  1. Oh my gosh, that is so incredibly wonderful and thoughtful!! And WOW they turned out great I think I would be so touched, I'd be a crying mess if one of my girlfriends made me something like that ~ what an awesome idea!!
  2. *sigh* those pics look like paradise and you were just beautiful!!!! Congrats!!
  3. I totally understand your reservations, I too am worried about the heat/sun but want to make sure there is enough light for great photographs! I also want my photographer to take advantage of what she calls "golden light" ~ apparently a period of time time before the sun sets. I posted this thread a while back ~ it includes a site that will give you weather and sunset comparisons in your area from years past. It's not fool proof, but can give you a general idea of what to expect on your special day!! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t30944
  4. I am having somewhat of an AHR ~ but moreso a party or bbq, hopefully it will also double up as a housewarming as FI and I are planning on buying a home a couple months before we leave for the wedding I think it is often misunderstood that an AHR has to be a glitzy, sit down, catered affair. For us, we see it as more as a celebration for those who either couldn't attend our Mexico wedding, or for those who just didn't make our very selective guest list. You can certainly make it a special party without spending big bucks, because essentially I think all those who will be there will simply be happy to celebrate with the newlyweds! Plus it's also a great time to share with everyone your fabulous wedding photos/videos!!!
  5. WOW ~ your photos are absolutely incredible and you made for a gorgeous bride!!! I have so many favorites, but yes the one with you guys peeking outta the water is classic I love Fer's style, it's so natural and he seems to have a great knack for capturing the special moments. He did an amazing job documenting what looks to have been been a magical event! PS ~ Is the cute little man you guys are carrying your son? OMG he is freakin adorable
  6. His work looks great ~ congrats!!! Can't wait to see what he does for your wedding

Or does anyone know what information needs to be included in the letter? I've had to do this each time I vacation with my daughter since her father and I broke up in 99. My letters have always gone a little something like this: I ______ (other parent's name), hereby authorize _______ (your name) to travel with our son/daughter _______(child's name, and date of birth) to and from ______ (location, include city and country) from the period of ____________ (dates). They will be staying at the _________ (hotel/resort name, address, phone number.) This authorization to travel with our child to _____ (location) shall be extended up to 30 days past the return date due to unforseen circumstances, including, but not limited to, flight cancellation, an emergency, an illness or a natural disaster, that prevents them from returning home within the scheduled time frame. * Then make sure it's signed by the other parent, and have them include their contact address and phone number. Lastly have it all notarized. Hope this helps!!!
  8. I think it really depends on how much notice you're giving your guests. STD's are certainly not a necessity, but I think many people send them out as a way to give people a "heads up" or a nice reminder, especially when the wedding is say...about 6+ months away. I think the logic behind it is because most people begin planning vacations or big trips several months in advance, but they don't usually firm things up until later. It's also a nice way to tell people to start saving up the $$$$ It's perfectly feasible to just send out an official invite that serves the same purpose. But I guess sometimes people tend to lose wedding invites or they forget about a wedding date when it's too far in advance. Sending out a STD, and then a wedding invite gives you an extra opportunity to "alert" or remind your guests of the wedding. Doing both is not necessary ~ but it does make it more fun

Believe it or not, this is one of many things I still have to do in prep for the wedding ~ but I have been a total procrastinator and all you ladies are putting me to shame
  10. Ok I totally see why this would upset you, it's absolutely ridiculous for her to do something like this especially if she's intentionally doing this to hurt you or gain attention. But is she really that dense and for lack of a better word, dumb, to not realize that she will look like a complete and utter fool wearing a wedding dress to someone else's wedding?? Goodness, I just can't imagine what the hell she's thinking
  11. CRAP!!! Is it too late to sign up?? I can't believe BL starts today?!? My fat ass needs to seriously join this season because I'll be damned if I'm bringing a photographer all the way to Mexico to take three days worth of pics of my jiggles!!!
  12. Ditto ladies ~ These are fabulous, but I am looking for white or ivory
  13. I've used Walmart for plain white or ivory cardstock, which is very cheap and offers good quality. For all my other paper needs I've used Paperandmore.com ~ which offers shipping for only $3.99 and has great products. Another site I've used is Envelopemall.com, which also has fabulous paper products but charges a bit more on shipping fees. Papermart.com also has some great stuff, not so much paper products, but a lot of craft and party supplies that can be used during the wedding planning process!

You won't be able to download any templates until you earn enough points, which I believe takes 50 points to download one template. There is a thread on the newbies section that explains how to earn points ~ basically it's by being active and contributing to the forum, either reading or commenting on threads. Once you've got enough points you will be able to download anything and everything on here, which is so helpful in the planning process!!! As for the swirl ~ I only did that to keep our last names and addresses private since this is a public forum that anyone can access. It is an edit feature on photobucket
  15. If your WC says it's fine, then I say go with that. You should definitely get it in writing though (email perhaps?) so if any problems arise, then you can whip out your confirmation from her. Is she a WC at the hotel or an outside coordinator??

  17. Awesome tip ~ thanks!! Although if my makeup bag and bathroom cabinets could talk, they'd probably be screaming at me right now, saying "YOU DONT NEED ANYMORE SH*T!!!!", hehehe
  18. YAY, thank you, thank you!!! You rock, I have so been looking for this
  19. I think the dress is absolutely gorgeous and because of that, it would look perfect in any setting! Sometimes I think we as DW brides are too worried about whether things flow or tie into the theme, and we forget that this is OUR wedding, OUR day, and who gives a rat's ass what others think, we can do whateva the hell we want, lol ~ so girl I say buy it, do it, wear it, rock it ~ you will look fabulous no matter what!!!!
  20. I think it definitely depends on the type of relationship you have with your parents ~ are you a close knit family? how important is it for them to be there? The other gals bring up good points too ~ why can't they go? Of course if it's illness or physical limitations there's truly not much that can be done. But if it's a matter of schedule conflict or monetary issues, maybe some tinkering of the date or location/venue can solve the problem. This is truly a subjective matter that really depends on your own situation and set of circumstances. Personally, FI or I would not go forward on our DW plans without our parents ~ we both have very close-knit families and it means a lot to have them there. We both understand and appreciate that this day is about us, but we also know that the people we are today derives from the foundation that our parents have built for us. In our circle, a marriage is not only a bonding of our union but of our families, and luckily our families LOVE each other and have continued to vacation together for years now. So this is really a celebration we want to share with everyone there!! But I think in every wedding, there are "must-haves" on the guest list, for us, our immediate families happen to be atop that list. Are your parents a "must have"??
