot. I just turned 40 last week and I think I should get another one. I haven't decided what or where yet, but your post just made me more excited to go out and get it done! Terri

BDW Biggest Loser Season 2 Official CHAT thread...
babyg replied to Alyssa's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
I have been up and down the past while. I am a lifetime member at WW but thought I would try some other ways. Oh well.... I went back to WW on Saturday. I have time before our wedding and I guess I need to do it the right way ... not the quickest way. I need to loose 15 - 20 pounds before Cuba in December and I wouldn't mind fitting into shorts this summer. At the rate I was going I needed bigger shorts. Here is to a new week with more support and focus! Cheers! -
Are you going to get her commission at the end for all the people purchasing trips with her? I think she should do her work and on top of that, thank you for all the money she just made from your wedding planning. The nerve!

Hi There I think I know how you feel. I don't have words to make you feel better unless misery loves company. My parents are not coming at all to my wedding. A bit is about money but the rest is about my mom and her irrational fears. She thinks I am crazy for having a DW and thinks I have made a big mistake. She has even told me that. She has complained about the amount of money it is costing as we have six family members to pay to get down there. Ugggg It does suck some fun out of it. For the most part I ignore her but it does hurt. I can commiserate with you.

Hi hear you all and if I were a younger bride I would feel the same as you. I am at a different chapter in my life and my FI and I don't intend to have any children together. We already have kids. One child is mine and three are his and all combined is 4 wonderful kids. The youngest is 11 and the rest are all teens. One will head off to university next year. That ship has sailed, lol I do regret not getting to experience having a baby together but our lives are full and we see the light at the end of the tunnel - 3 heading off to universtiy within years - yikes. No new babies here!

Oh Wow So very romantic and special. Something you will remember always and can have your grand kids listen to.

BDW Biggest Loser Season 2 Official CHAT thread...
babyg replied to Alyssa's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Well I am starting to see some results. I got all motivated and ordered Turbo Jam a while back and it came in just over three weeks ago. For the first few weeks I worked out like a dog but no loss and even gained a bit last weigh in. I got the working out part going but just couldn't get the healthy eating part down. Well... one of you mentioned (maybe not in this thread) about flat belly diet. I went to our Chapters but the book is not out for a while. I went on line and joined the program. I can pick out my menu and get my shopping list and the diet is not bad at all. The first four days is a little less food to get you started. I started on Wednesday and from my scale I have lost 5 pounds from my starting weight and about 6 1/2 pounds down from last Wednesday. I am very excited! Thanks to all of you to getting me on the right track. -
My FI and I went on a date night on Friday .... went and had a nice dinner then went to the movies. We ended up seeing Iron Man, and I was very surprised..... I loved it. I am not the comic book type and this movie was made for the general public. Lots of action and a great story line that keeps you guessing and surprised. I guess I would have been less surprised if I had read the comic books. lol All in all ... a great date night and a great movie. Next time I take him to see Sex In the City. hehe

Here is one I copied from the internet involving children: You can use different colors of sand for each individual (and even different vases if you wish) which are then poured into the one large container representative of your family. _______________ and ______________, today you join your lives together. These bottles of sands of various colors symbolize your individual spirits of you and that of ____'s daughter_____. Each container is unique, representing who you are. As these containers of sand are poured into a third larger container, the different colors will join together to form something quite beautiful. You are joined together today, not only in marriage, but as family. (After the sand is poured, the minister may bestow a blessing. It can be as simple as follows or something more elaborate.) May this marriage and family be harmonious and blessed from this day forward without end. Here is one just for the couple: Officiant: (Bride/Groom) and (Groom/Bride) now come forth to seal their relationship through the mixing of the sands. Just as two lives together now join to become one, so will the individual sands become one as they are poured. It would be impossible to separate these sands, just as it would be impossible to separate (Bride/Groom) and (Groom/Bride)'s lives after today. This covenant is a relationship pledge between two people who love each other heartily and who agree that they will commit themselves to one another throughout their lives. Officiant: Now we shall celebrate this union as it is symbolized through the pouring of two individual containers of sand. One represents (Bride/Groom) and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be. The other represents (Groom/Bride) and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be. As the two vials of sand are poured into the third keepsake vase, the individual containers of sand ceased exist as they are now joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual vases, so will the love and bond between the two of you render you inseperable. Just google ... there are tons to choose from .... or get a good idea of what you would like. Good luck

How much is too much to ask your guests to pay?
babyg replied to yamille's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
My guests are paying $1689 taxes in, for 1 week in Cuba during the week of New Years Eve... which is higer than other times. For those people that love to trave it is great ... they get a holiday ... get to attend our wedding and celebrate New Years in paradise. The down side is some people that I would really want there are not able to come because of the price. I don't think shaving a 100 or 200 would have helped with them though. I did look at the Rui's in the Mayan Riviera and there were a variety of hotels and prices .... high end to more affordable. If you can find a chain, you can stay at the higher end and guests can choose a more affordable hotel if they like. There were no day pass fees this way. -

Cost of wedding bands
babyg replied to Nene's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Wow - that is way too much for me.... but I know many people who think nothing about investing in Jewelry. As for what we are doing about our bands.... I have a big wide beautiful engagement ring and I have tried all kinds of wedding bands with it. It just makes my hand/fingers look shorter. I even considered having a ring custom made. I have finally decided that I am not going to have a band and my FI will slip the engagement ring on my finger during the vows. We will spend about $500 on a band for my FI. At least that is the cost of the ring he likes so far. Nothing fancy, his taste. Good luck with picking out bands. -
He sounds like a real @#$#hole. I feel for you. I lived in a townhouse for 4 1/2 years (moved last Feb) and had a neighbour who was a jerk.... but not as bad or as passive agressive as this. Good luck with the animal complaint. Do you have a neighbour on the other side who can act as witness?

Incorporating teens into DW
babyg replied to eastman2be's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I will be watching your post to see what peoples responses are because I am in a similar situation. Me and my FI are getting married this Dec and will have been together 7 1/2 years. I have one son who will be 15 in Dec and my FI has 2 sons and a daughter (18, 11, 16). We want to have the kids involved in the wedding. They will all be in the wedding party. So far I thought of doing the sand ceremony together as a family and having one child read a poem. My son will walk me down the aisle as my dad won't be there. The young one won't be a problem... he will get into things ... it is the older ones I worry about. Thanks for the post.
