Thank you guys so much! I wasn't home so I missed the calls, but both my Mom & my cousin Shannon called me to say everything went well. I don't have many details because my Moms gone to bed now & Shannon & her husband are staying in a hotel to be near the hospital tonight so I'm going to get more info tomorrow. I feel soooo relieved though knowing that they both called me! Phew. The booties & teddy bear should be sent out to me tomorrow.. so I can bring him his little gifts when I go see them! I think I'm going to give them space until they're feeling back to normal. I'll just make sure she knows (which I'm sure she does) that she can call me anytime she needs to talk! Afterall, I am unemployed! lol

BDW Biggest Loser Season 2 Official CHAT thread...
alex replied to Alyssa's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
I've had an alright day today. I barely slept last night (thinking about my poor little cousin Mac at the hospital) so I was pretty tired all day. I walked 4.6 km (around the lake twice) but skipped the gym. I just didn't have any energy!! It took me 40 minutes to walk the 4.6 km (quick enough pace) Does anyone have any idea how long it should take to walk a km?? I actually considered jogging, but it was raining & pretty slippery so I decided to take it easy. I even said no thanks to chinese food & had wholegrain breaded haddock & rice & veggies for dinner instead! Very proud of myself there too! -
I walked around the lake in town twice (4.6 km) I skipped out on the gym because I have too much going on right now to focus.

Congrats!!! Wishing you a happy & healthy pregnancy! -
WOW! That's all I can say!!

OH, we spent an afternoon at Lover's Beach too & it was great! Cost us $10 each for the water taxi there & back. The driver even gave us a tour of the arches & pointed out some cool things we wouldn't have even noticed! I bet if you had a group to go you could get an even better deal! We brought our own water & beer, but there was a family with a HUGE cooler selling them for a reasonable price!

Some teaser pics

Awesome pics!!! I adore the one of you kissing in the gazebo with the flowers in the foreground - so beautiful! Congrats on your beautiful wedding! -
I'm glad that she didn't remember the hospital visit as a bad thing. Sounds like you had some wonderful nurses! Shannon told me that one of the nurses actually made her feel guilty that she went home last night to sleep (her husband stayed at the hospital) I would have smacked that nurse! I got a bit of sleep & called my Mom this morning. She's going to call & bring them lunch today & offer to bring them lunch everyday this week (she works near the hospital they're at) I only did a bit of shopping on Etsy last night I ordered some camo baby booties & a camo crocheted bear to match! His Daddy does alot of fishing & hunting so I think it's going to be cute! Thank you all again for making me feel better!

As much as I appreciated the concern it was hard enough to keep myself together and I was physically and emotionally drained -plus I hadn't had a shower for about three days (ewwww) the last thing I wanted was visitors. In a hospital you get absolutely no sleep as their are nurses coming in all of the time. The few visitors we had drained me even more as I felt like I had to entertain them and put on a brave face. Your cousin may be feeling the same way- but I am sure she appreciates (as I did) the well wishes and concern. Focus on the things you can do when they get home- maybe cook a meal and drop it off. Organize a meal a day from each family member. Do some lite grocery shopping (add in diapers and wipes for them so they don't need to make a diaper run. Maybe pick up a nice bottle of wine (or their favorite adult beverage) and a movie. Make a mom & dad gift basket- focus on what you can do to bring a smile to their face and make their lives easier! These may be hard being so far away but if you plan on makng the drive...or check online to see if you can find a delivery service! Thank you Thank you Thank you! You just made me feel so much better! (as did everyone who posted) I understand completely about them being drained. She called & explained everything to me which helped because she was able to de-stress by talking. & the fact that I went in my bedroom & held out the phone so she could hear Mat snoring his face off made me laugh too - so that's a bonus! Your idea about getting them a gift basket & some dinner is a great idea!!! My parents live in the same town as they do so it will be easy for me to get them to do something for me. Hell, I'm unemployed so I can always drive down myself & go set something up at their house for them so when they go honme after the end of the week they have everything they need & won't have to worry about going out to get anything. Plus I can see my parents too But if not my parents won't mind doing that for me either. I've researched it enough to understand & she explained everything the Doctors told her so I feel better now. It's nothing to be overly concerned about, but I still feel very upset that he's not well. I just ordered some custom booties off etsy for him. They won't get here for a few weeks, but at least I'll have something special to bring him next time I see him! Here's a pic Shannon just sent me before she went to bed because she figured I'd be not sleeping & freaking out. This is Mac with his best buddy Bailey. God, he looks older than 7 weeks! Thank you girls the posting & making me feel better! I'm gonna browse around etsy some more & then try to get some rest. If I'm still restless I might drive down tomorrow & stay with my parents. That way I'll be nearby, but no in their way!

