How many do you have going thus far? I am finding my group is more friends of my parents and stuff...there are a few of us younger ones but pricing is a bit too high for most (which sucks but we didn't want translation cost).

I'm worried about making the wrong decision... I'm glad to see that someone else is going to be going through the same things as I am, and around the same time. Take your time and make the right decision for you. There is also Riu Montego Bay opening up this years as well. Could be a possibility On a good note..onced you decide and get booked the stress will be minimal. Best of luck

Thanks for your opinions.10k White Gold Diamond Accent Starfish Pendant I like it...think its cute. Show us your dress and we can see if it goes
  5. Welcome Back and Congrats! Can't wait to see your pics...I was torn between RTB and ROR so I would love to see your pics. I had thought I had heard it was going under construction there, did you hear anything about this when you were there
  6. Congratulations and welcome back. I have heard both good and bad things about Chandlyn in the reviews lately. Do you have any idea why she has the lack for detail lately? Overworked?? Some of these reviews have me concerned. Would you recommend Riu to another bride at this point?

I am finding this now....the ones I knew that were gonna book are and have sent replies back but lots haven't and my RSVP date is next week. *lol* My MOH isn't even booked *long story* but obviously I know she is coming. Maybe I need to nag too as I want to book my reception dinner.
  8. I don't believe we had any trouble booking from the United States. All of our group going from Detroit were able to get rooms. My TA asked Sunquest and they assured there are lots of oceanview rooms still available. Most of my group has already booked so I am calm again. *lol* sorry to be a poopsicle
  9. Yay Becky! Your dress is absolutely beautiful. You should be very happy with it. You're only six months away from Jamaica...should be starting to get excited now. I know I can't wait!
  10. Have fun and try on everything and anything. You might be surprised at which dress is actually the one.
  11. If you have to order a wedding band, how long does it usually take to come in?

  14. Welcome to another Ochi Bride. There is tons of information on this site and the Riu is a popular hotel in Jamaica. Nice choice! It fills up quickly though, so you might want to check into a wedding date if you choose this hotel. Enjoy the site!

Hope your wedding is everything you had hoped for. It will be nice to see a review on one of the other Riu's.

I don't think it would be that hard and definitely a lot cheaper. go for it
  17. do you ladies find you need to order a couple sizes larger than you actually are?? I ordered mine today and was surprised at the size I actually needed.

I am thinking of doing the free package but just adding on some extras like the disco and a dj. I was also looking at the Royal package. What is the real difference between the 2. Can you book a semi-private dinner with the free package or do I have to upgrade? Iam expecting around 30 guests and i definitely want a sit down dinner and a reception afterwards. I have heard people talk about Mamee Bay and the Plantation. What is the difference? Also when can I actually book the disco and restaraunt?? What if more than one bride want them? I am so confused....should I be requesting them this early? Most people take the free package and upgrade the things they want (flowers, photography etc). The Mammee is a semi private reception and I have heard its very nice. You can also do the plantation as well but I think its fairly pricey. If you rent the disco, its something like 9-11 and then open to the rest of the hotel after that. They schedule three weddings (at the most i think) per day so maybe its first come first serve for disco - you would have to check with ones that have been married for that. If you need any more help, feel free to ask or just take a look at all these threads on here. There is soo much information. Happy planning!!

  21. Wow, that is kinda crappy for you. Why don't you see if there is a different day with maybe the time you would like. If you are not too picky about date then it makes sense to try for time. Best of luck..let us know what happens.

They are telling my TA that there is lots of rooms in ocenview for the week we are there so I wasn't worrying too much. 23. Congrats!! This is a load of stress off you I am in the same process as you (just booked)..I am looking for my dress and watching everything on this site to get an idea of what I want for my ceremony. You can decide what you would like but can't really do much until you arrive. Just sit back and enjoy.
