  5. how exciting, yael! tomorrow you will be a married woman!!!! and i saw the great news in the shout box thread of your surprise additional guests. that's fantastic!
  6. MY DRESS IS FINALLY IN!!!! first fitting thursday night at 7! i am so relieved, but really regretting the crazy stress-eating i've been doing lately!
  7. anyone have any advice as to what time i should make my hair appointment for? my ceremony is at 5pm. oh, and i am doing my own makeup, so it's hair-only.
  8. here's the promised pic. i still don't have the tags done but wanted to give you an idea how it turned out. i still feel like such a slacker for not painting a design (the flower design in my siggy) like i originally planned. maybe i'll feel better about them when i add the tags? haha right now they look christmassy lol.
  9. first time making a corsage so i'm looking for feedback/suggestions. should i add some bling or will it be too much? i still need to make 3 more (FMIL, grandmother, godmother), and might make bouts for the dads while i'm at it. unless you girls think it looks crappy? these are only regular silks you get at ac moore, not real touch, so there is a degree of fakeness ... but it was pretty easy to do.

LOL ... i was just throwing it out there. i did a program for a friend and she had both on the same page, but separate. more stuff to consider: if you have any traditions that your guests may not understand, it's really nice to describe them, the reasons behind them, and symbolism. for instance, in a jewish wedding explaining the breaking of the glass. if i do a program for my own wedding, i will include a bit about our rings, because they are inscribed with "mo anam cara" which means "my soulmate" in irish gaelic. little tidbits of info like that are always nice to include.
  11. thank you so much cattie, that was very sweet of you to offer. i had seen those bags at five below and liked them a lot (they are huge and i thought the guys would like the string backpack inside), but they are SO not at all related to my wedding colors that i didn't buy them. the target bags were last season so unless anyone has extra i will just buy different bags for the wedding party and call it a day. i just figured it was worth a shot to try here first and maybe all bags could be matching. billysbride had these and i contacted her (that's actually the picture from her post!), but unfortunately she not only has no extras, but she had already gotten rid of them when she decided to change her bags! drat!
  12. don't let the next person walk until their song starts playing, i.e. let a song finish entirely and don't just cut it off in the middle to start the next one. if the songs are too long for that, have whoever is operating your ipod simply turn the sound all the way down gradually to sort of fade it out, then start the next song and turn the volume back up gradually. there are also programs you can use to cut music, fade it or whatever, but if you don't know where in the music you'll need the song to stop, that's not really useful.
  13. an embosser? once again i'm having one of those "why didn't *i* think of that?!" moments! how much does an embosser cost? i have to say it looks awesome!
  14. i can't believe you did that much wonderful stuff with only 4 months to plan your whole wedding! inspiring! and as a fellow procrastinator, i will do my best to take your advice and try not to leave things for the last minute ... i would hate to be running on empty already when i arrive in mexico!

They (my family) basically made me feel like they're only doing this to shut me up and they would have been much happier if I had had it back home. My step-dad even said stuff like this to my in-laws: (who go on vacation every winter just to get away and unwind) "I don't know how anyone can just sit on their ass all day and do nothing". Like WTF?! It's bad enough DH's parents aren't my biggest fans and then my parents have to insult them (perhaps inadvertently, perhaps not) on their vacation? Ugh!!! haha well my FI is totally not a beach person, so other than drinking and swimming in the pool, he would probably get a little bored, lol. that's why i *have to* let him bring his golf clubs (free greens fees when staying at dreams). did your resort not offer stuff to do? there seems to be plenty to do all day at dreams, and it's in walking distance to a ton of stuff, so i should be ok. i seriously just can't imagine anyone complaining about a VACATION!

  17. i bought my bags last year when i thought almost no one was coming, and now people are suddenly booking ... i'm grateful and excited, but it's a PITA because i now do not have enough bags! did anyone else buy these bags? please tell me you have extra! they were out over the summer, and are clear vinyl beach bags with white trim (i would even take the black ones). they were selling in target's dollar spot for $2.50 each. i could use about 5 more ...
  18. hmmm ... i think i'm just now realizing that my dress will count as my carry on baggage. guess i'm going to have to carry a really big purse, lol.

OMG!!! that would have made me furious. and hello? how are you "bored" at a resort? oh i get it: it must be that laying around doing absolutely nothing isn't out of the ordinary for them, so they don't know how to appreciate it, lol.
  20. i totally feel for you! we have had about 10 people rsvp yes & book after telling us since we decided on a DW about a year ago that they would NOT be coming! we never thought they'd be able to make it, and therefore, totally under-purchased favors, OOT bags & contents, etc. we are SO excited they are all coming (i had been getting pretty down about no one coming for awhile), but what a PITA now with the last minute running around (on top of all the crap i procrastinated on)! driving to cabo with a can of tuna ... ... so cool that he made it there any way he could! but still, LMAO!
  21. it's looking like it will most likely be the 18th at chickie's & pete's in south philly (which works for me, yay!) ... did we ever decide if this will be in the afternoon or evening?

  23. neither of us has ever been to dreams, to cancun, or to any all-inclusive resort. i've never been to mexico at all, but tom had a cruise stop in cozumel once ... so i'd say we're going in pretty blind! neither of us has been married before either, and we're jumping headfirst into that, so why not the wedding too? LOL