I agree with Yari - sounds like something is definately up!! It's really weird that she's not being upfront though if she's usually so honest. Maybe give it a few days to cool off & then meet up with her to talk. Might be hard to wait a few days, but it might be easier for the both of you to talk then...

Found Star Fish necklace at Macy's
alex replied to SBlake's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
That's adorable! I like the sparkle factor of it since most starfish pendants I've seen are jus solid. -
Thank you! I feel so useless sitting here, so far away from them! At least if I were with them I could keep them company (they've slept in the hospital in chairs for the last 2 nights!) I can't even call my Mom (who lives in the same town as them) because Shannon made me promise I'll wait til tomorrow to tell her - she doesn't want her to freak out either. I don't think I'm gonna get much sleep tonight. I know he's going to be better soon, but I can't stop picturing him in the hospital with all the wires & tubes he's got right now... *shudder*

It's 11:40 & I just got off the phone with my cousin Shannon. Her 7-week old baby Macisaak has been in the hospital since Friday & is getting surgery tomorrow!!!! He's been diagnosed with something called Pyloric Stenosis. Although it's very common, treatable & he should be back to normal by the end of the week, I'm still really upset! She lives 3 hours away & told me not to drive there even though I was about to pack up & hop in my car! She said she'll call me if she needs me. Mat's sleeping (like out cold sleeping!! I tried to wake him up & he's not responsive <been up since 4am>) & my parents are sleeping & I need somebody to talk to!! I know he's going to be fine, but I suffer from anxiety & I'm kinda freaking out here.... If anyone's awake/online, please talk to me. Just take my mind off little dude...

Congrats!!!! That is such a beautiful & happy picture!

We went snorkeling on the Pez Gato for an afternoon while in Cabo. We booked through our hotel so I'm not sure how else you could find the info. I think it was approx 50 or 60 USD each & we had a great time! The staff was amazing too - they rescued my cowboy hat from the ocean after it blew off while I drunkenly danced to the YMCA (LOL) & had lotion for myself and another woman who ended up with tiny jellyfish stings. They had a small buffet of assorted sandwiches & delicious chips & salsa! Nothing fancy, but it was all pretty tasty!

Even though she doesn't see this site I want to wish my Mommy a WONDERFUL & Happy Mother's Day!! She is an amazing woman, who doesn't always get the thanks that she deserves!! Here is a picture of her & my sister at a wedding 2 years ago. You're beautiful - Love you Mom!!! http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...faye/matam.jpg Also a Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's & Mom's-to-be out there too! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Biggest Loser Info for Today: So my eating wasn't overly great, but also wasn't horrible. Had a couple cups of coffee, skipped lunch because I was way too busy & didn't eat the steak we bbqd for dinner. On the plus side, I drank a few bottles of water, had a bunch of fruit & veggies and didn't pig out at any time! I also walked around Gilles Lake this afternoon ( a lake here in town) It's 2.3 kms around & I wanted to do a second lap, but to be honest I was too warm. I didn't expect how nice it was outside & was roasting in my sweatshirt! We never go to the gym on the weekends so I feel I need to step-up extras on Saturday & Sunday! A friend mentioned walking to the lake, so I'm going to suggest that we get together one night a week & walk her 2 dogs around the lake together! She has a stressful life (owner of a local garden centre) & I could use the companionship for walking so it's going to be win-win! I can't wait! PLUS there's a Tim Hortons right around the corner from the lake so we can treat ourselves to a nice cup of tea if we want to afterwards. I'm pretty excited! Most of my friends are too busy to do anything with so I'm super stoked!!! I'm thinking of trying on some of my clothes that are a little tight right now so help motivate me too. I think that seeing how close I am to fitting in them, it'll make me work harder to push myself to fit into them sooner! I'll spare anybody the bikini pics for now, but I did buy 2 bathing suits recently that I am hoping to fit better into them by the end of this!

Welcome to the forum Julie! I am in the exact same boat as you are (no ring, no date, but planning to go to Cabo) & I think it's great to do your research ahead of time! I have found some wonderful info here & you'll be able to find out whatever you need! Feel free to PM me if you wanna chat anytime!

Gas here shot up to $1.33 a litre, or for the US gals.. $5.04 a gallon!!!!!! Needless to say I didn't gas up today & went home depressed! (I'm unemployed right now)
