Ok well not a total DIY project, but before I went on a tour through Europe last summer I found these fabulous FREE printout pocketguides in every language imaginable online. You print them out on regular sized paper (quality of your choice), do some minimal cutting and then fold them into small guides that you can give to every guests. I will surely be putting Spanish guides in my OOT bags for my DW in Mexico. They are super cute also and have all the necessary phrases!!! It's a great alternative to purchasing mini dictionaries. Here's the link and a pic outta my photobook of what the final product looks like!! single-serving.com phrase guides

Ok I'm having a hard time believing this one but it was reported in the Telegraph newspaper in the UK a couple days ago. What do you ladies think? I just can't imagine not noticing a freaking bat snuggled up against your boob!!!! Teenager finds baby bat in her bra By Laura Clout Last updated: 1:47 PM BST 08/07/2008 A teenager was stunned to find that a baby bat had been curled up inside her bra for five hours - as she was wearing it. Abbie Hawkins, a hotel receptionist, thought her mobile phone was ringing when she felt vibrations coming from her clothes. But she later discovered the tiny creature tucked away in the padded pocket of her underwear. As staff and colleagues crowded around, Miss Hawkins, 19, produced the frightened bat, which was the size of her hand. She said: "Once I realised it was a bat I was shocked, but then I felt quite sorry for it really. "It looked very snug in there and I thought how mean I was for disturbing it." Miss Hawkins said she got dressed at 7.30am and arrived for work at the Holiday Inn Norwich North, near Norwich International Airport without noticing anything unusual. "When I was driving to work I felt a slight vibration but I thought it was just my mobile phone in my jacket pocket," she said. It was not until her lunch break, at midday when she felt a strange movement inside her bra, which had been hanging on her washing line the previous night. "I plucked up the courage to investigate and I pulled out a little baby bat. I just lost my breath when I saw it and I did not know what it was at first," she said. The teenager's general manager freed the bat in the hotel garden. "I keep thinking how could I have not known it was there?" Miss Hawkins said. "I will certainly be checking my bras every morning from now on." Jaime Eastham, of the Bat Conservation Trust, said they had never heard of a bat being found in a bra before. But she said the animals roost anywhere that appears dark and safe.

Antonia, first off your pictures are amazing!! You and your husband make such a beautiful couple and its so easy to see how joyous you both were on your special day ~ congrats!! I am also a Filipina bride so looking at your pictures totally resonates with me - seeing the men with barongs (spelling?) on and all the Philippine made dresses ~ its wonderful!! And of course it seems like with all Filipino families, we really know how to enjoy a party I wanted to ask you...where did you get your wedding dress and your bridesmaids dresses, including your maid of honor's which I noticed was a little different? They are all really beautiful and look perfect for a beach atmosphere. And, where did you get those wonderful little lanterns? I love the idea of doubling up candlelight with place cards!! Congrats again and many blessings for a lifetime of happiness together

I actually am having my wedding in Akumal next June, we just did a site visit about 3 weeks ago. We are having a non-resort wedding that includes having our ceremony on Las Casitas Beach or the Cannon site (we haven't decided yet) and then our reception inside the CEA Center catered and coordinated by Turtle Bay Cafe. TBC's owner is also my wedding coordinator and she's fantastic!! It is a great option if you're looking for something private with a non-resort feel. The CEA Center is quite rustic but pretty beautiful once decorated for weddings, it's really quite amazing! I have TONS of pics from our trip of the location, let me know if you want to see them and I can post here or email them to you P.S. ~ Turtle Bay Cafe's food was excellent, which was a major decision in choosing the location!!! -
Where?
MarieSam replied to debbie421's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Debbie have you considered Akumal, which is a lovely town about 15 minutes from Tulum? Akumal is probably one of the few places on the Riviera Maya that has been able to avoid the AI/Touristy feel but has spectacular beaches for snorkeling and swimming. There are also TONS of condos, villas, small hotels and one small AI in the area spread out over about 3 bays and a exquisite lagoon. But the coastline of all three bays streches about 1.5 miles give or take long. The one thing though is it is a sleepy little town so the nightlife shuts down about 10ish!! I myself am having a non-resort wedding on the beach, renting out a center on the beach and having it catered (delicious food by the way). During that same week our immediate families are renting a "compound" consisting of a villa and 4 townhomes (all will house about 30 people) and they each have direct access to the lagoon and their own pools (4 on roofs!!). The guests will be booking at either hotels or condos nearby. Let me know if you're interested, we just visited the area about 3 weeks ago and I have TONS of fabulous pictures =) -

Blissweddingmarket.com has all different sizes of Raffia fans but they are out until September!! I think the fan thing has become a favorite for brides all over.......So I don't know how soon you need em But they do have bamboo fans in stock, which are similar but have a different handle.

Lots of healthy coral, rays, sea turtles, fish galore and lots more. I can fill you in on the specifics and all that if you need it. Just PM me. Hey Lambert ~ well I'm glad to hear that you've heard good things about Yal Ku. FI and I, and both our families were thinking of renting villas that have direct access to Yal Ku during our wedding week next year. So hearing your insight makes me excited for our plans! We actually snorkeled in Akumal bay about 3 weeks ago during our site visit and again in 2005 for the first time. And you're right, the marine life at the main bay is spectacular! We even got to swim side by side with the turtles it was so awesome And what I like best is that you don't even have to swim far out to see everything!!

I echo everyone's sentiments that it is totally absurd that your nutrionist would say something like that to you. Coming from a family of nurses and health care professionals, and FI's lineage of doctors and surgeons, I have heard so many good things about what organ donation can do for individuals in need and how it helps medical research in general. Now the one thing that I did hear from my uncle ex-wife who is an ER nurse, is that the process of taking a deceased person's organs can be pretty rash and brutal. She said the organs are removed quickly and the person's body is pretty much laying there like it had just been attacked by vultures. But I can understand that it's a rushed process because I can't imagine that you can take your time to preserve organs. Nevertheless, if I'm dead then why the heck do I need my organs anyways? I'd feel much better knowing my "parts" are possibly saving the life of someone in need.

That's double our entire wedding budget!!

Yes, the cost for this wedding website is about $500 for a year of hosting at weddingorg.com!! FI's cousin used this site for his wedding in D.C. last year and I just learned today how much it cost him ~ WOW. Now, I absolutely LOVE his website. It's very professional and has a really good layout but wow $500 is a lot. Check his site out ~ One thing I really do LOVE though are their Engagement photos in DC (spectacular backdrop) and I ADORE "The Trailer" section on his site. I think it's a beautiful documentation and am going to try to do one for FI and on good ol' weddingwindow.com of I can =) ($89/year woot, woot!!) Here's the link to their site: Install Flash Player
