  1. Mich, I'm glad the cakes and your mother made it safely and it one piece BTW: your cake is lovely. Jamie.
  2. Welcome Christine! Happy planning.
  3. Welcome Priscilla and happy planning.
  4. I used the one from Sandals.com. I really like it and it's free. I think it would be great for what you want cause you can set up different events. Wedding Planner Software
  5. Kishalee, I too am a dual-citizen Jamaican getting married at home, and I am having a traditional cake at my wedding. If you ask Chandlyn, I'm sure you can arrange to get a traditional cake at the wedding whether she gives you a referral or you bring your own cake. As a Jamaican, adding rum to the cake is just not going to cut it. Last year my mom made my cousin's cakes for her wedding and brought it on property to the Sandals Royal Caribbean - they even dressed it at the resort for us for free - just ask nicely. My mother won't be making my cakes this year, but a friend of her's who bakes for a living is making them. If you'd like her contact info PM me, and I'll pass it along. It won't cost you $500. One other thing, another of my cousins who got married in JA actually travelled with her cakes from CANADA to the resort!! So it can be done, just carefully!! I'm sure you can figure something out.

  9. It's EXTREMELY cold when you first step in as the water runs directly from the river, but you do get acclimatized to it fairly quickly. Cold or not, it's FUN!!! 10. I spoke to Norma, and I was totally impressed. I will definintely be going ahead with her.
  11. YAAY!!! Thanks, StephanieMN. The yellow and green are my wedding colours. I'll make sure to move the names down, so the letters aren't cut off. I'll be printing them on an off-white cardstock, then they'll be cut out to look like luggage tags. The circle at the top is the guide for the hole punch and I'll be tying green satin ribbon at the top of the tag thru the hole. As soon as I print a test, I will post for you to see.
  12. Thanks for the encouraging words everyone......much appreciated. I tried unsuccessfully coverting this document into a picture to avoid you having to download, but had no luck - sorry. I've attached the STD in a PDF document. Please let me know what you think. I value your opinions, so please be honest and I welcome any suggestions. My sister, who is a budding architect and part-time graphic designer, took pity yesterday and offered to help me out....BUT in June. God bless her; she's in the thick of a master's program now, so I didn't want to bother her. I think with the help of the forum though I can get it together. I plan on saving that lifeline until I need help in putting the invitations together. I definitely look into Vista for printing! Thanks, everyone. Jamie. STD.pdf
  13. Welcome Sheila! Happy planning.
