  1. Joey was my first love, and I tell FI that he is the only man that I would ever consider having an affair with!
  2. I've been checking weather.com for 10-forecast updates everyday, and the forecast changes just about everyday. I think that speaks volumes regarding how quickly rain can come in and how quickly it can leave. All I really want is no rain for my wedding and pictures - the rest of the time I can deal with it.
  3. Kudos to you for taking that on yourself! If all goes well, maybe you've found yourself a new career?!?
  4. Congrats Heather! Unfortunately I'm not help bc I'm a SGOR bride, but I do know how great it feels to have your trip and ceremony booked! A few more SGOR brides have been straggling in. Hopefully Negril brides will too!
  5. I was wedding planning at the first mention of FI saving for a ring - and that was a good 4 years ago! When we were dating we would always talk about having a DW. Those discussions made our official planning much easier when we got engaged!
  6. We're staying at SGOR for 6 nights and it's just over $3K, but we got an upgraded room. Our immediate families will be at Beaches Boscobel (good option with kiddies), and spent approximately the same. Sandals and Beaches also run really good specials. Definitely check their website. I think if you go with a basic room you will come out right around your budget.
  7. We are arriving on Sunday (actually next Sunday - yay!) and getting married on Wednesday. We weren't set on Wednesday when we booked our trip. The residency requirement for Jamaica played a large part. I agree with the other BDW brides that cost shouldn't increase for a specific day unless you're using outside vendors. Besides cost, I do think that some days are just more popular for weddings. You might just want to pick and off day and time to avoid "crowds" so to speak.
  8. I think taking the wedding ring off and still celebrating a Bachelorette is a good alternative to something totally new. I'm the first out of my friends to take the plunge. It'll be fun to alternate being Bachelorette when everyone is hitched!
  9. Just one song - my brother is a terrific trumpet player, so he's playing Trumpet Voluntary as I walk down the aisle. Lucky for me he's musically inclined, so he's putting together a special version just for me. Our MOH and BM will already be at the altar along with FI, so I just needed a song for me and my dad.
  10. I bought my dress from Ann Taylor Loft. Below is a pic of me with my sister at my shower last month. I love this dress - I can wear it to dinner on my Weddingmoon AND to work with a cardigan! I <3 Ann Taylor

They had told me July so I was somewhat nervous, but it came in way ahead of time. What dress did you get? Here are pics of my dress especially for the Sandals brides! The lighting is always horrible for pics in those little fitting rooms!

Gee, if that's how brilliant your thinking is without coffee, you must be downright amazing once you've had that first sip!

I got the last little details set up and taken care of and I also found out she is going to be at SGOR the 15th-19th so she said she was gonna come look me up in the salon when I am having my hair done..lol Not that I really believe she will cause I know she is a busy lady, but hey it is the thought that counts right?? Anyways, keep an eye out for her she is 4'11 with dark hair and eyes...lol I can't wait to meet up with you ladies either! When are you leaving? I can't believe how close we all are! It feels like just yesterday I started my 3 month coundown and really started buckling down on wedding plans! My problem right now is that I can't seem to stop buying clothes for the trip. That's ironic considering it's my honeymoon AND it's Jamaica, so clothes aren't really that important! Speaking of clothes - what are you ladies taking to wear to dinner? We're there a total of 5 evenings (6 if you count the wedding, but I think we get dinner in our room that night), and I have 4 dresses. It's my understanding that not all of the restaurants for dinner require fancy attire and that a cute top and skirt, shorts, capris would work for most of them. Is that similar to what you ladies have read/heard?
  15. Has anyone here had or is having a Bacholerotte party after the wedding? Mine was originally scheduled for this weekend, but scheduling conflicts forced my MOH to regretfully back out, and I didn't want to celebrate without her. With my wedding in just over a week, we decided to pick a weekend after the wedding. Obviously we'll need to call it something other than a Bachelorette - anyone have any ideas?

I've looked online to get an idea of where to go and there seems to be nothing on-line at all. All that are shown are the short, sexy baby-doll types. I guess I'll have to hit some of the stores in person. I'm almost certain the Victoria's Secret website has a Wedding section, and I recall seeing sexy, but not as skimpy items there. I got lingerie at my shower, but not from my mom. My sister and FSIL took care of that!

We are just looking for a place to relax in the sun, enjoy ourselves..not too much into the partying scene. I have heard many complaints about the noises from the airport though.. Just curious to see what people have to say about this resort and area! Thanks The only thing negative I've really heard is about the airport noise. Might not be too relaxing with all that. I've been checking out TripAdvisor periodically to read reviews. Some are helpful, others you can just tell are written by people who are never happy with anything! The one plus is that it's definitely close to the airport. The one thing I'm not looking forward to is the 2 hour bus ride to SGOR!

(because I work in a call centre and am hard to reach!/work shift work) How is/was your experience dealing with her?? I think her job will be easy, it's only the two of us coming down! Do we pick what day we get married? Will she book hair/make up for me?? Any info would help! Thanks! All of my communication with my WC (Darma) has been done via email. Her signature says to allow 24-48 hours for a response, and that was the case on all but 2 occasions. She's been very helpful, BUT it's important to note that before bookings can be made for things like hair and make-up, they must be paid for in full. The same goes for any ceremony upgrades (upgraded flowers, bouquet, Preston Bailey, etc). We went to our TA to make payments for any extras and everything went through fine. We booked our trip and did the prelim wedding stuff (picking date, time, etc.) through our TA. Our TA even took care of submitting our paperwork so our marriage documents could be drawn up.

I've been too busy to stress over the wedding the way I want to or even enjoy this sweet moment the way I want. I hope to see you at SGOR. We'll have to meet and have a toast. We'll definitely have to try and meet up. I'll be there 5/18-5/24! I've decided to postpone my bachelorette until after the wedding and call it something else, just for times sake. While I can definitely use a weekend of debauchery with my girls, I also need to pack and tie up lots of small, but still loose, ends! I plan on working right up until the day before we leave, so that will just leave evenings, and I'm always exhausted

I think the list you're referring to with the hair prices also includes reception info, but if you need that, let me know!

It felt like it never would and i was really stressing. I know I was driving my FI nutts! The last thing We have to do is book the hotel by the airport. We are 2 hours from it and our flight leaves really early. I think I am going to do that this morning. I am just really excited and wanted to share that with everyone!!! whooohooooo I'm excited that you're excited!!! I'm totally hearing you about the time flying by. We have less than 2 weeks until we're in Jamaica, and work is crazy, so I have my hands full 8-10 hours of the day and I have to sleep at some point! I'm really stressing myself out. Last week I tried to heat up my lunch at work in the photocopier! Oh my... I just need to take a deep breath and relax. Everything is taken care of. We're about 2 hours away from the airport as well, so we just booked our hotel. To me, it's definitely worth the piece of mind knowing that we're just a couple of miles from the airport! FI just had a flat tire this weekend, and that could have happened on the way to the airport if we hadn't thought ahead!
  22. Tammy - I admire you fostering pets. Both of my cats were in foster homes before I adopted them, and they were so well cared for. It's nice for pets to have a "home" while they wait to be adopted!

Plus, we're just starting out, so we can't do extravagant adventures for special occasions just yet!
  24. We are not going someplace else for our honeymoon, and we purposely planned our wedding this way. We are staying at SGOR and our families are staying at nearby Beaches Boscobel. Since our families are arriving the afternoon before the wedding, we won't see them until wedding day. We're not doing activities with our guests the days up to the wedding and after. Our families are very respectful of the fact that we are staying at a different resort. However, we are all on the same return flight home!
