  1. Thanks for all the compliments ladies ~ I truly hope my STD's can help some of you out Quote: Originally Posted by endlesslove great job! A final RSVP request will be sent with our official invitation early next year. Thank you! I am curious though, how much or what are you sending in the invites? Thanks for all the great ideas!! Thank you ~ we are actually planning on sending out passport invites. It will be pretty much a booklet that will have "the important stuff". They will of course include the important stuff ~ date, time, location of our welcome dinner, wedding ceremony, reception. Wedding attire suggestions. Any info on activities, a short list of essentials to bring on the trip (beach stuff) and what kind of weather to expect. Also probably a list of interesting facts about the area. Def. a reminder that a passport is needed and website to get passport info. And of course our wedding website ~ always a good idea to have your guests check out your website to get all the important stuff! *** I've saved some info and pics on great passport invites, if you wanna see em to get a visual of the info I will be including PM me!!! But to print the actual passes and pass holder we had to use a laser printer because the paper was just too thick or slick (the cardstock and metallic paper). There are some really affordable and quality laser printers if you're thinking of upgrading!

Hi Jen Well I've ordered from Nordstroms about 5 times, and generally the shipments came in about 4 to 8 days just standard shipping ~ honestly it was VERY fast. But I would say whenever my order included something from their bridal collection it took longer, and I think it's because it came from their..."headquarters/manufacturer" whereas the regular dresses would sometimes come from the closest store to me. But again either way it was super quick! If you see something you really like, I'd order it now to avoid having it get discontinued or sold out ~ that actually happened to a dress I really liked. So def. order it as soon as you can, plus you can always return it if it's not "the one"!!
  3. Thanks everyone for your insight! I am gonna find out more details about how things work in my area ~ it being L.A. I can't imagine it being a nice, laid-back process. I'm sure they get you in and out, so I don't think we'll even exchange rings if we don't have to, which is ok because then our DW will be even more meaningful
  4. Oy vey ~ I think I'll be singing the same tune when it's time for me to pack. You should see our bonus room full of wedding crap ~ it is an absolute disaster. My parents keep talking smack, telling me I have "overbought" tttssssk, which of course I roll my eyes at but then secretly agree with deep inside I will have to take a pic for you gals so you can see my monstrosity of a packing challenge ~ my next big problem is booking tix on an airline that allows 2 free bags each. So far Delta and United are my choices, but their high fares give me a headache

I think I might order a tester pair for FI too ~ we've got 9 groomsmen and the only thing bad about Dessy internet orders is that they don't accept returns ~ but I can live with ordering 1 if I don't like em, hehehe
  6. Yay Kelly everything looks beautiful, the cupcake boxes look awesome!!!! Lots of hugs and best wishes for safe travels and an absolutely awesome wedding extravaganza I CANNOT wait to see all your pics when you return ~ soak in every moment, enjoy the sunshine and remember we are all thinking of you
  7. I came across some men's flip flops off the Dessy website ~ don't know how they are quality-wise but they are a great price ~ $15 a pair!!! Might be worth checkin it out They also have super cute satin flip flops for brides/bridesmaids at great prices too!!! Flip Flops for the Groom & Groomsmen: The Dessy Group
  8. I personally haven't seen the wedding dresses in their stores ~ but being a Nordstroms.com addict , I can tell you that in the past 5 months I have literally ordered about 12 brides/bridesmaids or welcome dinner dresses online (my work schedule is so crazy I don't have time to go out and shop). Then I'd try them on at home and if I liked em I kept em, some I returned in store. Just last week I mailed about 4 dresses back to avoid the holiday crowds and it was only a $6 flat shipping fee that they automatically charge on the return label. There's no return date deadline, and when you order $200 or more it's free shipping. Can't beat that!!! Nordstroms return policy rocks so it was an easy way for me to shop with the convenience of trying things at home!!! Hope that helps!!! PS - The quality of their dresses is great from what I've ordered so far!!!!
  9. Hey Vintage Brides!!! Although I am not a VB, I noticed that my photographer recently did a vintage bridal fashion shoot ~ so here's the link and perhaps it will give you ladies some ideas or inspiration!!!! She also did a wedding with a little vintage style a few months ago, so I will include a link to that too fashion Stephanie Williams Photography Blog wedding and portrait photography blog Stephanie Williams Photography Blog Hope this helps ~ can't wait to see how all your special days turn out!!!!!!
  10. Oooh YAY, I was just admiring your kit labels in your other post!!! These are great and so freakin cute
  11. You look gorgeous Kerry ~ I think your makeup is perfect, it may feel too heavy in person but on pics it looks beautiful!!! And the hair ~ WOW!!!!
  12. Wow Kerry, they way you implemented your logo into everything is wonderful!!!! Your guests are gonna flip over these bags
  13. I'm so sorry for your loss, I can only imagine how heavy your heart must be right now. There have actually been many BDW members who have experienced great loss in their lives during the wedding planning process, and I think the recurring advice has been to take time to grieve. Whether that means taking a break from the planning process for a short or extended time ~ definitely take some time off. At the same time, cherish your friend's memory and celebrate her life. I know there is a sense of guilt in continuing to plan something so wonderful when you are amidst tragedy, but I think everyone will agree that our loved ones and friends -- whether they remain here with us on earth or in heaven above -- would ultimately want you to be happy. I honestly think your friend would want you to keep your head up and keep your heart filled with joy as you continue to plan your cherished wedding day* Keep smiling girlie, and again warm hugs
  14. FI got me the Canon SD790IS for my birthday in June and I LOVE it! It's got tons of features, which I have yet to totally discover, but the picture quality is top-notch!! The gals are right, Canon makes a great line of cams ~ you really can't go wrong
  15. Good Lord girl, your DIY projects always look so professional!!! These are awesome and I'm sure will be such a great resource for your guests ~ great job!!!!!
