Someone broke into my car and stole some OOT stuff =*(
MarieSam replied to MarieSam's topic in Just venting or funnies
Too all the ladies ~ thank you so much for caring. I was feeling so awful last night when it all happened, and your kind words really helped me feel a lot better about the situation I too am a firm believer in karma, so whoever took my stuff is in for it. But the other side of me -- the Catholic girl in me -- is also thinking maybe this person was really in dire need of some money, a source of cash, stuff, etc. A desperate person who needed to feed or provide for his/her family. Who knows...it sucks to have even happened. But yes, I'm just glad the damage was minimal and no one in my family was hurt. <sigh of relief> On a side note, I was too scared to ask FI/DH what his mom said when he told her what happened. I'll have to build up the courage to ask later today. Nevertheless, I'm now on the hunt for 25 beach mats..... Again, thank you ladies for all the kind words, it truly means a lot!!! =) -

But my poor little 12 year old is now totally freaked to even go outside =( Quote: Originally Posted by vale Soooo sorry, thats awful, especially taking things like cards that cannot be replaced. I totally drove through the area this morning when I got home from work (6:30 a.m.) and didn't see anything, even went to look at some nearby trash cans just in case. But no luck whatsoever, unfortunately =( Quote: Originally Posted by cmmdee Aw! I am so sorry! The good things is your wedding is awhile away and karma is a b*!!! It will get whoever did it in the butt! Trust!!! I sorry! Hugs! p.s. You and your FI make a hot couple!! Yanno crazy enough no CD's were taken, and I had tons but DH said that its probably because its so easy to download songs off the internet these days. I truly empathize with anyone who's gone through this, I can't even imagine what its like to have your home robbed or to be robbed at gunpoint. I'm just glad, the damage was minimal. And you're right, karma is a biatch!!! Thanks so much for the compliment, it made me smile - I'm a lucky girl, my FI is definitely a cutie and even more beautiful inside =) Quote: Originally Posted by DanielleNDerek What a jerk. I'm a firm believer in paybacks, one day he'll get his. haha, totally agree ~ FI said Im sure he/she/they are sitting at home cursing up a storm and feeling stupid for taking beach mats and a bunch of empty cards!! That gave me a chuckle =) -
You look gorgeous ~ your DH will LOVE these!!! I'm trying to build up the courage to do a boudoir session myself, but I don't know if I have it in me, I'd worry too much about how I look, trying to position myself in angles that make me look "unfat" lol, etc. Anyhow, they're are lovely ~ he's gonna go bananas when he sees these!!!

