Wow..that is quite steep. Its probably due to "tis the season". Maybe try the bank..I thought I read somewhere that they do them?? Hopefully all works out for you. I have seen that you can scan them and send them to Chandlyn that way. -
J&M..yours looked great I am having mine done here by my hairstylist (she is full of ideas) and then we are going to take a bunch of pictures and have the ladies in Jamaica try and copy it.

You just take a guess when you think they need to go. They need to be there a month prior to the wedding. If I were you, I would send them early to mid Feb just to be sure. -

FH and I completely "stole" the ideas of these brides for our vows. Kvetch: Vows => Giant Vow Repository Here! If you are at all sentimental I would get some tissues ready- some of the vows there made me cry like a baby! The best ones are a few pages in. There is also a reading repository, which is where we got our unusual readings. Kvetch: Vows => Can we make a giant ceremony readings repository? Hope these are as helpful to some of you as they were to me. This site is wonderful...thanks for the post

I am bringing my own as well. I am not the creative type so I have found something online that I really liked. I was going to go with just what they had...but four minutes? Sorry to sidetrack the thread...not my intentions... What does the sand ceremony involved? Do they do the wording and guide you or is this something you do yourself? What is involved? Maybe someone could pm me?

Did you meet your fiance online?
chicklet replied to nicmicj's topic in Share your Wedding & Engagement Stories!
POF seems to be the popular one here ladies. I was on that site but never had any luck with it! I met my man via online but he would never admit that to anyone..*lol*. To this day he told everyone we met at a bar. It was some fluky site called findsomeone.ca where we intially found each other. He used one of those cheesy lines which actually worked (i must have been drunk..*lol*). Here is how it went "I think u have a gorgeous smile and i would love to conversate with u and get to know u" We talked for a few months on and off on msn and kept throwing around the idea to meet but I never thought it would happen. One night I said I was going to the casino for something to do so he decided he would meet there (I am an avid gambler at times). It was history from there. That was four years ago Strange how things happen. -
My dress is strapless and I am concerned about having tan lines. Anyone got an good ideas of where to get a nice bathing suit that I won't have tan lines with?? I need sort of a bandeau kind of bathing suit if that ex

Should I be working on some vows? Do they play a "Wedding song" of your choice in the middle of the ceremony like a traditional wedding? You don't have to write you own vows. They have a regular ceremony that they will provide. If you want something specific, then you should write your own vows. I'm sure they would play a song if you wanted them to. 2. Can I have the "sand cermony" at the Riu? If so, do I need to write something for that? You can do the sand ceremony. If you do it, I would recomend that you wrote something for it, I'm not sure what they would provide. I know you can find a lot of stuff online for this. 3. Cocktail Hour.....why would you have to pay extra per person if this is an all-inclusive resort and all of my guests are staying here? I can't answer this, I don't understand either. I thing you are better off just picking a bar and telling your guests to meet there. That way, your drinks will be included. 4. Reception......Do I need to reserve my restaurant w/ the WC now, or can we do that once we arrive at the hotel? I'm getting married a Riu Ocho Rios, and I have been trying to reserve my restaurant w/ my WC, but she won't get back to me. I would try to arrange it asap to ensure you get what you want. 5. We're not having any attendants.....I've been the MOH in a few weddings, plus my FI's sister is a very good friend, I'd never be able to pick an MOH without hurt feelings.....So who are my 4 witnesses? Can it just be our parents? Do they just sign some papers? It can definately just be your parents. I don't think you even have to have 4. We are having my brother and FI's sister be our witnesses since we don't have a wedding party. Your wedding can be as simple or extravagent as you want it to be. You wouldn't have to plan anything ahead if you don't want, as long as your an easy going bride! The resort is fully prepared to take care of your wedding without you doing everything yourself. Good luck planning! I agree with Anna. Your wedding is exactly what you want it to be. You may choose to do things like write vows, make your bouquets, arrange your music for ceremony or put together a welcome mixer. Its all what you wish to do and how much you feel like being involved. For the most part, the resort will do the majority for you. Sit back and relax, it sounds worse than it actually is once you get going.

Hi All, Just curious what photography package everyone is looking at. do most of u want pictures on a cd or pictures you can bring home with you? Are most people going with Michael? Anyone that has info or used his assitant would be super. I am considering going with his assistant but haven't heard much feedback on his work.

Packing Gown for Airplane
chicklet replied to Opice34's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Anyone had experience with Canadian flights? We are flying skyservice and I have another bride sharing the wedding day/plane with us. I am hoping we will both be able to hang ours in the closet. Mine is fairly heavy and not sure i could lift it that high..*lol*. Here's hoping for both us girls. -
RTB Sold Out April 3 - 11?? AHH!
chicklet replied to soon2bmrsn's topic in Jamaica Accommodations & Site
This happened to us at ROR with two different guests and it sent me into a tizzy!! My MOH was booking in early October and we had a stop sell as well. Luckily for us, there was still airspace on our flight so we had to put her in our room for the week. My TA has a note in to Sunquest that if a room comes available to book her into her own room. The others guests were from Calgary so they chose a different tour operator than Sunquest and managed to get a room and booked on our flight as well. Get your TA to look at a bunch of other tour operators to see if any of them have rooms available. If your guests want to go back enough, they will consider this option (even if the flights are different). -
Its crazy how early you need to book the wedding to get your date eh?? I had to book in March for Jan and the month of Jan filled up not too long after I booked (I would say within a month. Have you booked your date yet? Did you have a specific date you wanted? Which travel agency do you work for? I have friends that live in Oshawa so if we want to go on another trip (after jamaica) I will send them to see you

Readings at ROR ceremonies??

Pick who you want it to be and who you think will make the whole process the easiest on you. Its your day!
-
Don't stress its actually a fairly easy process . Just try and get an idea who might want to go forsure (and be willing to put down the deposit) before you secure your wedding date I actually picked my date because 22's are just the way we roll. Both our birthdays are 22nd's (April and June) so I figured our wedding might as well be too . It was funny cause when I was trying to secure that date I didn't realize that if someone has chosen a time then you couldn't go within two hours of that time frame? (I think that is how it goes) so I thought I couldn't get the 22'nd and was all upset. Then I realize I was just a JackA and needed to pick a different time. One suggestion I have for you, get your guests booked fairly quickly. We ran into a little blunder with my MOH..she has to stay in our room for the week (which is fine cause we are there 2 weeks) as she didn't book till beginning of Oct. Resort sure did fill up fast! Holy I guess I am a wind bag!!! I'll shush.
