After burning the crap outta my hair with those cheap drugstore brand flat irons , I finally invested in a great flat iron about 4 years ago. I did a bunch of research and found that the best fit for me was the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Iron ~ which is a combination of ceramic and tourmaline technology. It has been a Godsend for bad hair days and has kept my hair healthy and damage-free for all these years! Here's the link on where I purchased it, although I've also seen it at ULTA stores and with one of their 20% coupons, that's an awesome deal!!! Sedu Flat Iron

I'm thinking that I may be able to pull of not needing a wedding coordinator, but don't know how to contact Charlie and Maria directly. Any information you or anyone else might have will be most appreciated!!!! Hi April! Well, we are actually dealing with a wedding coordinator in Akumal who uses Charlie and Maria for a majority of the weddings. I can certainly ask her if she has a contact number for Charlie and Maria, and let you know what she says. Where are you having your ceremony and reception? If you are able to handle everything without the help of a coordinator, then that's fantastic and helps out with costs so much!! I have a friend (who also didn't have a WC) have a close friend, who wasn't in the wedding party, help her out by acting as the WC the day of. Are you having someone do this for you too? It's def. a good idea so you won't have to stress about anything ~ it's your day and instead you can just plan on looking beautiful and soaking in every moment By the way I LOVE your dress in your siggy pic, it's gorgeous ~

Some good friends of ours who are a couple came to us a few weeks later to tell us they were so much more in love with each other after our wedding, a wonderful compliment. Here are the photos: htttp://www.delsolphotography.com/weddings/paul&rachel Because we film weddings we've seen both the Cosmic and the Mayan ceremonies. The Mayan ceremonies are cool but sometimes a little hard to relate to. The Cosmic Ceremony is easier to connect to. Don't be put off by the silly name. I am so excited to hear and see how wonderful your wedding ceremony was ~ your pics by the way are beautiful!! Charlie and Maria are actually performing our Cosmic wedding ceremony next June in Akumal. We were hesitant at first out of fear that our guests would be expecting something more traditional and find it too strange, but our wedding coordinator explained to us how family-oriented, touching and spiritual the ceremony can be. It's also great that we will be able to incorporate the local culture and traditions, while still doing the regular procession entry and exchange vows at the end of the ceremony ~ I am so looking forward to the whole experience!!

Poll: Sell or Wear?
MarieSam replied to divadivine25's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I say keep it! That dress is absolutely fabulous, you would look beautiful no matter where you wore it. And if it's the dress that you love, then it's the one for you! Barring of course any major concerns like comfort ~ is it too hot to wear at your wed site? My vote is for keep it and wear the hell out of it, the dress is gorgeous!!! -
I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for close to about 10 years now. In fact I just got them done last week! Generally I try to get them threaded about once a month or until I start looking like Oscar the Grouch, tee hee. Threading is great, the look is so clean and even after all these years I'm still in awe as to how precise it is. The first time I got em done it hurt a little just because I didn't know what to expect. But after one session you should be good to go. It's a very popular method where I live (Cerritos, Cali), which is close to a strip that features mostly Indian retailers and restaurants. Great eyebrows for $5.99, hey you can't beat that!!!

Amy and Hanssel's Non-Pro Pics
MarieSam replied to amyh's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
Congrats Amy ~ everything looked amazing and you're such a beautiful bride. You didn't just have a wedding it looked like an extravaganza!! That is so cool that you had so many people travel to be a part of the celebration, it looked like such a good time. And I LOVE the white board photos, def. something I'm going to try and do at my own reception. I hope they turn out as fun as yours did By the way did you have some sort of "instructions sheet" to go with the white board photos?? And if so, what did it say?? -
Amy your teaser pics are gorgeous, can't wait to see the rest!! And I absolutely adore the white board idea, how original and fun I def. am going to keep that one in mind!! Congrats to you both ~ glad to hear the weather and little mishaps didn't ruin your day. You're married to the man you love and I wish you many blessings for a lifetime of happines together

RM Non couple oriented AI needed?
MarieSam replied to Alyssa's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
Hmmm...ok on the Riviera Maya, I've stayed at the Mayan Palace and the Grand Mayan which share the same grounds - both are not all inclusive. The Grand Mayan is the more modern of the two, but both extremely nice accommodations with kitchens. I can email pics if your friend wants some sort of visual reference. Massive resort, almost like a city in itself with its own medical clinic, HUGE 24-hour pools (about 20). And not a whole lotta wedding or couples activity going on, your girls would have a blast. Another great option is anywhere in Playa del Carmen because they will have close access to Avenue 5 - the boardwalk of shops, restaurants and bars and a fabulous beach ~ a great place to spend late afternoons and evenings with friends. Tons of singles here too!! Another great way to go is by staying at condos or villas. Akumal is a nice little town that is so beautiful, you'll pretty much forget all your troubles there. Fantastic snorkeling and swimming. But everything shuts down about 10ish, more so a daytime town. But the waters and laid-back feel here is unmatched in my opinion. TONS of pics of these places too Best way to get a feel for what the non all-inclusive options are on locogringo.com , a site that caters to the Riveria Maya. Hope this helps out your friend!! A visit to the RM is def a great way to clear her mind -

Advice on Villas!
MarieSam replied to Maegan606's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
It's a website that charts all types of accomodations in the Cancun/Riviera Maya, including villas, condos, hotels, bungalows, casitas, etc. Also has descriptions on what the villas include, photos, how many people it can accomodate, price list, pools, if it's on the beach, how far it's from the beach, etc. And you can make reservations right on the site! Hope this helps!! -
dress shopping issues

If you've got a small figure and a need something that has a good fit (lucky girl!!!), try a gown that has a corset because that will definitely fit you like a glove. Some of the best corseted gowns that I've seen are in the Maggie Sotero line. Check out her website she's got a collection made specifically for destination weddings and most are corseted! Good luck and no worries, you've got tons of time!!! -
Girl, you are def. on the ball and on top of your shit! I can't believe you put all this together so quickly, everything looks so freaking good What program did you use? I LOVE the layout, it looks so professional like albums the photographer would make, but everything is so much better because you've personalized it. You seriously need to flip your talents into a career, or at least a sideline gig, you're stuff always looks so nice! And, I echo the sentiment that looking at beautiful pictures never gets tiring, it just makes me more excited about my own wedding day!!

YAY, I'm so glad these guides will help so many of you! I totally forgot about these little treasures and when I remembered how handy and convenient they were, I realized they'd be perfect for our wedding guests because they contain all the necessary phrases needed to get by in a foreign country. I'm thrilled to be able to share it with all the lovely BDW ladies...and rare gents, of course!!

He being the amazing artist, was trying to be creative for the sake of our album Hope that answers your question?
