  1. you've come to the right place! there are a ton of threads on PV weddings that i'm sure will help you narrow things down: Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas - Best Destination Wedding Forum ~ The Ultimate Destination Wedding Resource good luck!
  2. woohoo! my nom is running away with it!
  3. oh, just a reminder ladies, weigh-in is TOMORROW!! don't forget! queendiva, i absolutely feel your pain. my FI came home with a huge bag of mcdonald's at MIDNIGHT over the weekend, asking if i wanted any. well of course i *want* mcdonald's! should i? hell no! (i didn't ... yay me) i almost kicked his ass tho when he plopped the bag right in front of me and then proceeded to NOT EAT IT until about 20 minutes later. i had to sit there and smell it and salivate until i finally screamed at him "are you eating it or not?! wtf?!?!"
  4. well, it's that time of the month so i don't think i'm going to be any kind of big loser this week. hate being a woman sometimes. but at least it means i still have time to get healthier *before* getting knocked up. i have done wii fit every day, so yay me. i know it's not much but it's a huge improvement over resting my ass on the couch all night. and i am so out of shape that somehow i *killed* my hamstrings ... with wii. talk about pathetic. guess you gotta start somewhere, right?!
  5. tough call in the MRS category this month! i agree with naM ... how the heck did i end up in this? um, thanks! my vote is IN! Quote: Originally Posted by Kristy! Oh it's on Carly! this made me LOL!
  6. yes, the gazebo is almost always VERY windy. somehow, it was windy at the gazebo every day of my trip EXCEPT my wedding day (which means we sweated to death instead). i had left my hairstyle and the veil/no veil decision up in the air until the very last minute and ended up wearing it half up (mostly down) with the veil, as i had originally wanted. the hairstylist at dreams had concerns about how loose it was (she is used to dealing with the wind there) but just gave me what i asked for and sprayed the heck out of it, haha. you should have a contingency plan in case you cannot wear it the way you'd like to that day. also, due to the wind (and the crashing waves) i highly suggest that you rent the sound system for your ceremony so that both you and your guests can hear! if you are planning on having a video the sound system is a must!
  7. steph, there is also a guy i work with who had it done and was still trying to shove down buckets of KFC just a few weeks afterward. obviously, he only lost minimal weight (maybe 40 lbs when he was well over 350 to start) and then gained it all back, plus. this is why i said i would never get the surgery. my reasons for overeating have absolutely nothing to do "stomach capacity" and that is the *only* thing surgery alone can change. i think it's amazing that you've lost 40 lbs in little over 6 months! also i am so very proud of you for getting up the nerve to do BD! you are my sexy little hero today! keep it up!
  8. oh also, i'm pretty sure in order to qualify for gastric bypass surgery you need to be at least 100 lbs overweight, with a BMI of at least 40. your BMI or weight can be slightly lower than that if you suffer from any chronic health condition because of your weight.

What are your thoughts on this? well, i have never actually considered it, but one of the last times i saw my doctor he had the balls to suggest it. all because at the time i was doing a low carb diet and asked whether there was a sugar free version of the cough syrup he had prescribed. facker. i seriously wanted to smack him. BUT, i will never do any of the procedures like lapband or gastric bypass because they do not fix your HEAD, and *that* is where my problem lies, lol. they wouldn't work for me because they operate on the premise that you won't continue to eat things that make you SICK or eat beyond the point of feeling full (which should happen quickly with your newly minimized stomach capacity). i can't tell you how often i have eaten well beyond being full or feeling ill. overeating is a serious problem and for me, it's mental. no physical surgery can fix that. however, my girlfriend at work got her gastric bypass surgery done in puerto vallarta almost two years ago, looks absolutely amazing, and i'm definitely jealous. something else to consider: the divorce rate for people who have undergone radical weight-altering surgery is many times higher than for those who have not.
  10. ugh karla, me too with the water. and there really just is no excuse for not drinking it the way we should! oryx, hope you heal quickly and the best thing you can do now is forget the past and eat well from now on. dwelling on mistakes doesn't do any of us any good! so it sounds like you are on the right track! sungoddess, congrats!! and thanks for popping in to root for us as well!
  11. was just checking in to see whether margie had her baby yet ... anyone hear anything?
  12. ahhhh tucks i wish one of your friends would upload something to facebook and tag you!!! i cannot wait to see how it all turned out!!!
  13. i was awful friday night and ate several slices of pizza ... so yesterday i played wii fit for like 3 hours. no way that makes up for it, but it's something. and i have finally figured out how to be coordinated enough to do step aerobics, lol. sorry holly, there will be no hilarious videos of me tripping over my own feet. and i got my wii fit age down to 33. which is 4 years younger than my actual age!! i kinda don't want to do a body test ever again now! i had an awesome salad for lunch today with apples and pistachios and low fat cheese. yum! have to make my salads different and interesting or i grow tired of them quickly, kwim?
  14. hope your day is even more amazing than planned ... i'm sure all the girls here are with me in wishing you and dal a lifetime of love and happiness! congrats, mrs. wiz! hehe
  15. happy wedding day, my lovely tucks!!!! i'm so excited for you and can't wait to see the pix!!!!!!!

  17. cecilia, and gaby before her, and daniela before that ... they all seem waaaay more apt to make trades/give credits than claudia (the main WC). for my wedding back in may, claudia would only give me the either gazebo drapery OR an extended video for not using the resort's photographer. i argued but she wouldn't budge. all i wanted was the sound system for the ceremony. my best advice is to just get all your deals in writing so they can't change their mind on you!
  18. T is going to the flyers game tonight which means i can spend the night alone with the wii fit! di, you're right, if i had a big water bottle, i'd *really* have no excuse!
