  1. your attitude during this stressful time is absolutely amazing. Not sure if a Maui bride can help you with anything, but let me know if you think of anything I can help you with. Hang in there!
  2. oh, those are too humorous! I love the "tips"
  3. a pic would be great. We were thinking of adding this to our oot bags, too!
  4. I think it's a fabulous idea!
  5. That Ashlee girl, what the hell?? Could she act any more like a 5 year old after she got that rose. I'm sorry, act a little more mature than that. I wanted to reach through the tv & slap the crap out of her. I have strong feelings on this, can't you tell.
  6. oh no! my fiance LOVES sweet tea. Hopefully they DON'T start selling that in AZ!!

We wanted the turquoise water too, hence the 9:30am wedding.
  8. welcome from another noob!!!
  9. welcome fellow, noob!!!!
  10. We're going to be on the beach & I thought the possibility of "unwanted guests" would freak me out (I am a meeting planner & it's my job to kick people out of my private events when they crash), but (remarkably) I'm ok, with it. It'll be something to remember if a big guy in a speedo goes walking on by. my biggest concern was weather back-up, but even that doesn't bother me....if it rains in the am, then we'll do it in the pm. no biggie.
  11. we were together 2 1/2 years before officially getting engaged.
  12. what's making me happy is: cadbury mini eggs being on sale after Easter!

  14. melody, we did have that conversation right off before signing. Booking Gordon is generally a bit more expensive & he was already booked on another wedding when I inquired. I have one of the other photogs, but they gave me the specific photographer & after looking at his portfolio we were completely comfortable. I do understand your concern, though.
  15. agreed, we're actually turning the A/C on for when it hits 88 this afternoon. *runs & hides from brides stuck in the cold & snow* I need to run out & buy a copy of your magazine. It's great to support the local economy!
  16. Ladies- I know most of you are getting married in the Wailea side of the island, but I was wondering if any of you know of a good place on the Lahaina/Ka'anapali side to get my dress pressed once I arrive? I checked in the vendors section, but didn't see anything. I think it's be a great help to future brides if we noted any of these vendors that we use. I put an email out to my wedding coordinator & hotel concierge, so I'll post what I discover.
  17. Thanks for all the love ladies. Most of my guests are staying at the same hotel as us. We reserved a block of rooms at both a condo property (for those who wanted a little less expensive option) as well as a hotel property. We're staying at an older (less commercial) property...The Ka'anapali Beach Hotel, but it's very Hawaiian (they teach hula & lei making classes everyday). I thought my guests who have never been to the islands would really enjoy it. Wailea is gorgeous. We wanted to get married on that side of the island, but the beach we were looking at getting married on could not accommodate the number of guests we were having (bummer). I do have a silly question (and if it's addressed elsewhere I do apologize). I love the wedding logos that you ladies have created. How did you do that? What software? Our computer is pretty basic. I've been inspored by you ladies & your creativity & now we want a logo to use with our OOT bags.
  18. That Brad was a total tool. I love, LOVE this show. It's like my crack. I'm totally addicted. What's with Lorenzo Lamas' daughter?? I have a bachelor pool at work that we always start up (to justify the mindless tv watching)
  19. we're just over 5 months away & we're in really great shape (imo). Done: received dress 1st fitting reception reservations made hotel room rates secured Paid wedding planner in full made room reservations for our week in Maui purchased all plane tix To Do: make Honeymoon room reservation buy his ring buy his outfit finalize design of DIY invitations buy OOT bags & rest of filler items (some already done) make reservation for lunch after the ceremony at the hotel. pick cake flavor finalize bouquet flowers arrange for lei greeting for guests Not Doing: Rehersal Dinner not having wedding party (bridesmaids/groomsmen) I'm sure I left out a ton, but since our wedding is so informal (on the beach) we're not doing alot of traditional stuff.
  20. Thanks for posting this information! We should both have ours way before the wedding, so that'll help apy for the honeymoon!
  21. Alyssa- I'll be thinking of you while we're honeymooning on Oahu on your big day!!!!
  22. I was recommended to stop on by here & say hello. My fiance & I are getting "maui'd" near Kapalua Bay in August & are very excited. There will probably be 20-25 people in attendance & it won't be a very formal affair...we're having our "reception" at a public luau later that evening. We're getting married in the morning (we chatted with our wedding planner & she suggested the am if we want that really tropical turquoise blue water in the pictures). We're using A Paradise Dream Wedding as our planning company (Gorgon Nash Photography). Anyone else using them?
