Oooh for some reason I thought I remember seeing someone in this forum mention Caleta Tankah as their wedding site!! I hope I'm wrong and if not, I hope their day comes before it shuts down so it won't affect their plans Quote: Originally Posted by can't wait! The article also mentioned Dreams Tulum and Azul Blue were NOT closed. whew!

That is wonderful!! Personally I think spirituality in a marriage can definitely help make things stronger =)

This broke on the AP earlier today, but it doesn't mention which hotels?? Anyone know which ones? AP Mexico closes hotels south of Cancun Thursday July 10, 7:53 am ET Mexico's environmental department closes 5 small hotels south of Cancun MEXICO CITY (AP) -- Mexico's Environmental Department is closing down at least five small, upscale hotels and three other developments south of Cancun. Officials say the businesses don't have permission to operate in the protected area near the Tulum Ruins. Inspectors and soldiers arrived Monday to post closed signs. They say they will be back on Friday to permanently close the businesses and begin clearing out guests. The closures were officially announced Wednesday. Hotel owners say their papers are in order and the government can't shut them down. Federal environmental prosecutor Patricio Patron says the hotels could eventually be demolished if the owners can't prove their legal right to the land. But he says that will take a year or more.

I already have a 12-year-old and her name is ~ Cheyenne Marie. FI and I have already planned the names of our future seeds too =) 1. (pronounced Kya) Kaia Lynn 2. Samantha Milan (like the city) 3. Brooklyn Simone 4. Thomas Eugene (III) - so we'll call him "Tre" to reflect that he is the III 5. (pronounced Jackson) Jaxon Xavier Now we just have to figure out which names to eventually pick, because I don't think my body can take going through 5 more births!!!

First off my FI and I are snorkeling addicts and have been to Xel Ha twice and have LOVED it!! We've heard a lot about Yal Ku Lagoon in Akumal too, and actually got a chance to see it, but never snorkel in it, a couple weeks ago. It was lovely and seemed just like a smaller version of Xel Ha and a lot less commercialized and expensive ~ $8 for the day opposed to the $60+ at Xel Ha. Anyone ever been to Yal Ku? And if so, how is the snorkeling there? Is there lots of marine life?? How do the two compare?

I can't understand how they actually thought it was ok to plant a field of flowers right on her forehead.... Or maybe I'm just not chic and edgy enough to see the reasoning, lol.

Great tips ~ I will definitely look this up once I'm ready to purchase my hair flower!! Thanks so much =) On a side note ~ Do people actually wear flowers right on their forehead?? Those pics of that girl with basically a bouquet planted right on her forehead cracks me up!!! Quote: Originally Posted by Kelly C I just looked them up. they look great. Which one did you order? Amy you are so sweet helping all these brides with their monograms and your work is really great and creative!!! It's awesome that you are willing to lend your talents on something I think is so significant in the planning process What programs are you using by the way to make all these wonderful creations? And where are you getting the graphics? Again, I think you're fantastic and truly talented!!!!

Gorgeous and such a classy feel to them, you must be thrilled about how nice they turned out!! You guys are too cute together, and I don't know if you've got children planned in your future, but if so, they are going to be beautiful And where did you take these by the way? I love the big city feel to them, but yet not a soul around other than the two of you. It's like two lovers taking a stroll in the big city ~ I love it!!! -
Bobbi's Wedding 6/28/08- A few pics for now
MarieSam replied to bobbi-francis's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Wow you're a beautiful bride!!! You guys are such a cute couple and I love the yellow ~ it made everything so bright and happy ~ a color I will be using as well =) Your dress was fabulous, CONGRATS and many blessings for a lifetime of happiness together -
Well I'm glad I'm not the only one ~ FI has been driving me FREAKING NUTS!!! Now let me preface this by saying, FI was the guy who initially said "just give me the date and time and I'm there baby." Nice, so I thought I had a green light to plan all the wedding details and just keep him updated from time to time. NOPE!!! Turns out this dude has an opinion on every damn thing. Even the colors, bridesmaids dresses and logo for our wedding. WTF isn't that shit only us girls care about ~ please somebody take a pencil and stab me in the neck. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm glad he cares and actually gives a f*$K, but sometimes I feel like I go out and do all the legwork (researching, making phone calls, sending out emails, etc.) and then it utimately goes to him to decide whether it gets past the chopping board and if not then I'm back at square one. Sorry, had to vent. Damn, that felt good

NBA Corporate Office or Boston Celtics Connections

All I need is to get them in front of someone. Thanks!!! Hey my fellow NBA friend ~ I used to have the NBA organization directory but I think I left it at my last job .....But I actually have a good friend who has access to contacts/phone numbers at the Celtics. I will give him a call tomorrow and see what he comes up with, he should be able to at least lead you in the right direction. PM me if you don't hear from me by Wednesday ~ that just means I've been bombarded with work and wedding planning and it slipped my mind. -
hahaha, those are great!! I love that, thanks for sharing.

I love it and have been looking at so many different options. Me and FI just got back from 10 days in the Riviera Maya, and I absolutely LOVE the Akumal area. It's so beautiful there but without the touristy feel and big party crowds. It's like a little oasis of beauty and I can't wait to go back next year for the wedding!! Your pics make me wish the big day would come sooner =)

I can't tell you what page it is on, because I have my page settings set to show me 30 posts per thread before it goes to a new page and some people have it set to only 10....dos that make sense? ha! Hey Martha! No I'm not a GBP bride, I'm actually having a non-resort wedding and getting married on Akumal Bay at Las Casitas Beach and having the reception catered at the CEA Center. BUT, I did find the post you were talking about (with a little patience and searching hehehe) and the Mayan Ceremony description at GBP does sound like similar to what was explained to me with the shaman overseeing the event. Also the tributes to the different aspects of nature, us having to pick different people to have roles in the ceremony (for example our fathers for "protection", mothers for "guidance", etc.). And apparently all the guests have instruments (things that make noise like drums, maracas) that they will play periodically and at the end? So it's very interactive and then we do our own vows, exchange rings and there's even a part where the anyone can speak and give a blessing to us during the ceremony ~ apparently a time when a lot of tears are shed. So my coordinator says it is extremely spiritual, and very family oriented...and because family means so much to FI and I, I am pretty intrigued by the whole idea......

Well like many other Catholic brides, I have always wanted the "on the beach" wedding but because of the church's rules, having a Catholic ceremony on the beach is not going to happen. So my parents are considering flying down a priest who is friend of the family to at least bless our union. Now, during our site visit to Akumal about a week ago, our coordinator asked us to consider a Mayan ceremony because it offers a very spiritual experience for everyone involved. I saw some pics of Mayan ceremonies and at first it all seemed kind of "too foreign" and different for me, but after getting an explanation of what actually happens I'm actually intrigued and considering it. While my parents are all for it because of the spiritual aspect, I just don't want FI's family and friends to think it's ....weird (for lack of a better word. Sorry, if I offended anyone!) Does anyone have info or insight on the Mayan ceremony? Or, have actually had one or attended one? If so, what is it like? Thanks in advance!!!