I guess you're lucky that's all they took, but at the same time how annoying! LOL, can you picture these stupid idiots making OOT bags?! OR maybe they they thought they would make great birthday presents which is why they also took the birthday cards. What jackasses. I'm sorry this happened to you. I hope you can buy replacements! Jessica, you can't believed how annoyed I am. Ugh!!! The OOT bag making thought is pretty funny though, hehehe. I keep thinking of a guy dressed in all black, with gloves on putting my beachmats in canvas bags. lol. <but still a jackass nevertheless> Luckily I think we will be able to find replacements. I just hate that the birthday sentiments in all those cards made to my FMIL are all gone, I feel awful having to tell her what happened. -
SATC chat thread-if you haven't seen the movie-don't read this
MarieSam replied to Christine's topic in Random Thoughts
Saw the movie on Sat. with four other girlfriends and it was GREAT!!! I loved so many parts of the movie, and plenty of moments got me to tears. It also got me thinking that if my FI ever stood me up like that, I'd have to kick his ass. lol, but yes I too have some problems with certain things. 1) Carrie and Big's reuniting moment. Um, WTF? So she reads some emails from him, that he copied outta a book and then the next time she sees him there's no arguing or confrontation, she just runs into his arms?? Really? You go without speaking for months, look like a hot mess for several days after he stood you up at the altar and then he quotes words of love from other men and then y'all are cozied up on the ground together and it's all good? It kinda seems like the writers were like "ok we gotta wrap this shit up". 2) Samantha really needed to hook up with the hot latin neighbor. I needed payoff from this "tease" ~ I was halfway expecting him to pop up in New York somehow in the end, I mean come on!!! It's Samantha, she always closes the deal when it comes to her sexual urges. 3) Did Samantha really look like she got fat from the stress? My BF and I agreed that was a stretch because aside from some tiny little gut rolls she had when she was sitting there, I didn't see enough to make me think "damn she's been eating her way through issues." 4) Sarah Jessica Parker needs to eat a cheeseburger or two. The girl is literally a bunch of skin and tendons. She seems like she's even skinnier than she was before, and I didn't think that was possible!! 5) Did the TV series ever address Carrie's relationship with her parents?? I was wondering that during the wedding stuff. Aside from that, I LOVED all the fashion. Even Miranda who used to be the plain Jane has found her groove stylewise. I hope there's another one =) And yes, I loved the assistant role in Carrie's life, it added a nice touch! It's one of those movies I'd like to watch again to see if I missed anything!! -
CourtneyV's Wedding Review w/Pics!!
MarieSam replied to CourtneyV's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Ok no easy way to say this but how freaking beautiful were you? WOW ~ you looked amazing Courtney, so happy and radiant. And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your dress! I'm so happy to hear its a Maggie because the two dresses I've been stalking online are Maggies too =) Your teaser TTD pic is gorgeous, I love how the color of the wall just makes everything pop in contrast. Can't wait to see more!!! Congrats to you and the hubby, it seems like everything was amazing -
Horrible, exhausted, freaked out, violated, pissed off....these are all accurate ways to describe my mood right now as I sit here at work trying to figure out everything that was taken when some dumb f*#k broke into my car last night. FI, my daughter and I along with FI's best friend and his family spent a great day at Disneyland on Monday. Came home about 7'ish so I could catch a nap before work, so while I'm getting ready for work FI takes my car to get fill it up with gas but when he comes back he says he thinks my car was broken into because the trunk was left open, and the two driver's side doors were left ajar. He didn't bother to tell me when he first discovered it because regardless, I still needed gas to ge to work. So I go out there, and as soon as I look into my car I knew for damn sure someone freaking ransacked the shit outta my car. Everything was taken outta the glove compartments, moved around, etc., etc. I'm totally freaked because someone was rummaging through my stuff but the weird thing is they didn't bother to take a lot of things (bags full of clothes with receipts and tags, tennis shoes in boxes, 2 nice leather jacket, gift cards??). Then I notice my LAPD headquarters pass and LAPD press pass is laying on my seat and I wonder if they saw it and freaked thinking I'm somehow associated with the police. We call to report the break-in, and suddenly I realize my freaking beach mats for the OOT bags are missing from my trunk!!! Those freaking jackasses took 25 mats that my FMIL bought for our bags. =( Glad to say they were only 99 cents apiece, but it still hurts because that's wedding stuff, yanno?....Even the deputy that showed up to take the report said how stupid they were for taking something like that. I mean really, what the hell ~ are they doing OOT bags too He also said a detective might call to take prints, so we'll see.... On the way to work, I then realize something else that was taken from my car. We had a suprise 60th bday party for my FMIL, and I took all her bday cards to make a scrapbook. They were in a gift bag in my backseat, and that idiot(s) took those too, probably thinking there were giftcards and checks inside, luckily there weren't. Now that, I truly feel awful about because those were of sentimental value to her and can't be replaced. I'm so mad right now, mad and sad. It's also bothersome that someone went through my stuff...*sigh* I had tons of wedding related things in there, but it's so strange that of all things they took my beachmats and some birthday cards On a lighter note.......my mom, of course trying to make light of the situation and make me laugh, asked "did they at least leave you a note saying - hey lady, we had a hard time deciding what to steal from you because your car's so messy and full of junk". Mothers, you gotta love em .... Sorry so long, I needed to vent!!!!

Wow, everything in your wedding looked beautiful ~ I love the colors you used, and it looks like all your preparation paid off. And, you looked stunning. Congrats!!!! I tried looking on ziggosluau.com and couldn't find the raffia fans ~ how much did you pay per dozen? Also where did you get your sand dollars from? They look great as place cards ~ I might steal that idea!! And did they smell when you purchased them? I've heard the starfish have a stinky odor to em, and was wondering if its the same for the sand dollars lol Once again, Congrats ~ you and your hubby look like you had a wonderful wedding.

HOAX: EVERYTHING is $1!!!!! Nordstrom e.l.f. makeup!
MarieSam replied to monicabrandon2008's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
I got my stuff ok: Hey ladies ~ I ordered about $75 worth of stuff from ELF about a year ago, a massive order for me and 3 other friends. And, I received everything just fine. The order was complete, and from what I remember I got everything in about a week. My opinion on their products: Yes, some of the stuff is comparable to the cheaper brands (Wet and Wild, etc.) and the sizes are somewhat smaller, especially the shadows. BUT, their lipglosses are pretty good, and makeup tools are actually a good quality. Their brushes are worth it for being just a dollar, since makeup brushes tend to be pretty expensive. I'd say it's all pretty damn good for a dollar apiece. So based on my experience from about a year ago, I got everything I ordered. It sucks that others have had problems, but I guess the good thing is that the stuff is so cheap it's not the hugest loss When someone told me about it I thought "hell, $1 makeup??" and after spending tons of money on favs like Smashbox, Too Faced, etc...I thought, why not?? -
Cheap dress on sale....
MarieSam replied to Nrvsbride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Oooohh I saw that dress at the Nordstrom website before too and couldn't believe the price!! Nordstrom's has TONS of cute wedding gowns and bridesmaid's dresses that are very unique and not your typical stuff, and suprisingly a lot of choices aren't too expensive =) -
My donation is late ~ sorry I got slammed with tons of work and have been so busy ~ but I just sent it!! Hope Ann, her hubby and the baby are doing well =) Many blessings to the new arrival

Is it too late to send money to the fund? I just got paid today?

