AND, the same brand of pants (same color too) also came in boys' sizes, so our ringbearer's pants match the groomsmen! then we ended up with red shirts we found in jc penney's big & tall section (they are having a huge sale, buy 1 get 1 for .88 cents)! this all was just this past weekend, so the sales are likely still on! good luck! -
amazing planning thread ... you're making me nuts about how much i have left to do though! so glad everything is working out with your venue! you must be beyond excited!

total with buy it now plus shipping is about $66 for 32 bags, so just a little over $2 each, and they are very nice estee lauder tote bags (no logos on outside) that come with a small zipper bag inside as well! wish i could buy these myself but it's just too many for me. Did u hear about the fiasco that took place at a resort in Mexico due to the conquest bankruptsy? The security gaurds and cops barracaded the resort so that the people who had travelled with conquest coulnt leave until they paid the hotel additional money for their stay because the hotel/ resort doesn't want to wait to see if conquest is going to give them their money!! I cannot believe that they did that to those poor people! omg that's HORRIBLE. unbelievable! hey maybe you WILL run into BDW ladies on your flight, since you're stopping in cancun! there are a ton of cancun and riviera maya brides!
-
never really thought about it, but i guess not too many americans go to cuba (on the other hand, it's totally possible i could run into BDW brides going to cancun airport! especially since i leave on a US holiday weekend). i'm sure cuba is just as lovely as the rest of the caribbean. cuba really got slammed this past hurricane season though ... did your resort suffer damage, and is it all back to normal now?

sunsetbride, i knew about BOTH my "surprise" showers ... the first one i played it off like i was surprised (SO hard for me, because i am THE WORST LIAR EVER ... thankfully that made me really nervous on top of not liking being center of attention, so my hands were actually shaking ... made it much more convincing). like you said, they were all so proud of themselves for pulling it off (including FI) that i couldn't bear to let on that i knew. i did tell FI in the car on the way home, but i wish i hadn't. at the second one, i was able to say, "after what my girlfriends did to me two weeks ago, i was suspicious of EVERYTHING!" so i acted like i suspected something, but wasn't sure. much less nervewracking than full-out "acting."
-
i just had a weird thought after reading "date triplet" posts ... i don't have a date twin that i know of, but wouldn't it be SO funny to be on the same plane as other BDW brides? LOL ... all trying to be the first to get your dress into the captain's closet ... LMAO! totally possible! or you're looking at some chick like, "i KNOW i know her from *somewhere* ... "

these are the sand ceremony vows i got from claudia at dreams: _________________ & _______________, you have just sealed your relationship by the giving and receiving of rings, and this covenant is a relationship pledge between two people who agree that they will commit themselves to one another throughout their lives. The most beautiful example of this partnership is the marriage relationship. You have committed here today to share the rest of your lives with each other. Today, this relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these two individual containers of sand one, representing you, ______________ and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, and the other representing you, _________________ and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be. As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be.

VENT: Step mom says, "They might not make it"

really unless it's about money or health reasons, there is just no excuse for a father not to attend his own daughter's wedding. have a heart-to-heart with him. if it's money, maybe you can help out, or he can stay somewhere cheaper nearby and come on wedding day. if it's his partner, she can stay the hell home. family should come first. have you set a date yet? he could change his tune 500 times before your wedding day ... we had people close to us who did! -

LOL. that's awesome that they surprised you! i totally had BOTH my showers figured out. (i didn't think i should have one either, and i ended up with TWO!). we will just have to schedule and reschedule until we manage to get it together, lol. -

omg marie what was he thinking?!?! we hardly know you, but i think you could ask *anyone* on this forum and they'd know you'd rather have some random mexican be your witness than his mother or her guy! LMFAO! as for alterations, yeah that's cutting it a little close! good luck!

Not exactly beachy, but since I'm not willing to do the legwork or front the cash, I'm over it.

i love bare minerals (and will do my own makeup for the wedding using them), but i'm also not one to wear a lot of face makeup/foundation. the coverage is pretty good, but sometimes my dark undereye circles require a little more, LOL. i do need to buy some mineral eye shadows now tho! all i own is the starter.

i *LOVE* these but in the end i decided i just wasn't cool enough to rock the look, LOL. they just suit some dresses and some brides more than others.

My Veil Came In Today :)

ughhh!!!aunt Flo is set to come during the wedding week
cougs replied to bridetobe959's topic in Just venting or funnies
oh that sucks so bad! hopefully you're not too late to start on BC! with any luck, the wedding stress will throw your cycle off and you'll get it early or late. i know people who planned it perfectly to not fall during their wedding but then stress screwed them up ... one friend actually got hers AT her wedding (she wasn't due for at least another week)! -

LOL so frustrating! oh and she did confirm that you are allowed to add a sand ceremony and a reading, but the judge (apparently there's a new one they are dealing with) won't read those parts. you will have to get a friend or family member to read it. you can find the judge's speech here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-31#post493856
