eBay Store - moodswingsonthenet: Party-and-Wedding-Favors: 150 Butterfly Cookie Cutters Wedding Favors Free Ship some great stuff in this ebay store, cheaper than i've seen elsewhere, and all purchases over $50 have FREE SHIPPING! for instance, i've been eye-ing these dolphin bottle openers for wedding favors for a dreams cancun wedding (since they've got the dolphins there on site, i figure it would always remind guests of the resort and the wedding). they've got 'em for $189 for 72 ($2.63 each). this would in actuality be a lot cheaper per piece than the $3.05 i found elsewhere, except that i don't need 72 of 'em. i need about half as many, so it's more money than i need to spend. they've also got cute silver luggage tags (perfect for destination weddings!). unfortunately, the quantities are still too much for me (i really don't need 96!), but i thought i'd pass along the info because the prices are good ($207, or $2.15 each)! hope someone can take advantage of this!

"DANGER IS MY MIDDLE NAME!!!!!" oh and i think it's very cool when brides take on their maiden names as new middle names but my last name is long and unpronounceable so i don't think that'll work! it's a shame too, since my father didn't have any boys, and he was the only son his parents had, so the name ends with me.

so today i went to apply for my passport (don't worry ladies i have plenty of time) and apparently i was incorrect my *entire* life: my middle name is *NOT* marie ... i don't actually *HAVE* a middle name, according to my birth certificate!. so at the passport acceptance facility, i'm there arguing with the lady. "where did 'marie' come from?" "what do you mean? it's my middle name!" "not according to your birth certificate it's not. you don't have one." *quizzical, dumbfounded look* she then made me cross it out everywhere it appeared on the forms. mind you, i'm 35 years old, and have *always* included "my middle name" on forms (legal and otherwise), as well as used "my middle initial" in my signature. it's not on my driver's license either, though i'm sure *i* always included it. i always just assumed it didn't fit due to my very long last name, haha! what the hell??!?!! did my mom forget to give me one and then just lied and made one up one day? i have got to get to the bottom of this! maybe when i change my last name i'll add "marie" while i'm at it ... or even better -- just make up a new one! haha

Which dress do you like better?
cougs replied to APRILOO's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
i personally think the 2nd is much more flattering on you, but that depends on your perspective (you look really boobalicious in #2 ... if you want to minimize rather than emphasize, then you have to go with #1)! i think #2 looks better in the waist and is really flowy ... love the back (like the tiers in the train), though it looks as though it wasn't laced properly and the insert behind the lacing is just sticking up weird (i think that's why most people here haven't liked the back ... properly laced and tucked and you'd look perfect!). i was stuck on dresses with splashes of color for quite awhile, but ultimately decided that years from now it might seem very dated, much in the way we look at big puffy sleeves now and instantly recognize it's an 80s dress. if you know that won't bother you (like if you'd rather be "timely" than "timeless"), then go for it! do what inspires YOU. part of me still wants some color too, so i'm considering a colored petticoat (classic on the outside, party underneath! haha)!!! -

Wedding Disaster: location closing down....
cougs replied to Alyssa's topic in Molokai / Lanai Weddings
looks like i should have read the whole thread before responding! congratulations on your beautiful new venue ... i just KNEW things would work out for you. others have offered, but if you need it, i too would be happy to offer help, specifically with any graphics you might need to redo (i'm a graphic designer. oh, and for free of course ... we could all use some good karma, ya know?). -

wow i just read this and came to the realization i'm not nearly the good human being i'd like to believe i am ... i know that i would be devastated and stressed, but admittedly, i'd be selfishly most upset over having to make changes to my trivial (in the grand scheme of things) wedding plans. the fact that you're feeling so much compassion for the others affected by this speaks very highly of your character. good things happen to good people, and i have no doubt everything will work out for you. best wishes. -
off topic but NYjen, i like the wording in your invites ... "to find out how this story continues" ... usually those types say "find out how the story ENDS" which is IMO totally inappropriate, ya know?! kudos!

yay scrabble brides!! we planned on playing that night after dinner. i was doing the dishes and yelled out to him to get the game all set up while i finished up. when i finished the dishes, the game was still in the box, and he was standing in the middle of the living room watching the phillies game. so of course i get all mad like, "all i asked was that you set up the game while i did the dishes and you couldn't even do that!?!?!" so all in a huff, i ripped open the game box to find the words "lisa will you marry me" spelled out on the board. i thought to myself, "haha very funny" until i realized he might actually be for real, so i whipped around and said "are you serious?!?!?" at which he got on one knee and whipped out my e-ring. i got down there and hugged him and cried (and cried and cried) and kept saying "it's so pretty" until he finally said, "um ... you still haven't said yes ..." hahaha obviously i said yes, and the rest is history. here i am on bdw!

show us your rings!
cougs replied to NABUMBAH's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
wow you ladies have a lot of beautiful bling! cha-ching! our very simple wedding bands have the words "mo anam cara" on them, which is gaelic for "my soul mate." it's not what i would have pictured for my ring, but my FH actually sent the picture to me out of the blue one day and i was just touched that he'd want something that said i was his soulmate, ya know? (he's not usually the sentimental, lovey-dovey type ... i don't even know what got him looking at rings) we got them off ebay and because of the travel involved with the dw, we actually just got sterling silver and paid $60 for BOTH. later i might get it remade in platinum, but for now frugality was the way to go for us (paying for everything ourselves). i won't be able to wear it with my e-ring, but that's ok. i'll just switch that to the other hand. -
actually it looked WAY worse than it felt. the back of both arms and my butt were completely BLACK! i had such a good time that day tho that i totally didn't care and it's still my favorite part of the cruise. we met some honeymooners on the jolly roger who we ended up hanging out with the rest of the cruise ... just great people. we didn't have the "girls gone wild" or spring break factor ... ours was mostly couples in their late 20s - 40s. it was also august ... i'm sure time of year has something to do with it. hadn't considered that tho ... i wouldn't want to subject my family to that either ... maybe just the bridal party?!? hahaha definitely something to think about. edit: i'm pretty sure i could have fallen off the ship, 151-rum punch or not. i'm a total CLUTZ!!!

i finally learned how to post an image here! that's the model, obviously. i'd like a flower too, but in my hair, not around my neck, haha! -
i can't speak for any pirate cruise out of cancun, but my fiance and i went on the "Jolly Roger Booze Cruise" as our excursion in Barbados while on a Carnival Cruise, and it was the most fun we had during the ENTIRE 7-night southern caribbean cruise! any cruise brides should definitely look into it ... it was a blast, and they even stage a "pirate wedding" on board. they anchored offshore where you could walk the plank and dive in or jump in off a rope swing, they had a great dj and dancing the whole time, not to mention the free-flowing 151-rum punch. we got LOADED and had the best time dancing and swimming and drinking all day! We are DEFINITELY looking into doing something similar with our guests in Cancun!!! p.s. drink the rum punch at your own risk!!! i actually FELL off the pirate ship back at the dock (somehow, in the maybe two-foot gap between the boat and the dock) and hit every part of my body on the way down. drunken me thought it hilarious, but everyone else was panic-stricken (in hindsight, i could've been seriously injured). besides the AWFUL bruises everywhere, all was well ... a pirate jumped in to save me, and i hadn't even lost my pirate bandana or mug!

if no one comes up with a free used one for you, you might want to try ebay or craigslist?