She's never been to Cabo so I am a little scared for her bc I have never heard of this place. Thanks. I've actually stayed there twice before (last time being about 5 years ago), and will be making my third visit come July for a family vacation. We've used our timeshare unit exchange to stay at the Villa del Palmar and have loved it! Some of the rooms are aging, but I heard that they remodeled some buildings last year ~ so hopefully that is no longer an issue. They've got three great pools, including a fun whale slide for kids, good happy hours specials and delicious food. The service was also very good from what I remember. They also have two sisters resorts right next door that were recently built that I heard were fabulous. So I don't think you need to worry about your friend ~ plus the Villa del Palmar is located on Playa Medano (the main "swimmable" beach, but it is quite a walk from the public area of the beach so it still gives you a sense of seclusion). Hope that helps ease the worries!

I get the occasional one, but it's nothing like age 12-23. I also try to be much better about sunscreen. Thank you so much Morgan, that makes me feel better =) ~ the pic was taken a couple months ago. But I think I also started noticing changes in my skin since I started working overnights in October. I honestly don't think I'm getting enuff rest and this ass backwards schedule is killing me. hmmm.... and I'm def. not drinking enuff water. Luckily I've managed to avoid breakouts except right before the period starts, but oh well its not unbearable, hehe. And I think you're right sunscreen is def. key. I just hate it when it stings my eyes!!! Also virgin coconut oil is really good for skin and has a similar effect as cocoa butter. It helps with wrinkle prevention, I get mine here: Welcome to Tropical Traditions! (their baby silk overnight cream is amazing too, and all natural if that matters to you) The most effective for me so far is the Regenerist line by Oil of Olay. (and lots of water, my skin seriously suffers when I don't drink enough!) Thanks for the compliments Starchild ~ you ladies make me feel so much better! I LOVE Palmer's cocoa butter, but have never used it on my face, I'm def. gonna try it ~ and that site sounds great. I will check it out ASAP =) Wow, Oil of Olay huh? I think I will pick some of that up today~ my parents swear by it!! And ditto on the water - I need to seriously get back on track when it comes to keeping hydrated! Thanks girls ~ these tips are GREAT

Damn Sandra, it's 5 a.m. in Cali right now and I'm at work ~ but I swear I'ma get off at 6 a.m. and go make that salad. It sounds deelish!!!

Hey ladies, just a heads up ULTA is offering a great deal right now for a free "striped convertible tote" when you purchase 2 ULTA bath, spa or suncare items. I think the cheapest item is about $8.00 for body lotions, shower gels, etc. and they have really yummy scents. I looked at the tote bags the other day and they're a good size and can double up as a good beach bag -one has blue/green stripes, the other has pink stripes and the third orange/neutral stripes. All are really cute and the bag is apparently worth about $30.00 ~ so I think it's a great deal!! A nice gift for bridesmaids I think, and if I hadn't already bought my BM gifts I'd jump all over this!!! So just a tip for you searching for a good deal, check out at ULTA.com - I think there's a pic of the aqua bag on the middle right of the web site.

Tried to post this earlier, but for some reason I don't think it did.... Anyhow, I've recently been noticing some changes in my face that I'm assumming are happening because I've hit my 30s =( and it is driving me absolutely freaking nuts!!!! There's random redness, spots that appear and then disappear, dryness more than usual, and I swear I can see the early signs of a wrinkle right between my eyebrows. Everyone says I'm imagining it, but I see it there!!! and I know it's probably my punishment for not using sunblock or sunscreen as a young, naive child. <sigh> So I was wondering if anyone can suggest some kick ass creme, moisturizer or serum that is good for "aging" 30-something skin? (good lord that sounds so depressing!!) When I first went through this "freak out" I went to the store and went bananas buying all kinds of creams, lotions, etc., but so far they don't seem to be working at least not enough for me to notice. So help!!! This is driving me into depression......

Sounds amazing ~ I loved Venice and pretty much all of Italy it is such a picturesque country with so much culture and beauty, what an exciting place to get married =) Would definitely love to see your ideas and pics of the peacock theme, I've never heard of it before but it sounds like it will be beautiful!!! Congrats and Happy Planning
