  1. I'm looking for fake sand dollars to glue to my invitations b/c the real ones are just too delicate. I've looked online and can't find anything except real ones. If anyone knows where I can get fake sand dollars for crafting, please let me know!! Thanks girls!

We are considering having our wedding here too but also looking into off-site options and prices. I was under the impression that wedding ceremonies/dinner at the IB cost $20pp over 10 guests, but I just read on an IB message board (IBEROSTAR HOTELS & RESORTS MESSAGE BOARD | IBEROSTAR REVIEWS & PHOTOS - Index) that if you want to rent out one of the restaurants for a private dinner it is $1000 for the rental and $50 pp for dinner. I assume this is true but wanted to confirm. Also, does anyone know what the cost of a cocktail hour is and the cost of an open bar during the dinner at the IB resorts? I will be emaing the IB WCs but wanted to throw this out to the group as well. Thanks for your help!! Jillian Hey Jillian, I have all the pricing info for the Del Mar. I can email it to you if you want! The cost of the wedding ceremony includes set up, chairs, champagne, etc for 10 people. Every person over 10 is $18. To rent the Tropical Restaurant for a private reception/dinner is $800 for 4 hours. I think the dinner & drinks are included, but I need to double check on that-good question! Cocktail hour is $6 per person/per hour, and if you want appetizers included, it is $12 per person/per hour.

I had a hard time finding sand dollar images that I liked too! I had one of the girls at work design one for me. You can use it if you want!
  4. I'm creating my ceremony program right now, and I'm wondering when the guys go to the alter and do they have special music played? Or would they go down the aisle before the processional during the prelude of songs? Any insight would be much appreciated!
  5. Yeah, it will be very interesting to see how they turn out! I got a suggestion from a guy who sells shells online, so hopefully that will help!

I'm using sand dollars too! I'm attempting to copy another BDW bride's idea by writing the names on the sand dollar. I've tried once, but they're really hard to write on! If I can't make them look good, I'm going to tie ribbons to the sand dollars like you're doing.

As far as I understand it, you are paying the $300 for not using the resort photographer for your actual wedding. The resort photographer package doesn't include a TTD session does it? If not, then I don't think they can charge you for a TTD days later. You will just need to pay for a day pass for your photographer if they are coming in to do the TTD. that's how I understand it... Yes, I agree with Ryan's girl. I asked our WC if it would cost an additional $300 to use an outside videographer as well as an outside photographer and she said no. So I think it's just an upfront penalty fee. But she did say that if the photographer(s) eat, we will need to pay an additional $50 per person for the day pass fee. All these little things keep adding up! uggg

  9. I'm doing similar colors-chocolate & aqua! I just love chocolate brown! Good Luck!

So, I would recommend not doing them all at once. The texture is very rough, so just practice on a few at first. Also, I had to buy two pens for the 45 that I did. Since the texture of the sanddollar is rough, it's going to use up a lot of the pen's point. Just be careful as you are writing because they can easily start to crack. I didn't seal them with anything. Good luck! Thanks so much! I will try out an extra fine sharpie-and I'll make sure and get several of them!
  11. Hi girls! I've been a little out of the loop for a while, but I'm so excited that we have an Iberostar thread! I'm getting married at the Del Mar in May. So far I've booked DJ Bob to be the MC/DJ and Cecilia Dumas as the photographer. I'm planning on booking the Tropical Restaurant for the private reception and have the cocktail hour on the terrace of the Tropical Restaurant beforehand. I'm pretty concerned about the reception decorations. I'd like to have small, square vases of pink flowers at each table with votives. I know I'll have to bring candles and vases. I'm contemplating bringing linens, but I'm not sure I'll want to lug all that down. I also want to get large cups with our logos on them. I didn't even think about getting an insulated cup until I read a thread about that earlier, but that is probably a good idea. Does anyone know how they set up the flowers/decorations at the ceremony?
  12. I think they turned out great and look very similar to your inspiration picture. I actually am going to steal your idea for my wedding! I tried writing on one of them with a permanent sharpie, and it bled all over the sand dollar. What kind of marker did you use? Did you seal them first? I wonder what I could use to seal them? Those suckers are VERY hard to write on, so I think you did a great job!

So FI and I decided to adopt a pug from a local pug rescue, and it has been one of the best decisions we have ever made. I love my little Floyd to pieces! He brings me such joy and he's so funny to watch! Floyd enjoys snuggling under the covers no matter how hot it is, loves the smell of chocolate (I think it's b/c it's one thing we don't let him eat), & stealing bones from our German Shepherd. It's so funny to see the little pug act as the Alpha Dog with our big old German Shepherd! I'm having trouble uploading my pics, but I will try later!
  15. That is so awesome! Was the fabric on yours the same as the fabric on the designer dress? I'm seriously thinking about ordering a dress from here too!
  16. This can be so frustrating! I really didn't think I would have this problem. I assumed most of the people we know were familiar with general rules of etiquette, but apparently not! We had a "friend of the family" (and I use that term loosely b/c we see them once a year and I hardly every speak to the guy) approach my dad and ask if they could come to the wedding b/c they have 'extra miles saved up'! I was like, WTF? I cannot imagine EVER asking to be invited to someone's wedding-especially just so they can take a vacation. Some people are so rude and have no concept of what's going on. If you wanted to invite them to the wedding, you would! I'm at Iberostar too, and all the little extras are adding up to be a lot more than expected. We want it to be nice so we're paying extra for certain things. I just wish the uninvited guests would realize this! Sorry about the rant, but this makes me so mad!! haha!
  17. You really have to wonder what is running through people's minds when they say crap like that. I'm so glad you told her what's up! So awesome!
  18. You poor thing, I feel so awful for you. I hope she takes responsibility and is able to fix the dress you love so much.
  19. What a great website! I have been listening to samples all day!
