  1. same thing at dreams cancun ... except sometimes it's even longer than 2-3 weeks! i think they are just very busy, especially now as we are entering major wedding season. you also have to keep in mind that it's a different country and different culture. they seem to operate on "mexico time" LOL. it IS extremely frustrating, but all the dreams weddings are so beautifully done that it's worth it. not sure if cabo is any different, but most of the girls who have been married at dreams cancun have said you can make a lot of your decisions when you get there and not to worry. it IS strange that they aren't replying about money tho LOL it seemed that was the ONLY time i ever got a quick response!

  3. i almost bought the cameras last night too, until i noticed there is no flash ... my reception is at night and outdoors, and i don't think it will be very well lit. i eyed up the sombreros for the kids; might still get those. and i was happy to see the beach balls since i don't have enough for my OOT bags anymore but didn't want to place yet another order with oriental trading. anyone still looking for cheap playing cards, my target had packs of 2 decks for $1. i found the same deal awhile ago at dollar tree. i was SUCH a good girl at target, and only bought cat litter, printer paper, and a gallon of milk. LOL i think that's the least i've ever spent there ... i should go get checked by a doctor..
  4. i found it! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...3-8#post719136
  5. someone on this forum did the cutest thing for their OOT bags for a tequila toast. they had personalized shot glasses along with a mini salt shaker tied with their color ribbon ... looked great the way she packaged it all together. i think she was doing the toast at their welcome dinner. wish i remembered whose it was ... it was VERY cute.
  6. for a dollar a piece, i might get them. i'm usually against disposable cameras on the tables because in my experience they get filled with pics of butts and boobs, lol. or maybe that's just our friends? LOL, drunken idiots! yet another excuse to go to target ... like i needed one!

  8. joanna, you changed your screen name?! i just got so nervous for you because i thought there was now a THIRD wedding on your date, lol! congrats on booking ivan ... his work looks great and the price can't be beat. will be looking forward to seeing your pics!

They are willing to come and take pics all day and do a ttd session for one trip covered fully and half of the other guys.. That means it will come to 1500$ all together. FI keeps swaying one way to the other and I feel like I'm in a whrilwind of doubt as to whether or not we are going to have GOOD photos at the end of the day! I don't think he understands that the photos r going to be the only thing we have 50 yes from now! $1500 for two photogs ALL DAY plus a TTD session is excellent (basically about the same as i paid for 5 hours and no TTD)! how would you get your pics? high res on disc with all rights to them? i say if you can at all swing it, you should. maybe you can ask parents for help? early wedding gift? the photography really is a good investment. FIs just don't get it. though i have to correct you: 50 yrs from now, with patience, love, and luck, you'll still have each other and amazing memories, whether you had pictures or not!

  11. check out this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t40598 even though her dress is more on the blue side than yours, i think the same holds true ... lime green would look fabulous with it!

Fi my mom and dad think we should just get people to take pics of the wedding but I feel like it would be a let down for me! What do u ladies think? honestly, i knew i didn't want to regret not having great photos, so i hired an outside photographer instead of using the guy that comes with our package. the package included 36 pics from the ceremony only, and i would have had to pay more anyway to get pics on disc, as well as to have him there longer to get pics of first dance, father-daughter dance, etc. the photographs, to me, were nearly the most important aspect of the whole wedding (aside from ended up married) ... my FI didn't see it my way ("how many pictures do you need?") so i went over his head and paid for a photographer myself. my budget wasn't very big, but i know i'll be much happier with my choice (moments that matter) than had i done nothing. my parents are 70 and 71, his grandmother is 70 ... not to be a downer, but how do we know how much time we've got left with them? especially all the family together ... that never happens! and for people who couldn't be there ... i wanted them to be able to *almost* experience it thru the pics. unless you have friends/family who are really pretty good with a camera (and who wouldn't mind holding back on the fun long enough to get some really great pics ... don't forget, it's their vacation too, so it is a lot to ask) ... my advice would be to at the very least use the resort photographer, and if you can swing it, upgrade your package a little. oh, and in my experience, the disposable cameras on the tables end up full of butts and boobs, lol, not exactly the beautiful photo memories you might be envisioning!
  13. ugh, i *wish* we were going first class ... economy on usair, we pay for *every* bag ... it's what has stopped me from buying stuff for OOT to be honest!

  18. ok, seeing the dress, i second the green orchids! will look STUNNING. sometimes when i see tons of great jewelry/flowers/other accessories out there in other colors i totally second-guess my choice. i almost wish i had gone with blues/greens. i've seen so much stuff available in those colors! (i went with deep red with orange ... everything out there is orange and fuschia!)

LOL i agree with others ... beyond providing your single guests with the names/contacts of suggested roomies, your responsibility here is zero. i went through this myself and my MOH got bumped around from room to room until she finally landed in a room with my sister (my sister doesn't particularly like her, and didn't want to room with her, but it saved them both money so she's sucking it up).
  20. gorgeous, gorgeous photos ... and i love the random dog running by, lol!
  21. first of all, calm down and BREATHE. this is not something to get sick to your stomach over! can you post a pic of the dress? not sure if ocean blue is light or dark or on the aqua side? at any rate, all of us with beach weddings have "ocean" color in our pics, and i haven't seen anyone's flowers look bad against it! i think you are always safe with tropical colors, but if you are really worried, choose ivory/neutral color flowers for her and save the bright tropical ones for YOUR bouquet. that way, YOU get the big pop of color and can choose your favorites.
