  1. that actually made me feel a lot better about not getting the credits ... thanks! lol how much of a b*tch am i that i got mad people in our *family* were getting freebies?! LMAO! stress brings out the ugly in me i guess! oh, and i told you in a PM already, but your pics are absolutely beautiful! congrats again!
  2. i just saw this guy recently in another post and like his work: DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY BLOG NEWS IDEAS INFORMATION PACKAGES PROMOTIONS REACTIONS LOCATIONS FROM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER PETER VAN DE MAELE
  3. hahaha looks like a blast and i love the whole outfit that accompanied the hat, lol! what a sweet FI for showing up with flowers, too.
  4. congrats, MRS! glad to hear you are staying for your honeymoon now and all is well. also very good to hear your venue redeemed themselves and your wedding was fantastic!!!

  7. how did you find out? are they the kind of family who do practical jokes? like just to see if you freak and then they all laugh about it? (ok not so funny, but i do know people like this) it's pretty widely known etiquette that no one but the bride wears white (unless you're doing an all-white wedding, which looks awesome). i wouldn't have cared if my mom wore white but i certainly wouldn't have wanted other guests whispering about what a faux-pas she had made behind her back either, KWIM? if you're really bothered by it have your FI talk to her and tell her it bothers HIM.
  8. hehe i posted those bags when i saw them on ebay because i thought it was too good a deal to not share ... i'm glad a BDW bride actually bought them! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...197#post770223 i think that seller had other sets of bags as well, for those girls still searching!

I am ready to party in Cancun!! i agree it was seeming like it would be impossible to move the location and i'm honestly just SO done with it. so we are still proceeding as planned, unless now our stupid flights end up canceled because they are empty (wouldn't that be a b*tch?)! anyway, you have to keep your wedding as planned ... how else are we going to meet up for a drink on the beach? update on MOH: she got her doc to prescribe tamiflu, and he also told her that in light of the fact that there's swine flu now in philadelphia & bucks counties PA (where she lives) she might as well travel to mexico. that's exactly what i was trying to tell her ... thankfully her doc finally backed me up, and she'll listen to him!

And then out of the blue he said "I love that dress" and guess what? It looks exactly like the one I am wearing!!!! I am so excited that I know he will love it now!!!Thanks Say Yes to The Dress!!! oh man, you're so lucky ... i would have been paranoid about him hating one that looked like my dress (although the same dress can look entirely different on different people)! FI has already made fun of someone's hair that was styled the way i had been planning on for the wedding--SCRAP THAT!

  14. plan B seems like it's just not in the cards for us. it's looking like we are going to have to proceed as planned no matter who cancels on us. we are mostly on USairways and they will now waive the change fee up thru may 31. however, the resort is only offering postponement or switch to one of their dominican resorts for travel up to may 16. since that is still a week prior to when we leave for our trip, we are kinda stuck in limbo. in the meantime i have contacted the WCs at all 3 dreams resorts in dominican republic, and 1 doesn't have a wedding date available that week, 1 can accommodate us but not for a legal ceremony (which is the whole point), and the other hasn't said either way. our TA says it will be near impossible to get us all flights and rooms for that week anyway. and, it looks like the flights to punta cana cost hundreds more than our flights to cancun? oh, and our photographer won't refund our deposit unless there are border closures/canceled flights forcing us to cancel. while that's perfectly reasonable (they are running a business after all), it still sucks. not to mention we'd be back to square one looking for a photographer, and they'd have to be amazingly cheap since we'd have $500 less to work with. so far, we plan on going forward with plan A, mostly because we don't have a choice that doesn't lose people a lot of cash. best of luck to all of you who need to find and implement a plan B!
  15. i think the smaller the group, the more compelled i would feel to do them, as the expense would be far less and i could therefore afford to buy higher quality items that might really express my gratitude for their being there.
  16. i just found out that some of our last-minute bookers were given $300 resort credits! wtf? so i don't get *anything* for booking (and paying!) in advance, bringing all this business to their resort, and not to mention, not cancelling on their flu-ridden mexican asses?!?!?! but lazy, procrastinating, last-minute losers get $300? (not to mention MUCH cheaper flights than i got!) ok, so really i'm happy for whomever got the credit, but it hardly seems fair. it's not like they just booked AFTER the swine flu story broke. they booked in april. and our TA told them not to tell us!!! isn't *that* shady as hell?!
  17. i confess that i felt bad about b*tching about our lack of "drive" lately, so tonight i made sure the deed got done! maybe it's because it had been awhile, but i can definitely say once we got going the spark was still there! totally hot!!!! LOL sorry if this was TMI ... sometimes i'm a little too comfortable sharing with you ladies!!!
  18. confirmed case of swine flu in pennsylvania ... might as well go to mexico!
  19. marie LMFAO! you might get an even better wedding WITH NO FMIL!!!! honestly if st. lucia wasn't crazy expensive that's where we would have been going in the first place ... it's breathtakingly beautiful! hope you feel better soon or they won't let you on a plane! LOL

  22. and yet another panicked email ... this time from my MOH. she wants me to call her ... i haven't got the strength.

LOL
  25. not sure what i just did, but i totally lost my whole post. let's try again, shall we? jax!! so excited for you!!!!! marie, have you been able to get anything sorted? i cannot believe it's may already. i have SO much left to do ... pretty much dropped the ball on all of it in the midst of all the swine flu hoopla ... seemed like none of it mattered anymore in the grand scheme of things. we've pretty much resolved to go forth as planned, so i guess i better get my head back in the game, huh? time to get my ass in gear!
