i bought plain ones and am doing an iron-on transfer that is sort of our logo, but altered so it's a circle with the flower and just says "cancun 2009." right now i'm toying with the idea of doing something less girly-looking for the guys' koozies tho, like maybe replacing the flower with a palm tree or starfish. i was originally going to add the "to have and to hold" bit, but i think i'm going to just put that on a hang tag. that way it will be more of a souvenir and not say anything about our wedding on the actual koozie.

that's so cute that she cried when she had to take it off! why are you removing the rhinestones? do they scratch her? my suggestion would be to add some silk flowers in your wedding colors. -

Good thing urine is sterile.... haha SEE? that's totally what i'm talking about! ewwwwwww! i was also thinking that it's possible that the resort pool actually might not be chlorinated ... on cruise ships they just use salt water.

i hope they can keep up with all the business they are getting from this forum! i am so excited to have hired them ... i would have regretted it forever if i had gone with the resort photographer! i swear i look at the pics on their website again at least once a week ... can't wait til we start seeing their work popping up on this forum, i'm dying to see more! motorola mascot, i'll be looking for yours!

i just had a kinda gross thought ... good thing i'll be drunk ... it's a public pool at the resort, and the ball is certainly going to fall into the pool water a lot, and THEN land in a beer that you have to drink ... um, ew. and then besides, do you risk drinking some unfiltered mexican water that way? can you say montezuma's revenge?

oooh so freakin adorable. too bad my "flower girl" is 6 years old. -
with all due respect, the search function really sucks. it is seriously the only negative thing i've ever found about this forum. every day there is at least one post that starts off "i tried to search for this BUT ..." i found this thread by searching "photo share." is there a way to search only thread titles, rather than entire threads? am i missing something?

omg, that is too cute! i'm confused by the top tho ... doesn't look like it covers the chest area very well. -
i bought it too, as well as some cheap goggles for the kids we have coming. i like that you can use paypal to pay. good to hear they ship quickly! so many of us are buying it that i just wanted to point out i've seen it on ebay as well for just about the same price.

i actually had given up and purchased a brooch that i was going to somehow adhere to a floral pick, lol. now that i have one to borrow, i don't have to worry about finding a "something borrowed" and i can use the brooch elsewhere as an actual pin (maybe on my flower girl)!

i bought it off ebay for about $20 including shipping! haven't received it yet, so i'm hoping it looks as cute in person. -
Which bridesmaid dress?
cougs replied to estella1007's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
i think it will depend on how formal you want your wedding to be, what YOUR dress looks like, etc. the davids one is adorable but looks much less formal to me than the beautiful, flowy gown from jasmine. price would definitely be the deciding factor for me ... i wouldn't want my bridesmaids to have to cough up that much money (jasmine) for a dress they likely won't wear again, when they are paying that much to come to the wedding. i could see them possibly wearing the davids one again. that said, i offered to let my girls buy off-the-rack, short dresses that weren't bridesmaidy, but they decided amongst themselves that they'd rather have the full-length dresses. worked out well for me since dreams cancun is so windy! i didn't have to buy them matching panties, lol! -
kelly, you're right. if you can afford it now, it is definitely the time to buy. you will get so much more for your dollar now than you will if/when the economy picks up. sellers are having to drop their home prices pretty drastically in order to get their homes sold. i'm like you ... i would take a fast food job before i'd sit around unemployed and complaining. it drives me crazy when people say there are no jobs, when really what they mean are there are no jobs that they don't think are beneath them. my fiance's aunt is out of work, got an offer for a job in her field making about the same as she made in her last job, and she won't take it because she's getting older and the job doesn't offer a pension. i'm like, huh? so she'd rather be unemployed, with NO income?

haha i *think* i'm not freaking out, but then i'll notice a tightening in my chest whenever i think about wedding stuff, lol. like la di da i'm not stressed ... oops, heart attack!

When I expressed my opinion that he has a responsibility to me and his subsequent children, and I wasn't fond of the idea because after taxes consume 50% that would leave me about $125,000 toward a mortgage, funeral expenses, his children's college, help out with the loss of 2/3 of our household income, etc... meanwhile his brother and sister look at it as an opportunity to go on a shopping spree on someone else's dime, he told me that it really bothered him that I felt that way and asked how selfish could I be that I wouldn't want his siblings to receive something. Sure they would lose a brother and his parents - a son, but their futures wouldnt come to a screeching halt the way his widow's would. I realize this is a terrible thing to think about, but realistically, is my perspective on the whole thing entirely warped? i think if he is just thinking about YOU, the first gut reaction might be "wow, what a greedy b*tch! why can't she share?" LOL ... but the fact of the matter is that you plan on having children, and it is as much his responsibility as yours to provide for them. your home will be your joint expense, your debt belongs to both of you, etc. you are NOT entirely warped (lol) ... you are thinking of the future of your family-to-be. i think it's worth discussing making you the single beneficiary of the life insurance policy, but also drawing up a will that can allow for a MUCH SMALLER amount of money left to other family members. they do NOT need 25% ($125,000?) each! their income isn't being halved, and their children aren't suddenly fatherless! worth asking ... do YOU have your own life insurance, and if so, who are the beneficiaries?

i actually did post the path of your starfish: 1) dc22173 - april 25 2) mummergirl - may 28 3) phillybride09 - june 24 4) kathleenanddan - july 17 the first 3 are all dreams cancun, and the last one (so far) is beaches boscobel. anyone need it after kathleenanddan? actually, i'm thinking phillybride, kathleenanddan, and i should just plan local get-togethers to pass the starfish ... we're all either in philly or south jersey! it could be fun!
