How Did your FI ask for your hand?

people just suck. so sorry you're dealing with this crap so close to your wedding. sounds like your close friend eric is just really pissed off that this happened to him, and can you blame him? he probably was really excited to go and it was ripped out from under him! if he's not answering calls, i'd send him a long email saying how sorry you are this happened and you would still really love for him to be there. let him know his friendship is important to you, and that you would love to try to work something out. are you working with a travel agent? is there any way the other two "lost deposits" can just be applied to eric's room?? LOL probably not, but didn't you say it was like $400 worth of deposits on the room? that's a nice little chunk of the cost already paid! maybe he could stay fewer days?

go try on dresses that are similar to it in order to get an idea whether it works for you or not. also, definitely find out the return policy. it's beautiful and a bargain! -
I'm going to cry
cougs replied to heather007's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
i cried all day when i got my dress ... not tears of happiness, but tears of uncertainty! i kinda felt like i got railroaded into getting something that wasn't what i was looking for. it was beautiful, but way more dress than i wanted, and i never wanted heavy satin and beading and a long train. everyone cried and said it was the one. afterward, i realized it was the right dress, because it made me feel like a bride, and all the flowy beachy dresses that i thought i wanted just didn't. the more i look at it now, the more i love it! and to think, i would have never even tried it on if my girls weren't there with me! only problem now is i wonder how many other beautiful dresses i may have missed out on since i wasn't trying on anything satin/traditional! -

you definitely did the right thing ... we have no time in our lives for jealous, immature people! marry the man you love (and who loves you) and put the past behind you where it belongs! i have received 3 emails over the past year from random people on myspace (of course with no picture and unrevealing screen names) saying in various ways that i "should not get married" because my fiance "is cheating on me." i'm 99.9% sure it's one of our ex-assholes trying to start shit. besides that, i'm 100% sure it's not true. the first time, i replied "nice. real mature." the next two times, i didn't even give them the pleasure of a response. i'm too old for the teenager nonsense. and i love and trust tom completely. no idiot making up fake myspace accounts is going to change that.

happy wedding day! can't wait to hear all about it and of course SEE PICS (it's what we live for here!)

did you pay for a bunch of extra photographer time? it was my understanding that you only get him for about an hour with the package. -
thanks for the congrats ladies, but truly it is an undeserved win for me this week ... i literally did nothing to earn it and have no idea how i lost so much! like i said, it will be a struggle not to gain it all back by next weigh-in. i couldn't resist getting on the scale again this morning and it already reads 2.5 lbs higher than yesterday!?

My Dress :) Ordered it yesterday!
cougs replied to lgarner83's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
the dress is gorgeous and a great buy, too! just promise us you don't plan on crimping your hair like the model, LOL! -
before deciding to go with a destination wedding, halloween '09 was our wedding date ... i love halloween and autumn in general so it was a no-brainer for us when we saw it fell on a saturday. in fact it would probably still be on halloween if it weren't hurricane season ... didn't want to take the chance! if you aren't crazy about the idea, i'd say don't do it. there are ways to do it elegantly tho so give it some consideration. it doesn't have to be all orange & black and costumes if you don't want it to be. we were not planning on allowing costumes, but our centerpieces were going to be jack o'lanterns carved with our monogram, there would have been a candy buffet, etc.

i had a big 5 lb loss this week ... admittedly, i have no idea how this is even possible because i was not especially good this week with eating and didn't get even to the gym once. what i'm trying to say i guess is that it's a total fluke, and i'm going to have to bust my ass to keep it from going right back up next week! ... but you should have seen how fast i grabbed the camera, LOL!

ARE YOU KIDDING?! i will be a freakin MESS! LOL! there was already much bawling this weekend just dress shopping! i found the one, and everyone started crying when i came out in it, but i wasn't sure ... then they put a veil on my head and i was DONE! we were all laughing and crying at the same time because i SO have "ugly cry face." and my mom said that tom was going to cry when he saw me ... God i hope not because i will be a disaster if i see him crying! i cry at everything ... happy, sad, commercials, movies, the election last night, so i'm with whomever said "if i didn't cry there'd be something wrong with me" LOL! i always wear all waterproof makeup because i'm constantly in tears. you'd think by now i would have figured out how to cry pretty, but not so much. and OMG ... don't get me started on the father/daughter dance ... i let my dad pick the song and to my chagrin he picked a country song that is a total tearjerker: "i loved her first" ... i'm not getting thru that one alive!

Financial Responsibility...who pays for what??
cougs replied to klktx's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
unfortunately we are completely responsible for all our wedding costs, both away and at home, LOL! i thought if i was lucky my mom might offer to buy my wedding dress, but that didn't happen either, haha. but if you're from the traditional "bride's family pays for the wedding" mindset, i would say sit down with your your parents and ask them what they are willing to cover. normally, the reception is the part that has the big price tag, and is therefore what the bride's parents pay for, but in this case it's not the actual wedding, so i don't know. i would think they'd pay for the dreams wedding and reception there, but not the AHR. personally, i have never heard of the groom's family being financially responsible for anything, except the rehearsal dinner. -

I have to cut back on alot that we wanted and I'm pretty dissapointed right now. I mean, don't get me wrong, I have the Ultimate package and a 1 bedroom master suite for 7 days...But there were things I wanted to go all out on and it's just not possible. You don't know how bad I wish we decided on this destination wedding last year when we got engaged :-( I would have been so much more prepared right now. But with only 9 months to save...And more then a handful of people coming, its hard to do it all on a little budget. It's ok though, I'm confident that our wedding will be beautiful and a great time for all. Just thought I would vent a little about my dissapointment :-) Thanks for listening :-) i hear ya jennifer ... i can't seem to talk tom into spending the extra on claudia rodriguez. i was hoping to get more in trade outta the WC, thinking that would be more convincing, but to no avail. we also have the ultimate package and a jr. jacuzzi suite for 7 nights, so i guess i should quit my b*tching, huh? LOL ... it will be a GREAT time for everyone who goes, no matter what we spend! i just don't want it to end up costing as much as a wedding at home would have by the time all is said and done with a party at home afterward and everything! speaking of great time ... i was given a fantastic surprise by my family ... they are all chipping in to help my MOH be able to come to the wedding! she had no idea either until we were out dress shopping this weekend! we were squealing and crying and jumping up and down like idiots, LOL! i'm so excited ... she's my niece and most favorite person in the world! she & her hubby are now putting off their baby-making efforts until after the wedding.

But that just my 2 cents can we see your photos from juan? (sorry if you've already posted them). i'm glad you were happy with them and wouldn't have spent the extra $$$, but you did spend it on TTD ... and those are GORGEOUS. if you didn't also have those shots, would you still have been happy with just what you got from juan? also i've been anxiously awaiting a full review from you, and dancingdolphin. i haven't missed them, have i?

My OOT bags for $3!!!!!!!!!!
cougs replied to Jacilynda's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
oooh! i've been eyeing those bags at walmart for awhile but every time i looked they were still like ten bucks! my only issue is i thought they'd take up a lot of packing space ... not sure how many you're doing. -
