LOL ... seems like dresses meant for DWs are almost all plunging neckline, backless, slinky, sexy numbers. i ended up going with a totally traditional wedding dress.
  2. dc22173 (diana)'s starfish is a beautiful silver-toned metal with very sparkly clear stones! looks just like the pic megashay posted in this thread. his current itinerary is as follows: 1) dc22173 - april 25 - dreams cancun, mexico 2) mummergirl - may 28 - dreams cancun, mexico 3) phillybride09 - june 24 - dreams cancun, mexico 4) kathleenanddan - july 17 - beaches boscobel, jamaica 5) jacilynda - august 8 - akumal, mexico 6) marryinghimagain - october 15 - dreams puerto aventuras, mexico 7) meli122 - november 7 - royal, playa del carmen, mexico cdnvb9 - december 29 - dreams huatulco, mexico

(and i finally JUST asked tom's Godmother to do it, like 5 minutes ago, lol! thank God she said she'd be honored!) now i just have to buy the stuff! Sand Ceremony Vows.doc

There is always one complainer in the group! yeah the problem is most of tom's family doesn't eat seafood (btw, we both LOVE seafood, lol) and we have at least two people with seafood allergies. the ONLY entree that doesn't have seafood in it (that isn't additional $$, i.e. platinum menu) is the chicken from the silver menu. and i'm sure people won't like that because his family are all picky and probably won't eat it because it has spinach in it. pains in my ass. also, his godmother is allergic to citrus, and pretty much everything has lime too, lol. i can't win. did i mention my MOH is vegetarian? claudia never answered as to what the vegetarian options are.
  9. yay! diana's starfish arrived for me today! i'm so excited ... he's so pretty and sparkly, and i love the idea of the little journal!
  10. for ladies doing the legal ceremony, i FINALLY got some answers to my questions i sent on april 17th (after re-sending them yesterday)! 1) Could you please tell me the order of the legal ceremony? I need it in order to design our program. Reading of marriage license Speech Rings- vows Signing of license Declaration of wedding couple 2) We are doing a sand ceremony and having a family member read it for us as you suggested. When will the sand ceremony take place in the ceremony (before or after vows)? After signing the license 3) Please send me a copy of the vows we will say. Each justice of peace has different ones, we don’t know who will come claudia also confirmed that we will get the dreams eternity honeymoon package complimentary because we qualify, which is nice. however, she won't let us do the buffet with only 33 people. there is nothing i can pick that will be good for everyone. i don't know what to do. every single entree has seafood except the chicken from the silver menu.
  11. ladies, i just wanted to share that lincoln and lori sent me a really sweet email trying to put my mind at ease about our pictures. they had seen the comments i made here about being a not-so-ideal-looking couple and wanted to assure me that beautiful photos come from the way you express your joy, happiness, and love, and have very little to do with how you look. i just thought that was very sweet of them.
  12. jax and rhonda, so happy to have you back and especially happy that your weddings turned out amazing. we all knew they would! i'm sad to see maybride2009 got banned ... with her wedding in shambles from the whole swine flu issue, i'm sure she really needed this forum for the support. hopefully it was just a minor faux pas and we'll see her back again soon. my "something borrowed" arrived today! the traveling starfish bouquet jewel! yay!!!!!

  15. if i only had a few people going, we definitely would have done the free wedding package, and probably would have either treated them to a dinner out at paloma bonita (restaurant right outside dreams cancun) or taken them on one of the cancun dinner cruises. thanks for saying my wedding seems fun ... my fiance called our wedding "beer & taco fest '09" in the initial email sent to everyone when we started planning a DW. it kinda stuck!

  17. GREAT review diana, and you already know i adore your pics! glad to hear the new WC was so great to you ... i have claudia and she doesn't budge on anything, regarding trades and such, and i've heard girls say she was nowhere to be found most of the time. *sigh* think it's too late to switch? lol congrats again, fellow dreams bride!
  18. that is the WORST! i would just about die ... i do EVERYTHING with that card! it's awful that your bank is being jerked off about it. like you need any more stress!!! well, going through these trials in life *together* will make your relationship all the more strong.
  19. seems like anywhere you go, the free package only works if you have less than 10 people (that's including the two of you!) and if you don't expect to have any sort of private dinner for yourself and your guests. also, the free ceremonies are only the symbolic ones. while they might include the services of a judge for a civil ceremony, there are translation fees and blood test costs to add on. basically there's nothing free in the world. there will always be added costs, even to the more expensive packages. make sure you budget a little extra for the unexpected add-ons.

The good thing is he is transferring all the money into my account!! LOL! omg ... that would be awful since neither of us have any *actual* credit cards. we do EVERYTHING with our bank debit card VISAs. i told my FI to make sure they know we are traveling to mexico so they don't flag the account for "suspicious" activity, and try to get any daily limit lifted since we want to pay for the wedding with it. never even thought that we may not be able to use it at all! yikes!

  22. they have been changing up their website ... there are now pics from dreams cancun (where i'm getting married). i don't think it's a BDW bride, but it could be? nice to know that lincoln & lori have been to my resort so they are familiar with it. i'm so nervous about my pics ... all their pics are of skinny b*tches! (hehe just jealous, girls). we are a big fat couple. can't wait to see what they do with that, LOL!
  23. of course, three free trips are meaningless if you drop dead, lol. and how many people, after getting really sick somewhere, would even *want* to go back there?!?!
  24. it made me laugh too ... it's a really good idea for them because honestly no one can prove they contracted it there, but having the offer might make people more apt to book.
  25. this is from the dreams site! it only applies to new bookings, but might help convince a guest who panicked and canceled to rebook? and will definitely be great to tell any guests of weddings later this year who are still on the fence: Flu Free Guarantee If a guest contracts Influenza A - H1N1 while staying with us, their next three vacations will be free of charge. In order to qualify, the guest must have reserved their stay between May 8, 2009 and June 30, 2009 for travel taking place between May 8, 2009 and December 20, 2009. New reservations only. There are many strands of H1N1, therefore it must be qualified as Influenza A - H1N1. The guest must provide positive blood results in addition to the certification of the doctor who performed the test in order to redeem the three free return stays. The three return stays are valid for the original traveler plus one companion. One complimentary stay per year over the same travel period as the original stay. Blackout dates and restrictions apply. Based on availability. Redeemed stays will be awarded for the same number of nights and in the same room category as the original stay. In order to redeem, guests should contact [email protected].
