Welcome & congrats on the upcoming wedding! You'll find tuns of info on the site!
  5. Looks like a beautiful set-up!! The watermelon fish are incredible like everyone else is saying! Hope you had an amazing time!
  6. Sorry if this has been discussed before. I did do a search & couldn't find it (but I have missed things before) Anyone who's gotten married at an AI resort... did you have to wear the AI bracelet during the wedding?!? Or did they let you take it off & put it back on afterwards? Although I'm nowhere near my wedding (okay... so I "technically" don't even have one planned yet! lol) I had a nightmare last night about a HUGE lime green AI bracelet being in all my wedding photos!!! lol Anyone have any experiences with this?!
  7. I find the palm tree too distracting, but the bare one is missing something

He tells you that you should put your fork (or whatever else youre' eating with at the moment) down between bites & chew your food ALOT. Your body will have a better chance of registering that it's full before you have stuffed yourself silly. Only problem is in my life I don't really have time to spend 20 minutes eating something that could take me 5 normally! LOL He also says to eat whenever you're hungry. Which I like. Most people try to deprive themselves. But if you can be in tune with your body then you should know when you're hungry or not. Back to the liquid diet. Please be careful in doing these!! They can be beneficial in the cleansing department (doing it short term) but I wouldn't do them for an exrended period of time!!
  9. If I were in the shoes of the other guests who wouldn't be included in the Rehearsal Dinner I honestly wouldn't be offended in the least!! If they're not an important part of the wedding (meaning they don't have a specific role to play that would need direction, etc) then they won't miss anything by not being there. I also can't imagine any of my friends or family being offended in the same situation.
  10. Hope all 3 of you have amazing times!!!!! Don't forget the post pics the second you get back
  11. Wow is the resort ever beautiful!!! Welcome!

    Welcome & happy planning!
  13. Hey guys, I just found my cd of pictures from our trip to the Riu Palace in January. I don't have any wedding info (we didn't even see a single wedding the entire week we were there!) but I do have some personal pictures & can give my honest opinion on the basics of the resort! I'll just post the pics & then if anyone has any questions, just feel free to ask! If I start typing my opinion of everything I think I'll just over-share & give too much info! We also did some shopping & went on a catamaran/snorkel trip so I can give my opinions on those too! 2 pics of the view from our balcony. We were lucky enough to be on the side of the hotel with the "quiet pool" which came in handy the afternoon I had a migraine & needed to nap! 2 pics of the infinity pool on the "quiet side" 2 pics of the view from the lobby bar! I also have some nice pics of Lovers Beach if anyone is interested in seeing them!
  14. I think it's a good idea to send them out even if you think they probably can't make it. In our situation we're not even engaged yet, but have had some family members that we never thought would be coming ask us if they're going to be invited, where we're going, etc.
  15. I LOVE this topic!! So interesting!!!! I am trained as a hairstylist, but stopped that after an especially bad experience working at the Fairmont Banff Springs. Still do family & friends on the side (trying to get out of it, but it's just not working!!) Currently I work for Revenue Canada as an office clerk. Meaning I sort through all the mail & faxes & info we get everyday & try to establish what exactly it is & where exactly it needs to be in order to be dealt with properly! Not the most exciting job, but the pay/hours are pretty great! Downside is that we're "off contract" (laid off) during the quiet times so I am currently sitting at home waiting for a new contract!
  16. My friend had a suggestion that they did at a family members wedding with a too small dress. When all was said & done the dress still did not fit despite all the different things she had tried. The seamstress took out the zipper & made the dress into a lace-up style instead. It was a bit more "sexy" than they had hoped for, but at least the dress stayed up & on! I'm not sure how this would work on a side-zip, but maybe it would work!
  17. If you're REALLY tempted to have the actual doughnut then stop at Timmies on your way to work on Friday & pickup a Timbit or 2. Then you can have a little taste of doughnut, without having to go crazy eating the whole thing! Just a thought..... but now I want Timbits! lol
  18. I just bought a smallish trial size of Benefit Badgal Lash & I'll let you guys know how it is. It's upposedly the #1 selling mascara at Sephora.
  19. Damn. There's no way that we're going to have that sort of thing where I live. Maybe next time I go to Toronto I can find a spa that uses Poetic Wax.

  21. Last night we had a small keg party at a friends place outside in the yard (the weather was ridiculously nice for Northern Ontario so we moved it outdoors) & by early evening my bf & his friends had brought our 42" lcd tv & PS3 into the neighbours garage & set up rock band to play!! lol Now THAT'S what I call obsessed!! I think we're all off the hook for playing now!
