  1. found a neat map of the cancun hotel zone where you can see what stuff is near the resort (Map of Cancun). the resort is #40 ... so you can see it's very close to coco bongo, senor frogs, and the city (clubs), and also very close to two shopping malls (forum mall and plaza caracol), and a flea market. there's even a hooter's and a t.g.i.friday's nearby (harty is that where you're doing dinner?). i just wish there was some kind of distance scale so you'd know exactly how close everything was! seems like the things i mentioned should be within walking distance. i've attached it here too ... i think (never did that before)! cancun_zone.pdf

  3. i can't believe anyone could listen to the shamwow guy long enough to buy them LMAO ... he's so annoying the way he yells everything at you! he's also the slapchop guy, and in that infomercial he actually says the words, "you're gonna love my nuts" ... have to admit that cracks me up every time! LOL we do have a friend who couldn't stop talking about shamwow and how she wanted them, so we bought some for her as a housewarming gift. she was very excited to receive them, but i'm not sure if she's been using them or not! we bought the other shamwow-like product (ZORBEES) for ourselves awhile back ... they work ok ... we tried to put one under our cats' water bowl because they kept tipping it, but they weren't having any part of that nonsense, LOL.
  4. lots of people do silk or real-touch floral bouquets and bring them down with them. two other things i've seen are pomanders or bouquets made entirely of shells ... either could be DIY and brought with you. other than that, you could skip bridesmaid flowers entirely and have them carry paper parasols ... they look great in pics!

Thanks for all of your help :-) As always! yeah i don't know if either of us could go for seeing each other beforehand, mostly because of how much crap we'd hear about it from EVERYONE about it being bad luck. i don't want anyone even *thinking* the words "bad luck" on my wedding day! however, the walk looks so LONG to the gazebo ... i don't think you will really get a "reaction shot" when he's going to see you coming for miles!
  6. great news, kelly! *fingers crossed for you* i confess that i'm pretty sure i know when my bridal shower is going to be!

  8. haha i'd be very surprised if i was wrong about when i think my shower is (but i'm going to start making sure i'm dressed decently and have makeup on every weekend from now thru the wedding though anyway, LOL)! someone bought our rachel ray cookware set! yay! and that was an online-only item (i was worried no one would buy stuff that wasn't in-store)!
  9. i bought one on ebay (clear stones) from seller "seperwar" for $9.65 and free shipping. i just received it today and it's perfect (auction ended feb. 22, but it was coming from china so ship time wasn't bad, considering). doesn't look like they have any more with clear stones right now, but they have a few with colored stones. there were other sellers too when i looked ... just search "starfish brooch" or "starfish pin." i never thought to put it on my bustle! i was going to make it into a bouquet jewel, but now i was offered a real one of those to borrow in the "starfish passing thread," so i was going to affix it to my flower girl's headband or dress instead. ... hmmm maybe i'll be greedy and keep it for myself!

  12. in searching for bridesmaid's jewelry i stumbled upon this bracelet/earrings/ring set on sale for only $5.99!!! unfortunately, not my colors AT ALL, but i thought someone else might benefit so it was worth posting here: Buy Genuine Gemstone Bracelet and Earrings Set with Pearl Ring-Pierced at Limoges
  13. hahaha thanks a lot now i'll go do MORE SHOPPING! LOL ever notice that you'll go out of your way to shop somewhere you don't normally shop (or for things you don't really need) when you have a coupon?
  14. unfortunately they ordered my dress two sizes bigger than the one i had on that day, and i've lost some weight since, so i'm more worried about it being way too big with a ton of alterations. my fiance said he was going to diet with me but that lasted about a week and a half, LOL. so not much motivation there, considering he's a big boy, a great cook, and loves me just the way i am. ok, i should probably stop thread-hijacking. back to dreams questions!
  15. LeAnne, that's great that he's so supportive (and cute that he won't let you get up, too). Tom does 90% of our cooking, so I just have to make sure the right kinds of foods are in the house, and keep on him to be sure he's using non-stick spray instead of gobs of butter ... that sort of thing. However, even though he SAID he would diet with me, that lasted about a week and a half (during which he lost 6.5 lbs by doing NOTHING, lol). Oh! And the other night I was especially snack-happy, and saw him up making a nice, fattening burrito for himself ... I went into the kitchen and he was like, "maybe you should have some fruit." For some reason, it just made me SO MAD (even though he was *trying* to help). I mean, the nerve! Maybe his fat *ss should have some fruit too, instead of a burrito! LOL ... i stormed out of the kitchen like a child, without eating anything else, so i guess he helped in the long run, LOL!

LOL The dieting and the gym is totally paying off (I got back into my sz 10's..lol almost)....But I just wanna eat!!!! :-) LMAO! and congrats on slimming down ... i haven't been getting my butt to the gym lately, so it's not going so well for me. somebody smack me around a bit, please!
  17. cute dresses (especially at that price) ashley! i would just make sure my girls wore some sort of slip ... in the pics the skirt part looks a little sheer, even with dark stockings (which i assume your girls won't be wearing, lol). you don't want every inch of your maids outlined if the sun is shining brightly behind them!

  19. i'm down a little (can't help but get on the scale every day ... bad bad bad!) but only because i've been eating right, and maybe stress as the wedding rapidly approaches. i have NOT been able to get my butt to the gym lately. it's really just pathetic and i need someone to smack me around! what the heck am i waiting for i only have 80 days!!! however, some of the lack of chat is due to losing so many contestants! the list is WAY down from when we started. don't give up, ladies! so what is everyone doing to stay motivated? did you slap a "before" pic on the fridge? do you have a goal outfit or a BD shoot coming up? do you have a workout buddy? what have you done to kick it up a notch for the second half?
  20. mmmmm creme brulee! all this pre-wedding dieting is making me so excited for the food there! LOL
  21. my invitations FINALLY have all gone out, lol. and this friday i will be putting mom to work helping me with some DIY projects ... she kept complaining that she didn't feel like she was contributing ... LOL be careful what you wish for! i had a bridesmaid drop out today, which was fine, since i had given her the option several times (also MONTHS ago) since i knew her situation, and the bridal party was lopsided anyway. i just found it funny that she waited until now. her daughter is still flower girl (and dress arrived today). at least with the one bridesmaid out, i can finally say all my girls have their dresses ... and since i'm so indecisive, i hadn't bought their jewelry or gifts yet anyway, so my procrastination actually worked out for me!
  22. i bought raffia fans, and i really like the look of them, but seeing as how it's so windy at the gazebo, i'm thinking they'll be totally unnecessary there. should i save them for the reception, and put them at each person's place setting? thoughts? i know i get hot and sweaty when i'm dancing! and speaking of wind, what are your opinions on the flower girl tossing petals? i don't want them just blowing in everyone's faces, lol!
  23. i'm still up in the air about programs since i can't get any straight answers from my WC about the whole order of the legal ceremony. she told me i can add a sand ceremony and a reading, but i don't know where it goes (i think i'm only allowed to add it at the end), and i don't know when the certificate signing, ring exchange, or vows happen. still, i might do one to list our wedding party, songs, reading title, and sand ceremony info. just not too sure how to organize it. i'm definitely doing welcome brochures that will go in the OOT bags with lots of resort info and a meet & greet page with guests names/relation to bride or groom/and a spot for people to write in room #s.
  24. you guys should start passing that topper around like we're all doing with the starfish bouquet jewel (it's our "something borrowed" ... and we're keeping a journal of where it's been).
