I'm trying to figure out some other date in May 2009 that might work out for us if our dates (May 15, May 8, or May 14) are truly all booked as it seems they are. It needs to be May as my FH is in school and I won't do any part of hurricane season. Also we (and our guests) need the year to save $$$.
We are doing a civil (legal) wedding so we need to be there 4 business days. I'm a little confused ... I know neither weekends nor your day of arrival count, but can your wedding be ON weekday #4?
I know I read somewhere on this forum that you can't have the services of the judge for the legal ceremony on weekends (is this true??), so that's really screwing everything up, making Friday weddings almost our only possibility (we're set on doing the legal thing IN MEXICO).
Also, I know neither the requirement days nor the civil wedding itself can be on a Mexican holiday. Anyone know what the OFFICIAL Mexican holidays in May are? Cinco de Mayo immediately came to mind but I just read somewhere that it's not official (verification?). Specifically, I was wondering about Memorial Day (May 25, 2009) and whether that was recognized in Mexico.
That's a lot of (probably stupid) questions that have most likely already been answered on here but there's so much info to wade thru (you guys are the best) that it's pretty difficult to find specifics!
