  3. Toolhaus.org i know lots of us are ebay shoppers, so i thought this might prove useful for some of you. some sellers have sold literally *thousands* of items, so even if they've received several "negatives" in even the past month, their "positive" percentage can still be very high (and misleading), and you'd have to scroll through pages and pages of feedback to see their negatives. with this tool you can simply type in the seller ID and get all their negative feedback at once!

But, it wouldn't have been the same experience. So, I'm glad we did it the way we did it and I think it was worth (just about) every penny. i agree that a wedding for 40 people could be done cheaper at home (tho definitely NOT the same experience), but for us, the fact is that if we got married here at home we'd be *expected* to have a wedding for about 200 people, not 40. it's like people only understand the concept of a small, intimate wedding when it's a destination! glad you had the wedding of your dreams!

  6. btw ladies, I WIN! we were at the american museum of natural history in NYC this weekend, and they had this nifty "your weight on the moon" scale ... i was tempted to send ann this pic as my final weigh-in, but i didn't think she'd buy that i lost over 200 lbs in one week! hehe ... hmmm ... destination wedding on the moon?
  7. i'm so excited that we seem in agreement that 12 weeks will be better ... i think it's perfect (not too short, not too long)! overall, i did slightly better than in BL3 ... in this round, i lost a total of 11.5 lbs. (some of it was re-losing weight i had gained back in between contests!). unfortunately, with the arrival of my period THIS MORNING (of course, on the day of the final weigh-in ... can't catch a break, LOL!) also came the arrival of another small weight gain (two weeks in a row ... sigh). hopefully the next round won't perfectly coincide with my cycle, LMAO! may the best LOSER win!

  10. morgan, you've made a HUGE difference! you must be so proud! i think it's great you're already gearing up for BL5 and finding ways you can help others. it's people like you who make this forum indispensable and such a pleasure to be a part of.
  11. i LOVE them! wish i had done something like that, but instead my crazy fiance sent out an email to his whole family about "beer & taco fest '09" LOL! here it is for your amusement. i swear he's a nutcase. we then skipped STDs altogether, and are moving straight to invites. Hello All, Most of you know already that Lisa and I are due to be married next year. That is right! Tom bought a ring, and when Lisa was drunk enough not to realize what she was saying, he asked her to marry him, and she said yes! After looking high and low for an affordable place to have the wedding the choice became obvious, leave the land of Bush’s tyranny. The next step was to figure out where on the planet to have this momentous occasion. We spent the next several months deciding where to go away to. After visiting a travel agent and looking for the most affordable place for everyone we came to the decision of Cancun, Mexico. Cancun, you ask? Why would you choose Mexico? Well there are 3 reasons why we chose Mexico: Corona. Who doesn’t love a nice Mexican cerveza? Tacos. I love them! George Lopez. He is one funny guy. I would like for him to marry us. It is for this reason we are not going for the traditional "Lisa and Tom’s Wedding." It is officially going to be titled, "Beer and Taco Fest ’09." We hope that all of you will be able to share this awesome occasion with us. Emails and invitations will follow with information about the exact dates, prices, and locations for May 2009. Tom and Lisa

  13. congrats on choosing the dress YOU love! you'll look and feel SEXY on your wedding day, and your man will LOVE it!

LMAO!

So, if people are in for BL5 I can start a sign up thread. Or do you all think that it makes sense to wait until AFTER the holidays? Usually the next one starts up a week or so after one ends, but not sure it makes sense in this case - but it's all up to you ladies! ann, i'm sure everyone who's done BL with you is with me in thanking you for all your hard work on behalf of this contest. no one would fault you for wanting a break from it! maybe someone else would be willing to take it over? i would offer to do it myself, if i didn't so badly need to be IN the contest, LOL! maybe after the holidays is a better idea ... i think most everyone will want to step it up for the new year, and shed their holiday pounds ... the participation will be up, and so will the $$$ and motivation! maybe less people would slack.

  17. wow! the presidential suite! you guys really went for it all, huh? good for you! i'm disappointed to hear the couples' massage was lame. you're the second bride here who i've heard say that. i was really looking forward to it, but now not so much. congratulations! looks like you guys had fun during the TTD!
  18. congrats to morgan! i can't believe there's only one week left! this is the first time i've been able to open this thread all week ... kept getting the ol' blank white page. hopefully all will be resolved by tomorrow when the forum maintenance is over. i've been having serious BDW withdrawal! i actually snuck into the thread by just clicking "reply" on my subscribed thread in user CP. when i clicked on the thread name, or any of the page numbers, i always got the blank page. i imagine others are having these problems too, so don't be too concerned about the lack of loser posts! best of luck to us all, and i'll see some of you in BL5! LOL!
  19. your party looks like a blast! love the light-up dance floor ... wish there was room in our budget for that kinda stuff! we're just using an ipod. i was under the impression that you could only be legally wed on a weekday, because you couldn't get the judge on weekends? that's why ours is on a thursday! i'm so glad someone on here finally did a legal ceremony! i got the judge's speech part of the ceremony from claudia, but the part of the vow exchange isn't included ... i'm guessing we have to provide our own? i wonder what they would have done if you hadn't provided vows? were yours written as a "repeat after me" kinda thing, or did you just read them from a paper? thanks also for all the golf info. tom and his family all love to golf ... when he found out greens fees are included he already said he's gonna golf the morning of the wedding! congratulations! oh one more question: how much did he charge for the unedited video footage?
  20. GORGEOUS! and it looks like everyone had a blast! i don't know if you were just sweaty, haha, but your skin looks positively GLOWING, dewy and radiant! you look beautiful! love that the photographer caught you looking at your ring.
  21. nice! i'm sure i can whip up a christmas present for *someone*!
  22. you look amazing ... i actually really love your hair, and as much as i didn't want to put mine ALL up, i'm really considering it now! very elegant! i am hoping to work something out with juan to get all the pics on disc like you did ($200 is great), since i can't get my fiance to agree to spring for the expense of an outside photographer. one question: since you brought your own chair sashes, did they charge you anything for setup?

  24. omg, we are SO doing this! how many of us would shit ourselves if we actually got a YES rsvp?! LOL!
  25. not sure if this will be helpful, but for me it seems to only happen to threads i've looked at before (i.e. all my subscribed threads). which sucks, because i wouldn't be subscribed still if i didn't want to read those! guess i'll have to be patient with the rest of you. glad to know it's not just me! ... suffering serious BDW withdrawal here ...
