freaking out trying to get stuff done now ... just created and ordered a photo book from shutterfly that i'm using as my guest book (they can sign in the margins around the pics, kinda like a yearbook). i just used all general pics of the resort and of cancun. i really wanted to do this mostly to see whether i like the quality for when i do my wedding album and gift albums post-wedding. * made the appts for my wedding hair (and my mom's) and for our couple's massage at the resort spa the day after the wedding (we'll need it!). * got my birth control so we don't have to have a condom-filled wedding night, LOL. * figured out seating chart and made escort cards. these will get tied to the mini-maracas i painted. gotta get on making bouts and corsages, flower girl pomander and ring bearer shell! hopefully will accomplish that stuff this weekend. i don't even want to think about programs, welcome brochures, OOT bags, ipod playlist (no dj so this is important!), bridal party gifts, jewelry, etc. etc. etc!!!! omg 41 days!!! you girls who are in the next couple weeks must be FREAKING OUT!

why don't you post those menus and pricing as an attachment so you don't have to PM it to *everyone* LOL! we are greedy lil buggers, aren't we? every time we see or hear of something new, we all HAVE TO HAVE IT! LMAO i made my wedding hair appt (and one for my mom at the same time), and i've emailed to set the appt for our couple's massage for the day *after* the wedding ... i figured we'd NEED it then after all that partying ... i was sure to ask for late afternoon (3pm), LOL! also trying to find out from claudia if she'll let us do the buffet with 33 people (you're supposed to have 40). it's too hard to pick one thing for everyone when there are so many allergies, vegetarians, and just plain picky eaters. hopefully she'll let us so there's at least a choice to be had! i'll let you ladies know what she says.

crap, it's my MOH's birthday today! i totally spaced ... last night FI and i made a very fruitful shopping trip and finally got our groomsmen's attire squared away. totally different from what we had planned ... i hope it looks ok ... i think it's probably a bit too casual but beggars can't be choosers. we got cream-colored linen pants and a short sleeved red button-down shirt that i HOPE matches (or at *least* doesn't clash with) the red bridesmaids' dresses. it seems to be the same color but it's not like i had a dress with me, LOL. we just really had to get *something* squared away and it's SO difficult to find anything we liked in ALL the guys' sizes (BM is a 3X). now i just need to get a new flower girl dress and figure out the ring bearer's outfit, and we finally won't have anyone in the bridal party who is naked anymore! LOL

FI is irish and we're going to ireland for our honeymoon): YouTube - Canon in D i know there are steel drum versions of it out there too which would have a more beachy feel ... best of both worlds! traditional AND beachy! -

Sorry it didn't work out girls, but this is just a postponement!! I emailed her, but she has not responded. it is *really* hard to get a date nailed down with them (mostly because they take so long to respond to emails) ... i wouldn't set a date until you know for sure it's the one you want. that said, dates in may (especially weekends) fill up very quickly as it is a popular month for weddings. by the time you decide you want to change your date, other dates may no longer be available. you really can't expect them to negotiate with you without a contract in play though. they are far too busy to waste their time with people who aren't under contract.

*sigh* i would have no problem meeting up with just the 3 of us, but in light of the harry kalas thing ... i guess i'd say we should postpone. i will need to get together with jennifer anyway after my wedding to pass along our starfish bouquet jewel, so maybe we can just do it then? that would push it back to june ... -
i love it ... especially the parts about laughing at your own jokes, lol ... that's totally us.

How did that work out and how big was your group? Any advice will help. I'm pretty much waiting til I get there to make all my decisions, but it sounds like I should maybe figure out the music thing. i didn't think it was worth the expense of a dj for so few people (33 in my case, 4 of them are kids), so we are using a bose ipod docking station. we splurged and bought it, since the sound system cost more than owning something we can use forever! it may prove to be a pain in the ass (switching songs ourselves), but i couldn't rationalize the expense. the biggest issue is with the bose system you can't use a mic. so we have no mic for announcements/speeches. i figure people can just speak up, but there won't be a "grand entrance" and no emcee.

i swear, every time i think i've finished something, it gets undone. flower girl dress no longer fits because she's becoming a real chunky monkey (it fit a few weeks ago!) and i bought one incorrect size shirt for groomsmen and tried to order the right size tonight and it's no longer available. wtf? i have my period so of course i was ridiculous and had a good cry over this stupid stuff, lol, but really? i don't have much accomplished and every time i think i have ... i haven't.

ayita, that's ridiculous! i'm so sorry! so i'm assuming you ended up not relocating? i hope everything works out. many of the things you pointed out should have been under contract! what is your timeline of wedding events? i saw that you were upset about it all ending at 11pm and was confused ... we have a cocktail hour from 6-7 and then reception from 7-10 (that includes dinner time!), so really probably only an hour or two of dancing/partying before we have to move elsewhere. i think it's pretty common at most resorts. i would love to extend mine to 11 but they want ridiculous $$$ for that. screw them, it's an AI! we'll just move to the bar that is all of 15 feet away. we'll all definitely be thinking of you and crossing our fingers that everything not only meets but exceeds your expectations on your wedding day. try to remember, the only really important part is that you marry your love. everyone will be on vacation, and none of them know will know any better if things aren't the way you envisioned.

We are taking our photos before the wedding but I am concerned about it being so dark during the ceremony that the pictures of the wedding will not show the amazing blue water in the background. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first panic moment so far! my advice would be to tell her "NO" if it already says "4 in the gazebo" on your contract. sounds like they have another wedding that day and are trying to get one of you to change. why can't it be the other wedding that has to change?! if you don't already have it in your contract, then i would ask to change it to an earlier time rather than a later one and see if that works.
