  1. Sorry...I'm a little confused ~ what does she mean when she says "she's gonna wait until Jamaica?" Wait for Jamaica, for what -- to get married, announce her engagement? ** If she's trying to get married the same time as you, then I think its totally disrespectful. That is time that you and your FI have chosen to focus on the celebration of your union and if that what she intends then you have EVERY right to be pissed!
  2. Ok forgive me if this question is on the dumb side ~ but FI asked me this past weekend if we were exchanging rings at the legal ceremony before we leave for Mexico. And I was like.... (crickets chirping in dead silence) We are planning on getting legally married at the courthouse a couple days before we leave for our symbolic ceremony in front of family and friends in Mexico. We won't actually think of ourselves as being married until our wedding day ~ but what happens during the legal ceremony? Do you have to exchange rings? What's the process? And is it a quick and dirty, bang bang, you're outta there type of deal??
  3. I initially thought of doing the same thing ~ somewhat symbolic of a Dove release. But when I spoke to my wedding coordinator and did some research, I've been told and read the same thing -- not a good idea. 1) The butterflies are put into envelopes and kind of expected to fly out on key -- many end up dying inside the envelope or are lethargic and barely move 2) The butterflies that fly off are then often attacked by birds -- seems that would be pretty horrific instead of being something beautiful. It also seems pretty pricey for something that rarely seems to work out well ~ I would save your money and invest it in something else Just my two cents!
  4. Yep, I've been victim to the crappy International Service Fee many times before in Mexico and throughout Europe. It's something you definitely gotta ask your credit card company about before you travel abroad, I think the charges vary depending on your card provider.
  5. You're right that pic is spectacular ~ great timing on the photogs part ~ I don't think I've seen a TTD pic like that one before!!!
  6. Ok so how freaking gorgeous are you?? Girl, you looked fabulous, and your dress is to die for ~ I LOVE the sexiness of the back and elegance of the bottom layers!!!! It seems like you had such a fun group, the mustaches and speedos, hehehe. And I LOVE your BMs tactics to make you stop getting teary-eyed ~ ya gotta love the creativity I definitely wanna see more pics, and yes please share your video if you can!!! Congrats on what looked like a day of bliss and many blessings for lifelong joy and happiness!!!!

But I've got his personal number so if you continue to have trouble, let me know and I'll call him myself to get the ball rolling and have him contact you!

I know that shuttle options are out there (however one shuttle company thought that it might be a tight fit for 12 of us including my dress ), I was curious if anyone had heard of anything else? I would ideally just need it for a drop off from Hyatt to Fiesta Americana Condesa around 8 and then a pick-up around 12:30 or so. Does anyone have any recommendations? I can't find much info on this so any help would be great, thanks!! If you're still looking for options ~ Sauce Vacations is another great alternative!! We met the owner of the company back in June 2006, and he took such good care of our group of 20+, he has since become a great family friend and came to visit us/America for the first time in November He's got first-class vans (up to 14 people, TVs with music videos inside to get the party started!!! And buses for large groups up to 50 people). He can be reached here: Travel and Tours Experts ¡¡ . If you inquire about his services, let him know MarieSam sent you!!! Hope that helps!!!

Not sure if this is the exact dress, but I think she's wearing David's Bridal --dress BR1027 here's the direct link to it: David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns BR1027 Tea Length Dress with Pleated Chiffon Tank and Crisscross Tie Back It is a beautiful dress, and at a great price at that!!!
  14. WOW ~ truly some of your finest work!!! What an amazing location, and this couple just naturally glows with love ~ St. Lucia definitely is now on my To Do List!!!!
  15. It's fabulous! Very tropical and I love how the colors pop I say go for it!!!
  16. Hey Desiree ~ I noticed that dress when the new collection came out too!! It's beautiful If you can find it and try it on in a local bridal shop, then you can actually order it at Bestbridalprices.com -- here's the direct link: Loading... It's a helluva lot cheaper than it usually retails ~ on the site it's $789 and that includes shipping! I think some other brides on here have actually purchased through that site so I know it's legitimate I've actually got 3 Maggie dresses I'm planning on trying on, and if I like any of them, I will be ordering through that site because it gives me tons of savings I actually think they have a special right now where they'll give you a veil and shoes for free too!!! Hope that helps!!
  17. Wow what an awesome Mom ~ and yes that is quite a trek. YAY for wonderful moms all over!!! And happy travels to you and your fam on the site visit ~ I'm sure you will have a great time
  18. I confess that although I am a journalist and am paid to be profoundly eloquent and a master at the written word, I curse like a sailor ~ so bad in fact that my mouth warrants a good washing with a good ol' Dove bar, then some BBW anti-bacterial soap only to be done 3 times over. Yes I curse just that much, and it doesn't help that my Editor is an old French dude who worked as a war reporter ~ so his late night cursing rants only get me started and I've added some very colorful phrases to my vocab. *sigh* and to top it off I have a 13-year-old daughter who has grown up thinking "get outta the way you stupid b$#tch ass driver" or "don't you f$#king see me?" is normal speak when your driving. Ok I feel better....kinda.

I thinnk I found a simple bejeweled sandal for myself that won't get stuck in the sand as I walk down the aisle from 6pm and would look nice with my dress. Thanks for the tip - will try to duck into Kohl's by the weekend. So glad to have given you some options and ideas So did you end up getting the jeweled sandals and if so, which ones? And did you get the chance to check out Kohl's?

  21. Oh girl I'm so sorry this happened to you, and right before the holidays at that I had my car broken into in June, and the dumb ass stole some stuff for my OOT bags, a briefcase, a business suit, and other little things here and there. I was a mess at first but slowly came to realize that all those things can be replaced ~ yes, it's a pain because you have to spend money replacing those items, but as all the others have said thankfully you weren't hurt, and your little guy is ok. Many hugs my fellow June bride, cheer up we've got fabulous weddings to plan!!!
  22. You've definitely come to the right place!! I've been to Cabo several times and the beaches we make it a point to visit and are absolutely gorgeous are Chileno and Santa Maria Bay. Although both do not currently have resorts on them, I think they are building some type of "housing/hotel" near both -- at least that's what it seemed to be when I vacationed there in August 08. Other than those two, the main beach is Playa Medano and there are several resorts along that strip. The beach is swimmable on most days, although I wouldn't say it's the vision of clear, calm waters that you might see in say Cancun or other tropical areas. I personally LOVE the Cancun/Riviera Maya areas. Playa del Carmen, a town which is situated between Cancun and Tulum is a small scale version of Cancun and has wonderful beaches as well. There are tons of resorts in the area and several brides here that have chosen resorts along that strip with beautiful, swimmable beaches. I suggest looking through these forum sections and reviewing what brides have said about the beaches. That's a good way to rack up points too!! Another great site that will give you aerial images on what the beaches look like in the Riviera Maya areas is locogrino.com. Hope that helps!!! Best of luck
