Grrrr. haha yeah my fiance asked me why i needed to go shopping for a wedding dress NOW ... i told him when i went to davids a couple weeks ago they were practically yelling at me for not having my dress picked yet!

LMAO i agree with phillybride that it's kinda like a hall you could have had at a home wedding, however, it's also the only reception option that is air-conditioned, so that's definitely something to consider! and of course it's nice to know the option is there so inclement weather can't totally destroy your wedding. dmarie made the best of it and her wedding was wonderful!

"if i didn't see the boots i wouldn't have known it was country" --what? yikes. i thougth it looked like a costume, and when i think about women in country music, i don't think of them in long skirts and that vest/shirt tied up deal. i did not like it. next week is looking like a good one! i'm excited for the final 3. yeah i hated leanne's country music outfit too. but, in her defense, she did have to design for a woman with some serious booty, and being a woman with a lot of junk-in-the-trunk myself, i have to say it must not be easy to create a good fit (none of my clothes fit right ... they always are way too big in the waist in order to fit my butt and hips, and always gape out in the back). i actually liked suede's look for jerell ... it was VERY lenny kravitz. if he had just gone more over the top with jerell's styling (given him a wild wig or something) i think it could have sold the look. it's not his fault jerell's everyday look is out there anyway! and what was going on with those high-waisted jeans kenley made? i didn't hate them like the judges did, but the fly didn't lay flat and there was weird gathering in the crotch area. how hard could leanne be to fit? she's a stick figure!

kenley just keeps getting worse and worse with the 'tude! she thinks she knows it all, and it drives me insane. how cute did she look all kenley-spears-ified tho? she's a very pretty girl. too bad her attitude makes her kinda ugly. jerell should win the whole thing, IMO. what was with the preview with ALL of them crying?

we decided on the pogues "love you til the end" back when we were still doing an at home wedding and tom was wearing a kilt, LOL. seems ages ago! so much has changed since then! anyway, we don't agree on much music-wise, so i went for a song by an irish band that was also in the end of a hockey movie (mystery alaska), and he actually went for it! now i kinda wish it was aqualung "brighter than sunshine" ... fits the destination wedding better. don't know if i should bother trying to change what took us so long to agree on in the first place though, ya know? i found a lot of songs i like ... i'll probably use them for pre-ceremony music and dinner music.

oh i get it now ... that sucks to have to change the date, but your FI's response was great ... reaffirms you've chosen the right guy! it will all work out ... and it will probably not be your last meltdown between now and your wedding day (whenever that is, LOL!) ... i just had one about an hour ago over bridal party issues, and i'm sure i'll have more. the important thing is you'll end up married to the man you love! -

I feel like I'm getting more laid back as the wedding gets closer. Is that weird? Oh, and as for guests being lazy about booking, that's just how it is. It'll all work out though! i'm pretty much doing the same ... i mean no one really remembers the cake unless it's REALLY different looking or super-delicious (which i never think wedding cake is). i'm not worried about it. and almost all flowers are pretty ... they're FLOWERS! all i care about is the general color (reds & oranges, and i know they can get those colors at my resort because i've seen plenty of BDW brides with them). also, no one i've invited has ever been to a destination wedding, so no one has any expectations, other than they probably expect it to be different from the norm. i don't think anyone would even blink if there weren't centerpieces. they'd probably just assume that's how it is in mexico!

do you mean which songs? or live vs. recorded music? i am renting my resort's (dreams cancun's) sound system for the ceremony, with which i can use cds or my ipod. plus the sound system was needed to mic the ceremony ... i hear it can sometimes be hard to hear your vows without it, especially if you're having a video done. for mexico, mariachis are always fun ... i'm saving them for cocktail hour tho. i'm not definite on songs yet ... i think i'll be using Israel Kamakawiwo'ole "Somewhere Over The Rainbow & What a Wonderful World" for the bridal party bride's processional is up in the air still, but some i like are: String Quartet Tribute to the Cure - "Just Like Heaven," and The Weepies - "Somebody Loved" recessional is probably "For Once in My Life" by Stevie Wonder (it was my parents' wedding song and i wanted to incorporate it)

What to say during the Sand Ceremony
cougs replied to Archie510's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Tlseege, i really like that wording with all the "journey" and "destination" stuff in it ... seems appropriate for a destination wedding, if you know what i mean! the following is what the wedding coordinator at dreams cancun sent me: "_________________ & _______________, you have just sealed your relationship by the giving and receiving of rings, and this covenant is a relationship pledge between two people who agree that they will commit themselves to one another throughout their lives. The most beautiful example of this partnership is the marriage relationship. You have committed here today to share the rest of your lives with each other. Today, this relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these two individual containers of sand one, representing you, ______________ and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, and the other representing you, _________________ and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be. As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be." not sure i love it with all the stuff about you no longer existing as individuals ... i like the other one better! -
i also saw a comment on his site from someone who was married at dreams cancun this past may. her comment included her email address, so i of course emailed her for more of her opinions/insight/hopefullyphotos, and sent her the link to this forum saying that there are a ton of brides on here who would love her input! i'll let you know whether i hear anything back ...

a lot of us had questions about the photographer included in the package at dreams ... it's supposedly this guy, juan navarro. here are some answers taken from the FAQ section of his own website: Q. 2 Will the photographer take only the pictures given on the selected package? * We always shoot more pictures than the selected package to offer you the very best. Q. 7 Will I have the opportunity to get all the pictures taken? * You will get the imprints of the pictures included in your package plus a DVD with all the pictures taken for you to print back home and share with your family and friends. All photos are HI-Quality and are stored in JPEGs (I use DVDs because they can store 4.7 Giga bytes, a lot more than CDs).
