  1. WOW what a fabulous offer, and your own hairstylist? It's a girl's dream ~ Can't wait to see all the responses
  2. Hmmm considering how many brides in the past have brought their own photog without any problem I would initially say But maybe there is actually a rule, and it just goes ignored and is repeatedly broken? Perhaps some of the Mexico based vendors or locals can chime in
  3. Just wanted to share some turtle pics while swimming and snorkeling during our day at Akumal Bay in 2006. This little guy was literally about 40 feet out from shore. There were tons of snorkel groups out there that paid big bucks and were wearing their high tech equipment to find the turtles, and my little 5-foot aunt found this amazing creature without any kind of mask on. My brother then paparrazied the poor thing with his digital cam, lol. I think because they’re so used to having people around, they’re not scared at all and will actually swim very close to you. So don’t bother paying to have a snorkel guide take you out, it’s so easy to find em on your own!!! If you’re ever in the area and decide to take a dip, they tend to stay where there’s a little bit of sea grass on the bottom just in front but a little to the left of Lo Ha restaurant ~ and yes they are absolutely beautiful!!! And if you swim about 100 to 150 feet out there’s an amazing line of reefs with tons of colorful coral and marinelife. Such a beautiful place *sigh*
  4. Simply wonderful Elizabeth ~ the quality and beauty of your work never fails to amaze me!!!
  5. Really? Again? A while back I listened to some celebrity psychologist say that Angelina had a borderline fixation/obsession with having kids. That it was almost an addiction for her, something that filled a void in her life ~ she even compared it to a shopping addiction. Well I scoffed at the notion, thinking this woman is a hater and that it was great that Angelina was ssssoooo family oriented. But if this STAR magazine article is true, I'm beginning to think maybe that lady was on to something ... Maybe they're trying to make enough kids to create their own society and take over the world? http://www.starmagazine.com/angelina...ain/news/14954
  6. Oooh Kelly they look great, I LOVE how vibrant the color is!! Are you planning on decorating the boxes with anything?? I totally forgot to take pics of mine, but I need to go find my camera first .... PS ~ I'm working on responding to your PM
  7. You look beyond fabulous, and WOW 40 pounds ~ you're my new idol, I am so lagging on the whole wedding diet and exercise thing!! Your honey is gonna flip when he sees these, you look gorgeous!!!

Stephanie Williams Photography Blog ~ another gorgeous set! Sorry to On a side note Morgan ~ your photos are looking good!! I especially LOVE the Thanksgiving pics with all the super cute kiddies ~ and your alphabet search, too cool!!! I'll keep my eyes open for the letters you're still looking for
  9. Hehehe all you gals crack me up, and THANK GOD I'm not the only one who seems to be enticed by these late night infomercials filled with bad acting. Hmm so consensus seems to be that the Shamwow is a worthy product ~ oooh I'm gonna try and see if FI will invest in a set for us. With my once wonderful shopping budget now all going toward the wedding I'm starting to live by the new montra ~ If I can't wear it, I aint buying it, lol. I swear we have an elf living in a secret room that's using my thighmaster, using makeup from this makeup bag I lost earlier this year, has about 3 TV remotes, and is sporting a black leather jacket and the right foot to a pair of bamboo sandals I lost years ago. 10. Well girl you've certainly got a good list going of all the WCs in the area. I've heard tons of good stuff about all on your list If you look through the Cancun/RM section under vendors I'm sure you'll find some great insight from brides who have retained their services. As far as hair and makeup ~ I'm working on that one. But as soon as I get something solid, I'll share what I come up with!!!! For a cake vendor ~ I'll throw my bakery in the hat "Turtle Bay Cafe" heheh, lately I feel like the TBC pimp Anyhow, aside from providing the cake/cupcakes, TBC is also catering my wedding and the restaurant's owner is my wedding coordinator. They are making a small cake for us (for picture cutting purposes) and then making about 100+ cupcakes of all different flavors for our guests. They make any flavor imaginable, including tres leches, lemon, chocolate, carrot cake, white, yellow, etc. And can also do pudding, creme or fruit fillings. And TBC's owner Jen says they can decorate cakes or cupcakes with anything -- flowers, ribbon, candles, etc. I've heard nothing but rave reviews about their cakes, and also tasted their tres leches cupcakes in June during our site visit and it was yummy!! Best of all their prices are really reasonable and Jen is great to work with. Here's a pic of a cupcake tower that TBC did for one of their clients earlier this year. I think we will be doing something similar but with gold cupcake wrappers:

Sorry, I'm always pushin good eats Where ever it is you decide to have your wedding, the Cancun/RM area is so beautiful your wedding will be a spectacular event your guests will never forget. Go with whatever "feels right" and take it from there, the rest is a thrill ride so soak in every moment! Keep us posted on how things turn out On a sidenote I am super jealous you will soon be in the glorious surroundings of Mexico. *sigh* nothing sounds better right now than laying on the sunkissed beaches with a margarita in my hand... Happy travels girlie, be safe and ENJOY!!!!
  12. I am so relieved to hear that things worked out Amy! And from what it seems, it was all for the best The dresses you ended up with are super cute and I am always excited for anyone who gets a fabulous discount. $97.50 is no joke, hehehe. Make sure to let us know how things turn out once the dress arrives next week ~ again YAY!!!! Another hurdle outta the way

