Just found this on the net.... "n Mexico, only civil marriage is recognized as legal. Persons wishing to do so may also have a religious ceremony, but it has no legal effect and does not replace in any way the legal binding civil marriage. A civil wedding in Mexico is fully valid for legal purpose in the U.S." So it's because you want a religious ceremony...hmmmm...that's no fair!! Are you willing to forfeit the religious ceremony? Otherwise I think you'd need to get married here first...probably best not to tell any of your guests!, then "get married" again in mexico. I think alot of people do actually do this....

WTF!! what is the point of that? and if the ceremony isnt legally binding what is the purpose of the wedding certificate they will be giving us in mexico. I get married in just over 6 weeks. i'm so stressed now i just dont need this. has anyone else had this problem? Oh no i'm soo sorry to hear this...have either of you been married before? What reason have you been given for your ceremony not being legally binding?

Great review! Thanks You looked soo beautiful on your wedding day..and your right, your flowers are gorgeous! -
I'm getting married in less than 8 weeks now!!woooo 2 weeks...you must be sooo excited!! We aren't doing centrepieces..the roses look gorgeous, but everything is soo expensive at mp, so we've decided to take table runners/chair sashes and thats pretty much the only table deco extras we are doing! You all ready apart from that lady?

It is alot of money for paper lanterns...however....the pictures I've seen of it done just really finish off the terrace area...defo worth the money imho.

It's Lily ive been in contact with...she has been really helpful. Managed to get firedancers and paper lanterns for just under 1000usd...a bit over my original budget of 800usd..but we considered not having the firedancers over the weekend (as they are whats really pushing the price up) but just think it'll be an awesome suprise for our guests...we'll regret it if we don't do it for the sake of 200 dollars!
-
The $350 was for a white dancefloor...i asked for a price for the flashing dancefloor....$750!! Its a definite no no for us at that price. Defo going with the firedancers...think that will be a great suprise for our guests. And defo going for the paper lanterns...would like a better price, but need to wait and see what they come back with. Sooo excited!

Hi girls I got a quote from Zuniga - these prices are BEFORE tax and transportation: paper lanterns - $400 firedancers - $450 portable dance floor - $350 But then the transportation charge is $150...and then with tax...total is coming in at just under $1500 Hoping to get a better quote...but we'll see! Did anyone else get quotes including transportation? If its just on there for the dancefloor...i'll forget that one!!jeezzz!!

I'd really really like to try the make-up for ever but just too hard to get a hold of here

I got a quote from there too, but decided just to go with mp....I'm just going to go with the free flowers I/h2b gets, and only need to buy 2 other guys, 1 bridesmaid and petals for my flowergirl...so it was working out around the same price to get all that artificial, because of the p&p to the uk. And then there was the packing of it in our luggage...didn't think it was worth the hassle for us. Not really sure on colour of flowers, not too fussed about that tbh...will probably go with the red roses I've seen a few brides go with on here, they look really lovely, and my dress is diamond white so will look gorg with that I think! My colour scheme is orange, but don't want to go with that for our flowers...feel like it might be overkill!lol having orange flowergirl dress, bridesmaid dress, table runners and chair sashes so i'll give it a break on the flowers!lol my flowergirl dress will have a hot pink underskirt so think the flowers will complement that! Just got our favors in the other day, and ordered my bridesmaid present....the beautiful bridesmaid book...so will get started on that when it comes in...other than that, not got a lot left to do i've loved planning the wedding, so much fun!

lol That ticker was from last year...I didn't follow any diet, just went to exercise classes, pump, attack, lbt, combat, 4 times a week, cut out the crap (totally for 2 months, then a weekly treat after that) and limited myself to one a day of either bread, pasta or potato. I found this really effective, and cutting out the crap totally for the first 2 months I think was the key...it kick started my metabolism into gear, and by the end, I was losing without trying!! I went to dominican last year for 2 weeks all inclusive with no exercise what so ever and still lost 2 pounds!!lmao i've put on something like 6 pounds since my lowest, but happy that i'll lose that again over the next 11 weeks! Yeah I hear soo many people saying they get freebies when they go over, I doubt I will, I'm not good with stuff like that!! I'm having an outdoor reception and going to chance asking to have the tables arranged a certain way, and if I get that, then I'll probably be happy!lmao Hows your planning going? I love how theres a few other uk brides now!!

I know I'm thinking I'm gonna try hanging mine in the bathroom first too!! I arrive on the monday, but don't meet my wedding co-ordinator til the wednesday, and wedding is on the friday, so i'm gonna try the bathroom route then if it doesn't work, say to her on the wednesday!! Thats one thing about mp, as much as its gorgeous and its only every great things that are said about weddings there, they charge for anything and everything above what you've already paid!! madness!!

The beach set up looks gorgeous - i think they'll be able to send you some good info on the huppas(if that is what they are called!) Will you qualify for the free events? because we have booked through travel agents over here we don't get the free reception so that's a bit annoying! as it's an all inc resort I didn't really want to pay for a dinner however it is our wedding day and it's once in a lifetime so why not! Hi, we are the same, a few of our guests booked direct with mp, others booked through Thomas Cook...so we can't get the group discount...really gutted about that cos it would have saved us a fortune! we have over 25 booked I was the same as you, not wanting to double up for food already included in peoples price, but it is a once in a lifetime event, and we have hired an outside photographer, so the outdoor reception will look amazing! My wedding co-ordinator is also Lily - she's been brilliant so far, always answers my emails, and is pretty prompt too, so I think we've landed lucky going by other peoples experiences on here! I got assigned her when I was still in contact with the miami office, and I questioned their policy on outside photographers, and the contact at miami cc'd me in an email with Lily...so yeah, just ask a question the onsite staff would need to answer! xx

We also needed a solicitor to photocopy our passports and sign and stamp to say we are who we say we are. Both docs were photocopied again and then forwarded onto Virgin. We keep the originals and take them with us. Hope this helps. Hi lady, I'm also from the UK, but didn't book our wedding through a TA, we booked direct with MP. My wedding co-ordinator has confirmed with me many times that we only need certified certs....I went back and forth with her many times on this, because on the youandyourwedding.co.uk forum soo many ppl say they have been told by TA's that you need to go down the route you did...but she says time and time again that for moon palace you don't need to get the certs embossed. Just wondering if it was your wedding co-ordinator who told you this, or Virgin?
