Kelly - Have a great time!!! Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of times you can eat at the ala carte restaurants? I am also wondering what people do for entertainment on Wednesday nights if the bar/disco is closed? I have seen this mentioned a few times and am a little concerned as our wedding is on a Wednesday, we were hoping to go over to the bar/lounge once our reception was over. Thanks

We booked the wish package when we confirmed our wedding back in June of this year and at the time we were given the 2008 prices - we have now been given the 2009 prices and our wondering what everyone else is being charged? Wow I have been out of the loop for awhile now. After spending the last couple of hours reading through the posts over the last few months I just want to say congratulations to Becks, and Brook and all the other girls who have gotten married. Missy have a wonderful wedding and enjoy every minute of it!!! I had a couple of questions regarding if the resort charges for the setup of the centerpieces that we would like to bring down? As well as setting up the bows on the chairs and the ceremony arch? ( we are bringing down our own tule) Also Missy if you have time for a quick question before you go (if not no problem) - when you booked in 2007 I remember you mentioning that you secured 2007 rates on certain things as the prices are just getting higher and higher. What rates did your deposit secure at 2007 rates? I booked in 2008 and have just recieved the pricing for 2009 and would like to know if any of the other girls out there are who deposited in 2008 have secured the 2008 rates or is everyone being charged the higher 2009 rates? Yeah April brides! Im getting married on April 29th, and I was thinking I was going ok but after reading the replies here I think I am falling a little behind!! Heres what weve done so far, ~Booked and paid for our resort and airfare ~created Website ~ Sent out STD's ~Booked Photographer ~Bought my dress Still have a lot to do apparently, I better get on it! This is a great thread and im sure it will keep me motivated to get things done as I am a wonderful procrastinator.

Thanks girls! Ryans Girl -- where online did you buy your suit? I might try to scoot down to Macy's one day and see what they have, I find it hard to figure sizes on the internet. We might just have to wait though at least it sounds like I have a little space of time between when they appear in stores and when we leave for the wedding. Thanks again.

Hi Girls, For those that have already had their weddings how far in advance did you book your hair and makeup at the spa? Do we do this on our own or can Perla do it for us? Also does anyone have a list of what the spa offers? I would like to treat my girls and myself to a spa day before the wedding. Thanks!

Hi everyone, FI and I are in the process of looking for a tan suit and after browsing various stores in person and online the pickings are slim as everyones stock is now for winter!!! Does anyone know when most stores bring the summer suits in and how long it usually takes to have them altered and fitted, we are getting married at the end of April and Im concerned we may not have enough time?

Lydiag - Nice to see another Vancouverite considering the Paradisus! My wedding is April 29th and from the posts I have seen over the last few days there are a lot of spring brides on here now! As for outside vendors they do allow them but for a 300$ fee. Most resorts are like that now. We are bringing our own photographer down but since she is staying as a guest at the resort the fee is waived.

Welcome back Becks and Congratulations on becoming a MRS!!! Glad to hear your wedding was great despite the few the bumps. Cant wait for pics!! Fanny - We too are brining our photographer from home and have unlimited hours for photography, we found that this option appealed more to us than having a package deal with limitations with a photographer down there.

Did you ever do a site visit or did you make all your decisions through email? We have been told we have to finalize the details a month ahead of time so that they have time to order things....was wondering if anyone else was told this and how easy would this be if we aren't doing a site visit? Yamille - we havn't got our 09 pricing yet we are basing it on the 08 pricing and leaving room for the price increase as Im sure there will be one!!

This is Perlas new email, she is one of the wedding coordinators at the Paradisus and shes been nothing but great, very quick at responding [email protected] Privacy for us was important as well - the beach site here is off to the side of the resort down the beach away from the main beach with all the loungers. Plus there is only one wedding a day!

Hi, Wondering if anyone has information on the flowers that are provided by the resort? Cost, styles available, pictures... etc? We are debating using silk flowers vs using the resorts flowers, does anyone know the cost difference between the two? If we go with the resort do we pick them out when we arrive or do we need to have them picked before we get there? Thanks!

Hi everyone, So we are getting ready to send in our deposit for the wedding and Perla has mentioned that the final amount is due 1 month before the wedding. Has anyone else been told this? This is a little concerning to us as we won't even have had a chance to see everything or meet with her until we are there and they want the money in full prior to our arrival. What is everyone else doing in regard to this? Thanks!

Hi Jackie, I too am a new Paradisus bride. I know how frustrating it can be, my FI and I must have changed our minds so many times. One of the things that sealed the deal for me was that the Paradisus does one wedding a day, unless you have a really small group then they might do two, but in general its is one. This was huge for us as we didnt want a resort that had the "wedding factory" feel. Also the resort allowed children but didnt cater to them as we are inviting people of all ages. Perla has been fantastic at emaiing back very quickly and takes the time to answer your questions. Hope that helps even just a little.