So glad you saw the similarities too I'll let her know you'll be contacting her ~ I know she LOVES doing DW weddings. We're taking her to our 6/26/09 wedding in Akumal, Mexico and she'll be covering our Welcome Fiesta, entire wedding day, and doing a TTD session with us. We're also taking engagement pics in early 2009, so I'll post once I get em back. Her past clients have had nothing but great things to say and her second shooter is her husband, so they make an awesome team!! Good luck and I hope it all works out
  14. Great review, I'm sure your honesty on each aspect of your wedding experience will be so helpful for future brides. Although things were not perfect, everything looked beautiful, you of course included Congrats on being a Mrs. and can't wait to see more pics!!!!
  15. Late Sunday night I inexplicably ended up watching two informercials in a row ~ ok truthfully I just didn't feel getting off my ass to find my remote . Anyhow, I became totally immersed in the overly excited sales pitch, was in awe of these two products and so close to buying stuff I totally don't "need" and woulda been out about $230 ~ yikes!! But thankfully I googled the product reviews, read the hype, and kept myself from getting suckered into calling and ordering "IN THE NEXT 19 MINUTES!!!" So out of curiosity, after watching an infomercial....... 1) What great product(s) have you bought? 2) What horrible product(s) have you bought? 3) What product(s) are you tempted to buy, but just not sure it's worth it? I'll go first . . . . 1) The Suzanne Sommers' Thigh Master ~ I had great thighs for about a month then I lost the damn thing, hehehe. 2) A terrible ceramic flat iron that left me with nappy hair and split ends everytime I used it. 3) Some of the products I saw on Sunday night ~ has anyone bought these?: - the "Shamwow" -- good lord it cleans up everything!!! - the "Kodak ESP-7 All-in-one printer" -- I hate getting gouged by printer ink prices!! - oh yeah and this makeup airbrush system -- the girls look so pretty after using it, but I have a funny feeling I'd end up looking like a fool if I tried

I'm curious about the pink ones ~ they look like a great color, reminds me of boxes full of yummy good straight outta the bakery
  17. Hmmm...the cheapest place I've ever seen water shoes is at either Walmart or Target ~ are any of those in Canada? During the late spring/summer season, they generally run from $4 to $6 a pair. During a good sale, I've seen em as low as 2 for $5. In some after-summer sales you can find em as low as $2 a piece. Don't know if this helps you any? Haven't really seen em for as cheap online. How many pairs do you need? That would be a terrific OOT bag gift that I'm sure your guests would love
  18. Noticed there were some members looking for Spanish guides lately so I decided to this for the newbies and all the other brides and grooms searching for a cheap but very cute alternative to Spanish books/guides (or other foreign languages) for your wedding guests!!!! Hope this can help some of you out in trying to save some $$$
  19. Nicole everything looks great, and those spa wraps are super cute!!! I've been in correspondence with Joy and you're right she's an awesome vendor and so kind and helpful. I LOVE the "mint to be" packet ~ I think I will have to steal that for my OOT bags, hehehe. Your guests are gonna love the thought you put into this gift box!! ~
  20. I just saw a clip of him saying something at a presser just yesterday (I believe outside of Wrigley Field) to the gist of "everything I say and do is lawful and appropriate" ~ I think he was talking about the Cubs ordeal, but it still made me laugh considering the deep sh#t he's in today. If the allegations are true, this dude is an idiot on so many levels
  21. Beautiful choice, and I can see why you're a little weary that price is unreal!!! Getting an opinion from a past buyer is probably a good idea, but if you can't get one -- the good thing is that there a return policy, so maybe ordering it and checking out the quality once it arrives is an option?
  22. So many beautiful pics ~ congrats on what looks like was an amazing day for you both!!! Everything tied in so well together, and I LOVE the use of the sombreros, your FGs by the way are freaking adorable. And it goes without saying that you were a gorgeous bride!!!
  23. One more option is to check the bridesmaids dress section on Nordstrom: Designer Collections and Top Apparel, Shoe and Beauty Brands . They have a lot of really cute options and usually lots of sizes from XS to XL to plus size, and best of all right now shipping is free for orders over $100 (I think) and in the past my orders have always arrived in about 5 business days, you can also request rush shipment. Order a bunch of stuff and if she doesn't like it, they can always be taken back to the actual store at anytime or shipped back, there's no time limit.
  24. Yikes ~ girl I am so sorry you're going through more stress than you need to be at this point in the planning process. Can you possibly accompany her on a dress hunt? Sounds like this BM may need some reassurance when trying on stuff since she doesn't seem to like anything. take a deep breath, everything will work itself out*
