  1. I'm with YT...I would at least want to have him match up with bridesmaids. Tell him he has to have some sort of that colour involved .

On a sidenote...when are you girls getting your hair done (in respect to your wedding time). We are doing a 3pm ceremony & I was thinking an 11:30 appt. I have super thick wavy hair. What do you think?? That sounds ok I think...might depend on what you want done (how complicated). In our pricing guide for Riu they gave us timeframe's of how long things would take. Maybe look into that if you are unsure. Anyone nervous?? For some reason, today I am feeling nervous.

You definitely deserve to! I can't believe you are working so much!! I guess someone has to though - just shitty it has to be you right?!! Just think...a few more days & it will all be over with! Ahhhhh. Ahem to that miss blabber ..*lol*. We did a little pre-Jamaica drinking lastnight..made me realize again how much fun we are gonna have!! Two weeks away from this crappy weather and lots of good times. Exactly one month tomorrow we will be getting married. It's hard to believe our time has almost arrived.
  5. Christene - did you end up doing your bathing suit/lingerie party or did the snow ruin it?

Blabbering is definitely fun ..beats shovelling snow (which is what I should be doing).
  11. Thank you ladies! I don't know what I would do without this site...I think I would be a crazy person! I believe this could just be the TA getting hyped cause she forgot to remind me to do this (I am one step ahead due to this site). My response to her seemed to chill her out. I think I will email Chandlyn as well as set up my meeting and just have her double confirm everything is cool. That will ease my mind Thanks again!

If you are using a curling iron, make sure hair isn't freshly washed..do it the night before and use hairspray before you curl.

I have an email from Chandlyn on the 24th of Nov saying she has them. Think I need to send another email? I have printed out almost all of my emails..*lol* my suitcase will be filled with paper instead of clothes..*lol*. I would much rather be safe than sorry...its soo close to departure time Quite exciting on days like today ..uck!
  14. soo here is my paperwork update....my TA called me all in a flap yesterday saying the Riu hadn't received my paperwork yet? I sent it out the middle of Oct and received an email from Chandlyn saying it was there....not sure what is up! Any suggestions for what to do? Maybe contact Chandlyn by phone??

They are beautiful and a great way to add a more 'weddingy' (not a word, I know!)feel to a simple destination wedding. Very, very affordable, compared to Tai Flora prices! [email protected] Kristin can you post a pic??
  16. Went for my hair trial today and it went super!! Hope the girls in Jamaica can copy this

I wouldn't feel comfortable taking him out later in the evening. Most of you are ROR brides so I just wanted to explain the reasoning for going to the "7-mile beach"......The 7-mile beach is one of the things Negril is famous for, apparently it is beautiful with breathtaking sunsets (as I'm sure most of you know from doing research on locations for the DW). Anyway, the Riu Negril is located on the next bay, which I'm sure is still beautiful, but I'd like to take some pics on the 7-mile beach as well. Again, thanks for the replies.....what do you think about the amount of songs I will be playing? do you think there will be enough time or should I cut a few out? Looks ok

Talk to you all soon, Wendy Hi there!! Welcome to the forum. I haven't been married there but have vacationed there. I had a blast..you will love the resort. There is a bartender (he used to work at the pool bar) who is alot of fun...look for him ..his name is Jose. The beaches there were also wonderful. Have a great trip and happy planning.
  19. *lol* i have several favs...just depends on my mood. I am usually a Budweiser drinker though....I love Caesars as well!!
  20. Holy crap...nice location girl!! I can't wait to see those pics

Sorry for all the questions, but I need help....I don't even know how the ceremony is supposed to go. But, here is what I am thinking. We'll have 15-17 guests, no attendants at Riu Negril. Please tell me your opinions....what you'd do differently, or if I'm kind of on track here. 4-4:30- Ceremony Seating of guests (play 1 song) Walking down the aisle (play one song) Vows Sand Ceremony Announcement of "Man & Wife" Walk back down the aisle (play 1 song) Signing of papers (music playing) First Dance on the beach **I don't even know if they announce man & wife or if you walk back down the aisle at a beach wedding, and, if you do, I don't know if you sign the papers before or after you walk back down the aisle. Any info on this is appreciated. 4:30-5:30- Pictures. Guests can do their own thing or I can set up a "cocktail Hour" except the WC said it can't be on the beach, it would have to be in the lobby. I wouldn't want my guests to feel like they have to hang out in the lobby....they can always do their own cocktails at the beach bar. 5:30-9pm- ?I don't know yet?? Maybe do the cocktail hour at the hotel or maybe go to Margaritaville or somewhere else on the 7-mile beach for more cocktails and some pics on the beautiful beach. 9pm- Dinner etc at semi-private location at hotel. After dinner I suppose go to the "disco" if we want because all of the other bars in the hotel will probably be closed. I'm not sure what to do after dinner either. But I'd like to be back to the room ASAP without offending any guests. I'm sorry this is so long, I just want to know if I'm planning this right and what suggestions anyone may have for me. Thanks in advance for any replies! No need to stress.... its jamaica mon!!!! Destination wedding are suppost to be stress free so just go with the flow. I'm getting married at ROR not Negril but you will sign the papers probably after the vows. They pronounce you man and wife and then you walk back down the aisle i would think. Pictures may take you more than 1 hour depending on what you would like. I would lay this out specifically to the photographer so he knows exactly what you are looking for. Disco's in ROR don't open until 11pm unless you book it yourself. The cost was pretty pricy though 250/per hour so if you don't wanna spend the money you may just choose to go to the show or hang out at a bar. Hope this helps
