That is actually a circle punch, which allows you to easily punch out shapes and sizes ~ and you can purchase one of those at any craft store! It's usually found in the scrapbooking section. I actually bought mine at orientaltrading.com in a set of 3 shapes that costs about $25. Makes life so much easier instead of having to cut things out one by one with scissors
  3. What a BIATCH! Instantly I'm saying break open a can of bridezilla whoop ass on her and put her in her place. Who the hell does something like that? How obvious is it that she's trying to cause drama? I mean really ~ how old is this chick? She's not much on doing things incognito is she? Hmmmm...now being a logical and rational person, I'd say ignore her let her waste her money trying to cause problems. She's doing fine making herself look like a dumb ass. But the bride in me that believes that things should be perfect on your special day, says kick her ass ~
  4. I'm so excited, this is my first contribution to the DIY forum So I wanted to make logo stickers for various things, but first as circular seals to my STD envelopes . . . I initially used a glossy sticker paper but the colors would just get thrown off, so opted for full-sheet sticker paper with a matte finish ~ the color turned out much better! Sticker paper was $9.99 for 30 sheets at Staples: Making a template on Word, I inserted my logo into each box and was able to fit 20 stickers on each sheet. The sticker is a little over 1 inch. I've attached the format with my logo as a sample in box #1. Haven't ever figured out how to set a table to where the cell size is locked ~ So FYI things will shift if you change the size of the logo, so do a test print on regular paper first .... After printing the labels, it's time to punch them out! Just flip your punch over so you can really make sure you're cutting exactly around the margins of your sticker. Then you just keep going row by row, cutting away the excess. And before you know it, voila, you've got great DIY seals/stickers!!! Super easy and cheap to make I totally plan on doing different sizes for several DIY wedding items and projects! Here's the final product ~ Hope this post can help some of you out! 5. I LOVE these tips! Maybe printing them out on some type of card that is beautifully decorated and giving them to your bridal party, or even as a small gift to all those who attend your bridal shower ~ I would be thrilled to receive something so original and helpful like this

  7. Jen at Turtle Bay Cafe is both my coordinator and caterer!! They make wonderful cakes ~ real buttercream frosting not whipped like most bakeries in the area because their butter is imported!! Their tres leches cake is delish, not wet like it's usually made. They also make ice cream cakes if anyone is interested in that. Another alternative to small cakes is cupcakes, which is what Jen is doing for our wedding ~ a small cake for FI and I to cut and then 120 cupcakes of a variety of different flavors on a tree stand!!

Somehow I think Nicole and Ron are smiling down from above tonight. 13 years later, but at least he'll serve some time. Although I must say, the way he is viewed and treated everywhere he goes, he may be better off living behind bars.....
  9. Oh Indigo, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I cannot even imagine how heavy your heart must be right now, but do know that my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. I know that finding the strength to continue planning your wedding must be so difficult, but take time to grieve and step back from the planning process. No one can blame you for not being in a celebratory mood, but I think that your sister would have wanted you to move forward and celebrate your wedding. Something joyous for your family to look forward to can be a great source of healing for all of you. But try take it one day at a time, and like all the others have said, ultimately the decision is in your hands. My heart goes out to you ~ stay strong
  10. So 13 hours into deliberations and exactly 13 years to the day that he was acquitted of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, OJ Simpson was found guilty tonight in a Nevada court on 12 counts. The timing is so crazy, and apparently he will serve a prison term of 5 years to life for these charges, the most severe being robbery and kidnapping. What do you guys think? Justice delayed but finally served, or did the former Heisman Trophy winner get a raw deal

What is everybody else paying for entertainment? People keep telling me that we are getting taken advantage of because we are foreigners. Is anybody else experiencing the same problems/frustrations? Yowzers those prices are high at least compared to the quotes I received from my wedding coordinator. Although I am getting married in Akumal (Riviera Maya/Cancun area), which of course is no where near Playa Careyes, my WC quoted me the following for entertainment during my June 09wedding: Live band (latin/african fusion types) for two to three, 45-minute sets - $1000 to $1,500 DJ - $450 for 4 hours, $50 each additional hour Solo guitarist - $150 to $250 per hour Mariachi - $350 to $400 per hour Guitar Trio - $300 per hour Never been to the Playa Careyes area, is it a huge resort town? It looks beautiful from pics though! But sometimes entertainment in the smaller areas can be more expensive because there are not a lot of options, so they know they can charge you an arm and a leg. But if your resort allows outside vendors, I'd definitely check around ~ Good luck!!!
  12. Happy Legal Day Yari ~ best wishes for a wonderful and special day for you two!! Make sure to take some pics to share later
  13. I am proud to say that I met my fiance in an AOL chatroom in 1999!! After we met online, we chatted every now and then, but he would mostly work my last nerve, lol. Then I changed my screename, and ironically he did too, so we lost contact. But about a month later, fate allowed us to meet up again in another AOL chatroom The internet instant messages continued with several heated sports discussions involved, hehe. And, after spending about 4 months talking online, we finally began talking on the phone and eventually met in person. The day after our first in-person meeting, I left to Cancun for a family vacation. It was my first time in Cancun and while I had a blast, I could not stop thinking about the boy known as WuJuniorX. When I returned, we met up again and watched the South Park movie together ~ yes so totally unromantic but we could not stop laughing and had the best time. That night, he finally kissed me and I have been kissing those wonderful lips ever since Our wedding on June 26, 2009, will mark the 10th year anniversary of our first date in person and to make it even more special, we will be getting married in Akumal, which is just 90 minutes from Cancun. My life has truly come full circle, and I can't imagine my life without my wonderful DH. Love works in such funny ways, and for the rest of my days I will always be grateful to the AOL chatrooms that brought love my way . . .
  14. Everything is gorgeous and you are going to make one stunning bride!! I LOVE all your invites, and the color scheme is going to look fabulous with the Mexico backdrop. While I've got my fingers crossed for you that the whole DT drama will work itself out, regardless of where your special day ends up happening, I'm sure it will be a truly wonderful and beautiful experience for you and DH and all of your guests!!! Can't wait to see all your pics when you return!!!!

  16. Hey gals, I am having my wedding in Akumal, Mexico and when going over music options my wedding coordinator suggested a local group called Bandikoro. They're a african/latin fusion band with great sound and style (there are 9 of them total so it's a huge ensemble). She had us listen to a cd of theirs while we were having our food tasting, and apparently they use really interesting instruments and get the crowd pumped up while weaving their way through tables and performing. I believe pricing was about $1,000 for two to three 45-minute sets. Here's a link to their Myspace page which has some of their tracks: MySpace.com - Bandikoro - Tulum, MX - Afro-beat / Latin / Reggae - www.myspace.com/bandikoro

I've seen some other BDW users talking so highly about Sharon's flowers and I loved her designs, but now I just wanna know who was actually a legit customer or not.
  22. Holy crap! This is the company I was going to use based on what other brides have said on this forum
  23. I LOVE it!!! So how much was this wonderful creation? I may get one done myself!
