Lizzy Hi ~ I am actually planning to have a non-resort wedding in Akumal, which is about 15 minutes from Tulum. My caterer, Jen, is not only preparing a buffet dinner for us, she is also providing the cake/cupcakes through their bakery ~ Turtle Bay Cafe - which I've heard is pretty well known and highly recommended in the area. So that might be an option. Yesterday I emailed her about possibly making us a small cake for photo and cutting purposes but then serving a bunch of cupcakes to guests and she said she'd happily do so. The quote was $3.00 per cupcake and she provided me with this sample pic of her work, which I think looks amazing with all the chocolate cupcakes so beautifully decorated. For mine, I think I'll be having her prepare a mixture of flavors - yellow, chocolate, etc. so there's something for everyone! You can also check out their web site at turtlebaycafe.com for other photos of cakes. I read only good reviews and so far are reasonably priced!!! But me and FI are making a site visit in June to make sure it's what we're looking and hoping for =) -

However, a house in our desired area came up within our price range and we jumped. Now we wait, and wait, and then what? I havn't even learned everything I need to know yet! Any veterans of the market out there? First of all, congrats!!! Making the move to purchase a house is a huge step, you must be so excited. FI and I are actually both sideline real estate agents, along with my dad and his mom who are full-time realtors, so in response to your question.....the next step is basically to wait and see what kind of response you get for your offer. Depending if there were other offers being entertained, either the seller will come back with an acceptance of your offer or send you a counter-offer, which will give you a list of proposed changes or modifications. If you get a counter-offer, then the ball is back in your court and its up to you to decide if you agree to their proposed terms, or you can send them your own counter to their counter, get it Time is of the essence, as they could also be sending out counters to other parties, and sometimes its just a matter of who responds to their last proposal the quickest. But in today's market, which is def. a buyer's market, sellers are very flexibe and willing to give the buyer what they want. It's because there's so much inventory out there right now, and sellers know if they don't work with you, you can pretty much walk away and find another home with ease. So don't feel rush, take your time and really sort through your options and decide what you're willing to negotiate on. Most of the time buyers and sellers can agree somewhere in the middle. Sorry if I'm confusing you a bit, first time home buying can be a little stressful at times because a lot of it is a waiting game. The first time will def. be a huge learning experience, but once you've gone through it once, you'll be a pro!! =) Again, congrats and good luck on your offer!! ~ If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask =)

Ok, yes this is totally counterproductive to the bride-to-be diet, BUT it's 31 cent scoop night at Baskin Robbins today ~ yummy!! Plus, by participating in the special you're also showing your support to local firefighters because part of the proceeds will go to Baskin Robbin's $100,000 pledge to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The deal is limited to 10 scoops per person, hahaha wow that's a lot, but ok I guess some people can get greedy, and will be offered from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. today ~ April 30th. YAY ~ so show your support to firefighters nationwide and indulge in some ice cream ~ happy eats everyone!!!

I use it all the time for t.v. work and it really gives you flawless, even coverage =) I've always had trouble matching my skin tone but their shades blend in really well! Does work really well under stage/camera lights so I'm sure it would work well in natural heat and humidity.

Great White Kills Man in San Diego ~ Eeek!!

Same symptoms you experience but she's perfectly fine when it comes to snorkeling or being in the water with fish. We're not quite gonna test the swimming with dolphins that's too much contact, which I know is popular in the Riviera Maya, but she's been good with snorkeling. It's strange because she can eat shellfish (crabs, shrimp, lobster, etc.) but with fish it's like she even gets hives when the aroma's in the air, which sucks cause we're Filipino and eat fish practically twice a week. She's always yellin at me for not eating fish when I was pregnant, lol, I was more a pizza everyday girl hahaha. And, yes please PM me, I love to pick the brain of fellow journalists!! I just got started in the business (printwise) ~ but have done doing some tv reporting before that. Would love to hear more details about the mag. you work for =) -
How do you say this in Spanish?
MarieSam replied to MarieSam's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Thanks ladies!! So then it should say ~ "Verano del Amor" -
Happy travels and lots of wishes for a perfect wedding!!!
-
Ok, so me and FI are designing our logo for our OOT bags but don't want to put out names on it so people can use them past our wedding weekend. We want to do something different to go along with the wedding in mexico theme so...... How do you say "Summer of Love" in Spanish? I did an internet translation and it said "El Verano de Amor" ~ for the Spanish speakers, is that right? Just want to make sure that's how it's translated in the spoken word and not just some generic dictionary translation. Thanks much ~ gracias!!!
