Man, I wish I would have read this thread before we bought our plane tickets. We wanted to do our legal marriage here in VA on Feb 3rd (our first date & the day he proposed) because I wanted to keep everything the same date. I didn't want to have the ceremony on a Tuesday in Mexico. But it makes pretty good sense to do it at home because we would be saving like $600 and we don't have to worry about all of the legal stuff down there. And I don't mind changing my last name when we get back. Question, did some of you ladies just go to the Justice of the Peace or did you do a whole ceremony? I don't mind people knowing we got "legally" married beforehand so I was thinking of just going to get married and have maybe 5 people at the most there and do like a lunch or dinner afterwards.

We are getting married at 3pm in March. I hope I don't have too much of a problem with the weather.

Yeah, the other ladies are right. It takes so long to reach it's full maturity and plus the rate isn't that great. If your dead set on getting him one you can always go to savingsbond.gov to read more info on them.

Yeah you need his social and usually a beneficiary name on it. Like either of his parents name. And their address. What type of bond you want, I, E or EE and in what denomination. That should be it. Hope this helps.
