Carlos Melnik Complaint
cougs replied to ashey063009's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
my photographer (moments that matter) was offering a refund, but only in the case that flights were canceled (like yours) or borders were closed. they were not going to offer refunds in the event that you simply "chose" to cancel, which i thought was totally fair and generous. no photographer or vendor is under any obligation to refund your deposit because of the swine flu mess ... it's just a nice thing to do, KWIM? however, while they would not refund the deposit in the second scenario, they did offer to apply the deposit toward use of their services in the future, i.e. if you perhaps took an anniversary trip there later, or wanted to do a late TTD session. you may want to find out if your photographer will agree to apply your deposit toward future services. sorry your wedding had to be rescheduled/moved. i'm sure it will be a wonderful experience no matter what! enjoy your day, and best of luck to you! -
thanks for telling me what i wanted to hear ladies! i love you girls! i have so much to do, and looking at yamille's planning thread last night i realized i made a big ol' typo on my table numbers and escort cards, so i'll need to fix those tonight. aaaahhhh we leave in 4 days!!!! coco locos, here i come!!!

have an amazing wedding, jaime!!!!!!!

everything looks amazing! i love the poem in your BD book, and really love that you made a hat for your dad (especially since he wears bucket hats -- he will love it!). and OMG, what luck that the table number you chose to show was 4 ... as soon as i saw the pic, i realized it: i spelled cuatro w/a "Q" on mine, which means it's wrong on all of table 4's escort cards as well ... aaaahhh! and i should know better, as i took a few years of spanish in high school. wtf? have to blame that one on wedding-brain too! thanks so much for posting ... now i don't have to have a 6 year old call me on it at the wedding, lol! your wedding will be amazing i'm sure. everything looks wonderful!

10 Day Weather Forecast for Cancun, Mexico - weather.com why does the 10-day weather look like this?!?!?! someone please tell me that it rains everyday for like 10 minutes in cancun! i looked over a week ago and there were showers every day too. aaaahhhh i will freak out if my DW is ruined by rain!!!!! my resort is NOT pretty at all if the wedding needs to be moved indoors (sorry, it's just not. the location is what is beautiful because you're surrounded on 3 sides by turquoise water, the resort is old and blah). not to mention all the money everyone is spending to enjoy a week indoors instead of on the beach playing in the sunny caribbean!?!? ugh. i am not bridezilla at all, but if there's anything i can't stand, it's the things i have absolutely NO control over. i can't help but worry myself. i know, i know ... big picture ... marrying the man i love ...

-
aww that's so sweet, yamille! i too was amazed at the love and generosity of people (i had THREE showers, when i didn't think i should even have one, considering the cost of attending the wedding, and that most of these people weren't going to be there for it)! i think when people recognize a true and honest love, they want to celebrate it and reward it. congrats!

Wedding in in 7 weeks! FI forgot to renew his Passport!
cougs replied to BBtoB's topic in Just venting or funnies
you should be fine (me and FI both got ours in 1-2 weeks, as did many of our guests) but i would expedite anyway ... better safe than sorry! -
i got off bdw just long enough to make corsages for the moms, grandmom, and godmom, and to make appointments for our spa treatments and massages at the resort. oh and i took a bunch of pics for the planning thread that probably won't get posted until after the wedding, lol! as the night went on it has become apparent that i scorched myself at tanning today ... i keep growing redder and redder! so dumb. it's 2:45 a.m. and for whatever reason (racing wedding-brain) i am still up. i should really get to bed.
-
btw, how's your tanning rash? i was thinking of you because i did two tanning sessions this weekend and like an idiot i totally scorched myself, lol!
-
oh jaime i'm totally with you on this!!! have you listened to your walking down the aisle song lately? i didn't cry when i did, but rather i got all itchy and nervous-feeling, lol! like totally anxiety-ridden! then i listened to my father/daughter dance song and bawled my eyes out ... i've been trying to desensitize myself LOL but it is NOT working! i'm going to be a mess. in the meantime, like amanda was, i've been snapping at everyone. and eating everything in sight. and not sleeping. i am a WRECK! LMAO ... i have several massages scheduled at the resort and i can't wait to go get them, as well as some strong drinks (like that margarita you're enjoying, lol). you're almost there, sweetie! time to become a MRS!!!!
-
i'm so jealous of all you brides who are sharing centerpieces! what a great idea! since claudia confirmed that we qualify for the honeymoon package free, i went ahead and booked our tension release massages and salt glow body scrub (well that one is just for me as FI thought it was a little too "gay" for him, lol), as well as our private dinner out on the pier for the 25th, which is our 4yr dating anniversary. it will be nice to do something special--shame we couldn't have been married on that date. anyway, i just wanted to ask if anyone has gotten the salt glow body scrub and how it was? i have never done any spa-type things before so it'll be an experience. i didn't want to get the facial since i don't know how my skin will react ... the scrub just sounds exfoliating, which is nice since i'll probably already be peeling, lol. (went tanning today and scorched certain areas of my body!) also, just FYI the included menu for the private dinner is the silver menu, which is all seafood (entree is coconut shrimp). sounded good to me and my FI, but i know a lot of you don't (or can't) eat seafood. you would have to pay something toward the dinner to get one of the other menus.

congrats, cattie! and congrats to ayita and all the other may brides returning from their dream weddings! we leave this coming saturday (actually friday night we are staying at the airport hotel, so everything needs to be done by thursday!). this weekend, i finished up ceremony programs, did a ton of laundry, purchased all our toiletries for the trip, contacted my bank so my acct doesn't get flagged when i try to use my card in mexico, paid off my photographer's balance, and did 2 sessions of tanning (some areas of my body have never seen sun and they were ON FIRE, ladies! LOL). sand ceremony supplies have arrived and i finalized the wording for our reading. bathing suits arrived too. oh, and i arranged a private dinner at the resort for me and FI for the monday after we arrive (it will be our 4yr "dating anniversary"). so finally a weekend where some stuff got accomplished! ok, getting off BDW now so i can do a few more things ...

i LOVE it! i was thinking of a pig cake topper, but the pig cake is PRICELESS! love the hats, lol! looks like you have an amazing, supportive group of family and friends, and i'm so happy for you that you went through with the legal ceremony on your wedding date. you have a lot of guests ... will they all still come now in december, knowing you're already legally married? i hope they do, so you can still have that experience the way you dreamed of it. congrats on being a MRS! a lifetime of love to you both!

Our Legal day
cougs replied to yamille's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
congrats, yamille! i love the pics, and it's so great that you were able to have people who can't make it to mexico witness your legal day (and be in on the secret). they must have felt honored to be included in such an important way. hope the bachelorette party was a blast, and that you didn't get so drunk that you spilled the beans about legal day, lol. (haha a little backwards with getting married before the bachelorette party, lol. i love it!) WE WANT PICS!!! we never get sick of 'em! -
Ask all guests to wear my colors
cougs replied to soma1133's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
i've seen all-white weddings, and ones where everyone was asked to wear a shade of blue, and both looked wonderful in pics. i think you may run into a problem only because your colors are so bright (works much easier with neutrals) and many people don't seem to care for orange or yellow at all (i found this out the hard way ... you'll notice my colors are similar ... i LOVE them and think they look so tropical, but i heard so many people say things like "i hate orange" or "i look terrible in yellow" ... i stuck more with the dark red myself). good luck! i think it can look pretty amazing if you pull it off! -
casey we've all been thinking of you and wish you the most amazing wedding day ever! i simply cannot wait to see your pics ... they are sure to be gorgeous! congrats on marrying the love of your life!
