I am in wedding overload (watching every wedding program known to mankind, reading magazines and books) So I have seen them being used more than I thought but I don't think they are overplayed! Chances are people at your wedding haven't been seeing them everywhere either.

I think it sounds very professional. I would suggest saying something about hoping to see everyone in the Riviera Maya however....( We understand that because of the distance and cost not everyone will be able to be with us in the Riviera Maya. So we will be holding a celebration in Michigan upon our return home. Please do not feel bad if you are unable to attend. The greatest gift you can give is to celebrate with us, whether in the Rivera Maya or at home in Michigan.) I think this expresses to your friends and family your excitement about your DW and sharing it with them however you won't have hard feelings if they are unable to come. Hope this helps

We just finished ours this weekend! I can't wait to show you girls but I am going to have to wait for my hunny to get home to show me how to upload the pics to the website. I am so stupid when it comes to computers. I used a couple ideas from the boards and personalized it. Can't wait to post the finished product.

WOW!!! The flowers look amazing! I have been looking for a white orchid clip for my hair. How much are they and do can you post a pic of a white orchid clip? Do you have any aqua colored tropical flowers for my Bridesmaids? BTW Great job on them!

I really like your idea of using damask decor. It is really beautiful and elegant! Just because you are having a beach wedding doesn't mean you have to have anything beach related as your decor! Go with what you love.

congrats on your engagement and welcome! I am getting married in Key West but looking to have our honeymoon in Los Cabos. One of my coworkers stayed at One & Only Palmilla Los Cabos and said she loved it! She wants to go back every year and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. Great info, you can't beat those prices. I found some cute beach themed baskets at the dollar store by my house. They also have sunblock, after sun lotion and all sorts of other stuff. Just a suggestion!

have you found a site yet? The beachside resort has a nice beach area onsite for the ceremony and a nice ballroom for the reception and the Doubletree actually transports your guests from the beach ceremony back to the hotel for the reception. Just another couple ideas I found.

I know how you feel! Our wedding is a DW but in Key West so the travel isn't so bad for some as some guest already live in FL. There have been a lot of layoffs at my fiance's work and everytime they make the cuts we consider canceling the DW. But we have decided to continue with it since that is what we both want. With the price of our guests considered we found a nice B&B off the beaten path a little that is like $89 a night. The rooms don't have a TV but its own bathroom and the B&B has a really nice pool. I'm not sure if having a DW out of country you have similar options of discounted accomadations but its an idea Also I think a lot of people are nervous about making commitments in advance right now because of the economy but as your wedding gets closer you may find more guests realizing they can afford it.
