wedding dress for AHR or not?
cougs replied to inunez's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
i won't be wearing mine at the AHR, but that's mostly because our AHR isn't going to be fancy at all ... it will be VERY casual (that is, if we ever freakin' plan it). if we were going to do almost a regular fancy "wedding reception" i think i'd wear it again. also, are you doing a TTD? wearing it again might not really be an option after that! -
congrats deanna! ashley, this is my 3rd time in biggest loser since july. BL4 started two weeks after BL3 ended. we took a longer break when BL4 ended because everyone agreed they'd rather start up again in january after the holidays. we thought we'd get a bigger crowd of participants with all the new years' resolutions. so i'm sure there will be a few more contests this year, as long as there are willing participants and someone willing to run it.

What's something you saw at a wedding that made you swear...
cougs replied to yamille's topic in Random Thoughts
an ex-friend of mine used to do some photography and got hired to shoot a wedding. she asked me to come along as her assistant (basically handing off second cameras to her, changing film rolls, etc.). so i go. the wedding is low-budget and at a firemens' hall (nothing wrong with that if that's what you can afford). people got SO TOTALLY OBLITERATED DRUNK off of shots that a fist-fight broke out on the dance floor, the groom fell and almost broke his nose (it was bleeding all over), and guests wives were caught hooking up with other people's husbands in the parking lot, etc. etc. etc. OMG! at the time i swore that when i got married i would have an open bar but *definitely* NOT allow straight shots. somehow tho, i don't think i can get away with that at an all-inclusive, LOL, so i'll have to just cross my fingers that our guests are a higher class of people than that! -

This should be an interesting 2 months! i'm missing all that stuff (and more) still as well, but oddly i'm not freaking out yet ... i probably should be! i finally ordered jewelry for my bridesmaids yesterday. oh marie, you are *definitely* an oddball but i don't think the fact that you've not done anything has anything to do with it--LMAO! congrats on losing so much weight that you need a new dress ... that rocks!

How did they come out? haha i just saw this ... um NO i haven't decorated them yet. lazy, lazy, lazy! i am pretty sure that i may just skip it. they are small and made of a light-colored wood. the wood is very smooth. there is a seam horizontally across the middle of the "rattle" part of the maraca. they are not loud when you shake them like plastic maracas. i think the maracas in the pic on elizabeth medina's website (Elizabeth Medina Photography, Mexico Destination Wedding Photographer, Wedding Photojournalism throughout the Riviera Maya, Yucatan and Mexico) might be the ones from OTC (the person tied their seating cards to them with ribbon, and only painted the rattle end a solid color and left the handle natural--good idea that looks nice if you are pressed for time or not great with painting). you can see the seam i was talking about too, across the middle of the painted part.

I also just found out that FI has the same thoughts... oh i think we ALL have those! sometimes i lay awake at night unable to fall asleep because all sorts of wedding related nonsense is circulating my brain. once one of the bad thoughts slips in, i can totally forget about sleeping! a popular one is "good thing everyone's not on the same flight ... what if the plane goes down? oh god, what if any one of the planes go down? we couldn't possibly go on with the wedding if any part of our group were in a crash" ... etc etc etc ... so it's not even real problems, more like made up scenarios that i play out in my mind. and to top it off? i'm not afraid of flying in the least (you have a better chance of just about anything else killing you), so i have no idea where this is coming from!

inching closer to my march mini-goal! i'm sure there are ladies who attend my curves who have lost more than 30 lbs since they started there--they just must not still get weighed/measured anymore. anyway, if (i mean WHEN) i make my goal, i will be the ONLY one on the board who has lost more than 30 lbs ... it will feel good to be #1 in weight loss *somewhere*, LOL! (you BDW ladies are tough competition!) on that, since i have such a huge amount of weight to lose, i do find that sometimes it is helpful to set smaller goals. it's like when you have a seemingly insurmountable to-do list: it's nice to be able to check items off when you're finished! it is nice to see more chat on this thread. keep up the good work ladies! and kelly, you are NOT last ... all those ladies who gave up and dropped out are last!

WRONG. a bunch of people told me shell ripped through the envelope and one told me their shell was all smashed. real pretty. duh. did you by any chance have an option to rsvp online? then people might think that was the only way to rsvp and not notice!

ooh i wanted to add that i am excited for weigh-in this week because i actually lost a few pounds, LOL! and i finally got back to curves today (hadn't been there in over a week), and found some motivation there too. there's a little bulletin board on the wall where the owner cut out shamrocks with a person's name and weight loss on it, and posted them up under categories ... well there are shamrocks up under 5 lbs lost, 10 lbs, and a few (including mine) are under the big #20, but NO ONE has a shamrock posted under 30 lbs lost ... yet! when i was leaving, i told carol she'd be moving my shamrock there before the end of the month, and i meant it! so that's my mini-goal for march.

i just *finally* found a bracelet i like for my girls, and bought it from this site: Pearls - Pearl jewelry, handmade beaded jewelry, fashion jewelry - Wholesale handmade beaded jewelry, fashion jewelry, pearl jewelry (it's still not *the perfect bracelet* but i had to just pick something already! i upgraded to 7.5" bracelet with 925 sterling silver clasp). what do you ladies think? i didn't want to do necklaces with their halter dresses ... i just wish there were matching earrings. *sigh* they had a lot of very cheap jewelry, and tho mostly everything said minimum order of 10 pieces, i was able to order just 4 bracelets without additional cost (i kinda cheated, by initially adding 10 to my cart, but then updating the quantity once in there). they ship from china tho, so shipping on 4 bracelets was $12 and could take 10-30 days. you can pay thru paypal. hope this helps someone else!
