I'm not doing an AI but I was wondering the same things. From what I have read on the posts seems like $50 extra is the norm. Not sure why. I would email the coordinator from the hotel and ask them if they are offering something special for the extra money. Than maybe you could work something out with the resort

I'm surprised nobody mentioned your date to you sooner. Its been my experience most people can't wait to say something about your date- good or bad. I hope it all works out for you. On the bright side you don't need to recall all the invites since they weren't sent yet!?

I'm sitting here near West Palm Beach. Its just raining on and off kinda heavy at times. Thank God its just a tropical storm. The worst thing is going to be possible flooding and risk of a tornado. My wedding site is in Key West so we have been online a lot checking out the pics of the damage down there. The pier that our reception is on is ok. no real damage. Close call. Now if we could get through these next 3months without a problem I will be able to relax a little.

A friend of my FI lost his ring I think it was less than a month after they got married. The guys had gone a boating trip and this guy jumped off the boat and his ring went to the bottom. Apparently they searched for it for awhile but nothing. Needless to say his wife wasn't too happy. He got an inexpensive replacement!

So tragic!

14hr plane ride cja? I'm not sure if I would be able to handle that. Our wedding is in Key West so we'll just drive home a day or two after the wedding (only 4 hrs) and fly to costa rica from Ft.Lauderdale. I think the flights just over 3hrs. The hotel you picked is really nice and an all-inclusive! I haven't seen a lot of all inclusives in Costa Rica.

My FI and I have decided on Costa Rica for our honeymoon but I'm nervous about picking a hotel. I don't know anything about them except a few travel reviews posted on the hotels website. Anyone ever been to Tamarindo? My FI likes this place. Help I need tons of advise!

Welcome to the forum! I hear Jamaica has a lot of different all inclusives and alots of different options.

The sand on Smather's beach is nice. The beach is labeled at each stairway where you enter the beach. So you could just tell your guest meet us at our ceremony location 15 on Smathers beach. We are having our rehearsal dinner at Margaritaville. they have a great variety and they always have a band. There is also the conch republic seafood restaurant. Theres a cool restaurant called Two Friends Patio Restaurant. They do breakfast lunch and dinner. cool atmosphere and prices aren't bad. We are having our brunch at Blue Heaven Restaurant. (Another Jimmy Buffet reference) I just found restaurant guide I got last time we were in the keys. Southernmost beach cafe looks inexpensive they also serve breakfast lunch dinner and they are right on the water. Oh Schooner Wharf is a cool place I have only been there for drinks and dinner but they are open for break,lunch&dinner. good prices (its very key westy). My fiance and I love going to Guy Harvey's Island grill for lunch they also do dinner too. also check out The Menu - A Dining Guide to Paradise - Key West, Florida.

I live here in FL and it does rain like clock work most afternoons but only for about an hour or less than just overcast or back to sunny. So if you see dark clouds don't freak they will pass and your wedding will be beautiful! Congrats in advance!

The discount is do to it being hurricane season. Keeping my fingers crossed... most hurricanes happen around august/september that is high season but there is always that threat. But for half the price and a contract from ALL your vendors saying they will honor your agreements at a later date if a hurricane does threaten sounds perfect. Better go pick out a dress

Fortunately I live only 5hrs from Key West and My FI and I love every minute we have to go down there to plan. Needless to say we have been to the rum barrel and we always have a great time. The people are really nice and its a really cool atmosphere. As far as your invites go.. If you offer options on places to stay that are close to the action and /or the wedding/reception its up to your guests to book it themselves. Lots of places have websites they can book directly on. Provide the websites on the invites for a little extra help. BTW I am so excited to see more brides getting married in KW I was feeling a little lonely

I am getting married on the beach at fort Zach where the ocean mets the intracoastal. Its beautiful! Smathers beach is nice (white sand and all) however it is a public beach so there may be that one weirdo wearing a speedo watching your wedding or a woman sunbathing in a thong next to the ceremony site. Thats what turned us from using that beach. As far as flights go there is a direct flight I think on delta from atlanta direct to key west airport. Atl is pretty big so a lot of connecting flights fly into it. But the drive from MIA is nice.
