And yes, I've got a 13-year-old who is no longer a little girl *sigh* It is tough girl, just last week I saw a text message she sent to a friend saying she was depressed because she thought her and this boy were going to be a couple. I damn near freaked out, lectured her and told her no boyfriends until college!! Then 2 days later she came home all sad because the same boy, who said he liked her, also said he liked 2 other girls, INCLUDING HER BEST FRIEND!!! I felt so bad for her, but couldn't help but smile inside, I then taught her a quick lesson that all guys were stupid idiots until about age 25. hehehehe, so as of right now she's on a boy strike ~ THANK GOD!!!!
  5. Unfortunately, I think a "less than expected" guest list is going to become a recurring theme for many brides as the world economy continues to nose dive. For many couples a destination wedding is something planned months in advance, sometimes years. But who knew 12 months ago, or even 6 months ago that money would be so tight and employment shaky for so many people? Hon, I know it sucks that many people won't be able to afford to make it to your wedding, I think every bride deals with similar issues. My FI's best friend/best man will likely not be making it for that same reason (his wife is also a BM, their son a Junior GM, and their daughter my FG -- yep sucks!!!) BUT if a DW is what you really want and you truly only care that your immediate families are present, then you shouldn't change your plans. This is your day, keep your sights set on the "must haves" on your guest list. Yes there are some who have huge guest lists, if all my peeps come through we will have 100+ people, right now we're at about 70. There are some things that are good and bad about that -- such a huge crowd should make for a great party, but I'm the type who will stress that all 100 are having a good time and will probably let so much pass me by A smaller wedding on the other hand gives you a sense of intimacy, and with less people you will likely capture and remember every special touch, smile, laugh, word, etc. Yanno the important moments? All weddings are different and special in their own unique ways, embrace those who will be joining you and know that no matter who is there, you will have a freakin fabulous time

  7. Those are awesome!! I think this is another one of those things I'm going to seriously consider ~ they're just so darn cute!
  8. Oh hon believe me I know how you feel, my freakin weight fluctuates like a damn car speedometer , and worst off all my job requires looking at myself on videotape week after week, so then I get the awesome privilege of seeing/zooming in on every new buldge, crack, and unsightly flaw. *sigh* yep it sucks ass The good thing about weight is that it can be lost -- yep believe me, I know it ain't easy, in fact I've always thought weight loss and dieting is one of the toughest bad habits to kill. At least with smoking, drugs, or alcohol you know the shit don't taste good and is really bad for your health, but ya cant say that for food. Food is great, it taste good, it makes us happy, but yes too much can be detrimental to your health But honestly, how good is freaking pizza, or pasta, and in mine and your case both, the deliciousness of cupcakes and all things frosting But alas, we must control ourselves and get our butts moving if we wanna fit in those beautiful wedding dresses You've definitely got time to focus and drop the pounds you want to lose ~ so keep strong girl and just know you are definitely not the only one who wants to sometimes scrape your eyeballs out and throw your scale out the freakin window
  9. WOW those are incredible prices, and the arrangements are so pretty! What a great find

It's ugly and everyone I show it to agrees....although they aren't that hursh! What do I do? I can't figure out how to upload pictures on here...they aren't the right format so I can't show them to you. Bascially they are all one color and the same flower. My color is the Watermelon color from David's Bridal...my flowers are close to that color. My bridesmaids and flower girls are taken care of. Does anyone have any suggestions on anyone who does good work at the last minute? My wedding is March 4th in Cozumel. We leave for our cruise on Feb. 27th! I don't want to pay a lot of money, but willing to pay about $100 for the bouquet at this point. Please help! Awww sweetie, is it really that bad? Sometimes we are our own harshest critics. You should post a pic and maybe we can all give you some feedback on how to "fix" it?? BUT if not ~ then I highly suggest looking at Roberta's work from Plumera Wedding Flower Boutique. I started working with her about 2 months ago and she is an absolute doll!! Not to mention her prices are so reasonable. Here's a link to her website, which features a package that can be sent out in 3 days. It's $135 including insurance and shipping fees and would probably work well with your colors: PlumeriasWeddingFlowerBoutique If that set doesn't work, here's a link to her ebay site that has tons of beautiful wedding bouquets all in the $110 range, give or take. These I believe can also be sent out on short notice: eBay Store - Plumeria's Wedding Flower Boutique: Silk Wedding Bouquet Sets, Wedding bouquets, Silk Flowers Like I said, she has been great with so far, and her products look beautiful. There are a few BDW members on here who have used her too! I hope this helps give you some options ~ don't stress it will all work out As your day nears everything will fall into place

I would prefer to be within walking distance to Avenue 5. I was also looking at Puerto Aventuras because there are some pretty amazing villas, the only downside being that it is still pretty far from Playa and the nightlife/restaurants. Any suggestions that you would have is very greatly appreciated! THANK YOU! Hey girl, sorry for the late response! Well I think your best bet would be to first starting looking on locogringo.com which is a great site that offers info, pricing and reservations options on condos, villas, and hotels throughout the Riviera Maya. If you click on the below links, they will direct you to aerial views which show the distance between lodging options, and then you can click on those names for pricing info. There are locations on playa's main beach area, and then areas south and north of the central area. This will help you see how far the condos/hotels/villas are from each other. It's a great place to start! Another great place that has been talked about recently on here in Playa is Blue Parrot ~ which offers hotels, suites, and condos options so it really covers every guests budget. The weddings there seem phenomenal and it's also ideally located near Avenue 5. Here's the website link: ..:: Blue Parrot - Welcome ::.. Also locogringo offers a search option under playa del carmen for a list of condos, villas, hotels in a chart list. Make sure to check that out too! Hope this helps!!! ) Central areas: Playa del Carmen: photo tour, aerial images Playa del Carmen: photo tour, aerial images South of Playa's central areas: Playacar~Playa del Carmen: photo tour, aerial images Playacar Phase 1: photo tour, aerial images Playacar Phase 1: photo tour, aerial images North of Playa's central areas: Playa del Carmen: photo tour, aerial images Playa del Carmen: photo tour, aerial images Playa del Carmen north: photo tour, aerial images

I believe he's $450 for the first 4 hours, and then $50 for every hour thereafter. Pretty reasonable for a DJ and I heard he's very entertaining Hope this helps!
